Amazing Race - November 28th, 2010 - Episode Recap

I Hate Chinese Food

The four remaining teams are heading out from Bangladesh - Jill & Thomas are the first team out at 8:25am, 5 hours before the next team - they get the clue to fly to Hong Kong.  Once they arrive they have to make their way by bus and ferry to an island to find their next clue.
-They said they U-Turned Brook & Claire because they saw them as the most competitive team left.  They haven't seen anyone since the beginning of the last leg so they don't even know who was eliminated. (Huh, they keep them separated?)
-They head to a travel agency and find out the first flight out is 11:55pm - Crap - they'll be seeing everyone on the flight out, there goes their lead.  They head back to the hotel since they have to wait all day to leave.
-Nick & Vicki are the next team heading out at 1:59pm - she says they've grown in their relationship on the race especially with her working on calming him down.  He says before her, he didn't care about anybody - then he starts crying and calls her a blessing... (Aww, now I feel like a heartless b*tch for hating him so much.)  They head to the airport.
-Nat & Kat next out at 4:05pm - They're excited to be heading to Hong Kong.  Kat has been there before and she knows Nat will love it.
-Brook & Claire last out at 5:15pm - Brook is looking forward to seeing Thomas - they think they're the only team to ever survive being U-Turned (I don't know if that's true) regardless, they are looking forward to making him uncomfortable - they hope he poops his pants when he sees them.

-We don't have long to wait - everyone's at the airport and we have the awkward confrontation between the shopping girls and Jill & Thomas.  Claire just wants to know why - he gives them the song & dance that he thinks they're the biggest threat, they should take it as a compliment - Whatever.  Brook says if he felt threatened before, he should be petrified now.
-Jill feels bad - Thomas doesn't - but he did try to throw her under the bus, or at least drag her under with him when they were blaming him alone... That's what you get for acting like The Great Thomas.

-Arriving in Hong Kong, they all head for the bus - Jill & Thomas get the first bus out, the rest of them are on the next bus.  Those two are so lucky.
-Jill & Thomas get on the ferry and anxiously wait to see if everyone else will make it.  The second bus gets to the ferry and it's a sprint to the boat.  The Doctors and Shopping Girls get on the boat but Vicki's asthma is acting up and she can't run - Nick starts yelling at her to hurry up, he doesn't care about her excuses - and they miss the ferry.
-Vicki apologizes to him - says it's her fault and he just keeps berating her - he's sick of her being sorry, next time he's not going to wait for her, if they stop they might as well go home... (I feel better about hating him again.)  She is crying- she's not stopping on purpose, she can't breathe.  With absolutely no sympathy, he tells her to quit crying. (I can't help but wonder how the cameraman feels having to film this... does he want to hit the guy, too?)

-So the other three teams get to the island and everyone is running to find the clue box... except Claire - she's having trouble keeping up and Brook is frustrated with her.
-Jill & Thomas and Nat & Kat get the clue to take the ferry to the Kowloon district, they must locate Majesty Chinese Restaurant to get their next clue. (Uh oh, restaurants are never a good sign on the race.)
-Brook & Claire get the clue and are bickering - Claire is not a runner and has to go at her own pace - Brook mutters, "God forbid you go at anyone else's." bicker bicker bicker.

-Jill & Thomas and the doctors are back on the ferry - he's hoping to leave Brook & Claire behind but they just make it - Brook wants to hug it out.

-Nick & Vicki are on the way to the island and he's being Mr. Negative (as usual) saying they have the worst luck... She's asking him to try and think positively (maybe his head will explode... we can hope.)  He says he wished they never came - he's never had so much stress in his life.
-They get to the Island and run for the clue box.

- The other three teams arrive in Kowloon and get taxis to Majesty Chinese Restaurant.  Nat & Kat are the first inside where there is bad karaoke and get the clue: ROADBLOCK - Who's feeling peckish?
-Using chopsticks, one team member will have to pick through a huge buffet table packed with food looking for one of five fake food items (for example, platter full of prawns - one of them is fake - but they all look real - this is an evil challenge) and to make matters worse - they have to eat everything they pick up until they successfully find a fake item.
-Nat is going to do the task (it's not vegetarian food) - and she is eating.
-Jill & Thomas arrive - Thomas is going to do it for them.
-Brook & Claire get there and Claire assumes they have to sing karaoke so she volunteers to do the task - then finds out it involves eating... and apparently she's a very picky eater...(Have fun with that one.)  Brook, of course is cheering her on and leading the whole place in a dance and chant - she's such a ham.

-Nat finds the first fake food item - a piece of salmon sashimi - they get the clue to go to Avenue of the Stars and look for the statue of Bruce Lee, where they'll find the next clue.  They are in a cab - Nat knows they got lucky, that Roadblock can take a long time.

-Nick & Vicki still on the ferry - she's trying to be positive - he's silent and fuming.
-Thomas & Claire are eating - a lot.  Brook tells her to do something - "I'm still chewing"... they're still the Bickersons this episode.

-Nat & Kat get to the statue of Bruce Lee and get the clue for the DETOUR - Ding Ding or Sampan.
-In Ding Ding - they board a 100yr old tram system (double-decker buses) and on a certain stretch of the route they have to find three signs that, when put together, will tell them the next Pit Stop - Pit Stop/Statue/Square - But if the ride ends before they know where to go they'll have to make a return trip and start again.
-In Sampan - they have to pick up a wooden birdcage with parakeets in it, then board a sampan - a traditional covered boat used for trade - they will then head out into the harbour and look for a boat with a matching registration number to the tag on their birdcage.  When they find the right boat, they'll trade the birds for the clue to the Pit Stop.
-Nat & Kat decide to go with the birds (Sampan).

-Back at the restaurant, Thomas finds a fake prawn and they head out.  Brook tells Claire, "That's okay, now you can concentrate." (What do you think she was doing?)

-Nat & Kat get to the dock area - pick themselves some parakeets and head down to the sampans - they choose the lady driver and head out into the harbour.  It's now full dark so they're using large flashlights to try and read the numbers on the many, many boats.  It's slow going.

-Jill & Thomas get to the Bruce Lee statue and get the clue to the Detour - he says they do Ding Ding - so they do Ding Ding.

-Nick & Vicki arrive at the restaurant and she says she has to do the task (um... hasn't she done more of them?)
-Brook tells us Claire's supposed to be on a diet for her wedding - they show Claire scarfing down food - she has to eat whatever she picks up - and she seems to be touching everything.

-Jill & Thomas get on the ding ding and there are a ton of signs along the route - they have no idea what they're looking for - and totally miss all three of the signs they need to see.  Pit Stop - Statue - Square. (How bout looking for signs in English?)

-Back at the restaurant - Vicki is balking, says she can't eat this stuff... and Claire is warning she's too full and is going to throw up... then she bolts for the can.  Nick thinks that's funny and laughs (wow, charming.)
-Claire is puking more than she has ever puked before - Brook comes in to check on her and Claire says she doesn't know how she'll go on, there may be more puking.
-Nick is in a good mood now - Vicki asks Claire if she's okay and he yells at her not to worry about her - just keep looking.
-Claire's ordeal has sharpened her resolve and she finds a piece of fake octopus!  Pandemonium!  Brook whips everyone in the restaurant into a frenzy - Nick's not smiling now (I wish Vicki had made him to this task so he wouldn't have another thing to blame on her.)  Brook & Claire head out for the Bruce Lee statue.

-Nat & Kat still haven't found the matching boat.
-Jill & Thomas get to the end of the route without seeing any of the signs and decide to switch tasks.

-Vicki is having trouble stomaching the sushi - Nick is yelling instructions at her - (I'd tell him...well,  I think we all know what I'd tell him.)

-Jill & Thomas have switched tasks and meet up with the Doctor's on the harbour - they confer that both tasks are horrible... and continue on looking for their matching registration numbers.

-Brook & Claire get the clue for the Detour and are also doing the Sampans.

-Jill finds the registration number on their birdcage right away - SERIOUSLY? - They get the clue: Pit Stop Statue Square - (Wow, they are lucky.)
-The Doctor's finally find their boat too and get the clue for the Pit Stop.
-Jill & Thomas get back to the dock first and have some trouble finding a taxi that knows where to go - as they are asking all the cabs, Nat & Kat get back and jump in the first cab they see.  Jill shrieks at Thomas to just get in the car.  Nat & Kat's cabbie wants to stop to help his comrade with directions and they 'no no no' him - we're in a race.

-Brook & Claire get their birds and choose a sampan - and soon find out how difficult it is to find the numbers in the dark.
-Vicki is still eating - "I hate Chinese food." - He's  telling her to stop chewing and just swallow it (Right - shut up!)  And Vicki is now the one running for the bathroom.  He comes in and wants to just quit - let's take the 4 hr penalty - this is stupid (he's a pouty baby).  She doesn't want to quit, goes back out there and finds a fake mussel!  Good for her.  They take off for Bruce Lee.

-Brook & Claire feel like they're looking for a needle in a haystack.
-Nick & Vicki also decide to do the sampan.
-Brook & Claire finally find their boat and get the clue to the Pit Stop.
-Nick & Vicki are out in the harbour and he's being Little Mary Sunshine, as usual.  He just wants to quit, this is stupid.  He says he just wants to choke someone and pitch the birds overboard.  He lies down and goes to sleep right there on the boat.  Vicki can't do this by herself - trying to search all the boats in the dark alone - she doesn't want to quit but he literally abandoned her.  She says it makes her kinda mad - KINDA? - She's given 110% today and she's tired too - (I have to stop commenting because I have nothing nice to say and I try not too use too much profanity in these recaps.)  She has no choice, they are taking the SIX HOUR penalty for not completing the Detour.  He's still complaining, "Every bit of today sucked."

Here's How They Finished:
1) Nat & Kat - won a trip for 2 to Rio de Janeiro - they are really proud and happy to be doing this together.
2) Jill & Thomas - they say they're very happy (but they're mift they lost the lead to the Doctors.)
3) Brook & Claire - Is this our top 3?
4) Nick & Vicki - **NON-ELIMINATION** WHAT!!!???!!! (Oh, I was mad - he does not deserve to be there anymore - come on!)  But Phil did say they will face a Speed Bump next leg and they still have a six hour penalty for not completing the Detour... Vicki says his temper makes it ten times harder - he says he wants to be better to her (whatever.)  (If he starts complaining that they have the worst luck again, I'm going to have to look him up and kick his butt myself... to be last on 2 non-elimination rounds is the definition of lucky.)

-Next week - North Korea - white water rafting and speed skating... and we'll see who is the final 3!

Have a great week everyone,

Coleen

The Amazing Race - November 21st, 2010 - Episode Recap

There's a Lot of Nuts and Bullets

On this leg of the race, the teams are heading out from Muscat, Oman - Chad & Stephanie are the first team out at 11:10am - they get the clue that they must fly over two thousand miles to Dhaka, Bangladesh - the most densely populated city in the world.  Once they land they must go to a specific supermarket and find the sugar cane press - using the machine they have to fill a large glass with sugar cane juice and one team member must drink it to get the next clue. (Not Brook please, the last thing she needs is a sugar high.)
-The clue also warns them there is a Double U-Turn on this leg of the race - a U-Turn forces the team U-Turned to complete both Detour tasks before they can continue on.  This will allow 2 teams to U-Turn 2 other teams.
-Chad & Stephanie want to remain in first and plan to U-Turn Nat & Kat if they get the chance - feel they are a strong team and Chad doesn't want to lose to a couple of girls. (Gah, boys.)
-Jill & Thomas are the next to leave at 11:27am - they want to get to the U-Turn first because they know other teams will definitely want to U-Turn them...(Ah, yeah, get over yourselves.)
-Nick & Vicki head out at 12:57pm - Vicki's excited about Bangladesh but not excited about the double U-Turn.

-Chad & Stephanie get to the airport and book tickets getting them to Bangladesh at 12pm the next day.  Jill & Thomas show up and say we'll have what they're having.

-Brook & Claire next out at 1:36pm - Everyone is nervous about the U-Turn.

-Nick & Vicki get to the airport and get the same arrival at 12pm - looks like everyone will be on the same flight - there's only one.
-Nat & Kat are the last team out at 3:37pm but it likely won't matter much.

-Back at the airport - Thomas is now trying to improve their flight but they're not having much luck - Chad is thinking with his stomach and he and Stephanie head to the DQ in the airport for shakes and burgers.  After they leave, Jill & Thomas succeed on finding a connection that will get them to Bangladesh at 5:45am - wow, that's huge!
-Brook & Claire see them get the better flight and tell Nick & Vicki - so these two teams are now trying to improve their tickets at different agents - they see a flight that will get them in at 8:45am and Nick & Vicki were the first one's in - Brook & Claire miss out and are stuck with the 12pm arrival.  Chad & Stephanie are eating... totally oblivious to any of this.

- Nat & Kat get tickets to Dubai - they didn't have time to book a connection - they'll worry about that later.  Once in Dubai they get the connection to arrive in Bangladesh at 12pm - they'll be on the same flight with Brook & Claire and Chad & Stephanie...(ain't that a kick in the pants?)

-Jill & Thomas are the first to arrive in Bangladesh at 6am - it's super hot and the traffic is already crazy at that hour.  They get to the supermarket and the sugar cane press - Thomas downs the juice (I'm thinking he did some beer drinking in college - he chugged that back handily) and they get the clue for the DETOUR - Balanced Meal or Balanced Bricks.
-In Balanced Meal - they have to pick up a midday snack known as a tiffen, traditionally delivered in a stack of interlocking metal containers - then, travelling across the harbour to a nearby cargo ship, they'll have to hoist 30 containers to the deck - once the meals are delivered they must return to shore with 10 empty containers to receive their next clue.
-In Balanced Bricks - teams use their heads to transport heavy bricks from a supply barge to a nearby shop - when they deliver 100 unbroken bricks, they'll get their next clue.

-Jill & Thomas decide to do the bricks and jump in a rickshaw - she's not too enthused - they nearly get hit by a bus - he tells her to keep all her extremities in... she doesn't understand the big words... your arms & legs - oh.  Apparently it really stinks, Jill is not impressed.  They get to the supply boat and get loaded up with bricks, she drops her first load in the water - oops.  This could take a while - but then, they do have lots of time.

-Nat & Kat get to Mumbai and see the Shopping Girls and Chad & Stephanie sleeping in the airport - and  realize they're all going to be on the same flight - Kat thinks it's funny they caught up - and I'm sure they're also pretty relieved.

-Jill & Thomas finish the bricks and get the next clue - they get to the U-Turn and decide they're going to U-Turn Brook & Claire (I'm thinking the boys are threatened by the all-girl teams...) Thomas says something about them being a team you don't want in the end (whatever.)  Next clue tells them to take a bike rickshaw to a bazaar - Jill hopes Brook & Claire get eliminated because they're going to be Ma-ad!

-Brook - as they're all getting on their flight - says Jill & Thomas have an EPIC lead right now - if they U-Turn anyone they'll be the biggest idiots. (You've met them right?)

-Jill & Thomas get to the next clue box - ROADBLOCK.  There are more than 1/2 million cycle rickshaws in Dhaka on any given day - One team member must go to a rickshaw shop and assemble a bike rickshaw from the parts provided.  Jill is going to do it... let the whining begin.  "There are lots of nuts and bullets - or whatever." (OK, maybe Thomas is not that wrong in thinking she's not so smart.)  But she's doing really well putting the bike together.

-Nick & Vicki arrive in Dhaka - Vicki hopes they get to ride one of the rickshaws - oh, just you wait.  They get to the supermarket and start pressing the sugar cane - Nick drinks it, says it tastes like sweet grass - they get the Detour clue and decide to do Balanced Meals (that's the one I'd have chosen too.)  They grab a bike rickshaw and with them and their packs the poor skinny guy driving can barely get them moving... you can do it!

-Jill is finishing up the rickshaw and thinks she's done - no - missed the chain.

-Nick & Vicki get to the boats, load up their 30 tiffen meals - Nick spills some on himself and goes on about it (whatever Princess) the guy starts pulling the boat out and Nick nearly falls in the water (darn - that would have been hilarious!)

-Last 3 teams arrive and race out of the airport - Chad & Stephanie still hoping to U-Turn Nat & Kat - they've won so many legs and have great game... (you have to get there first though guys.)
-Nat & Kat head out in a cab - Brook & Claire last out - Getting a lot of stares - Brook says they must not be used to their kind there - (Yeah, blue-eyed blonds are not plentiful in Bangladesh.)

-Jill finally figures out it's the chain and they get the next clue to the Pit Stop - Lalbagh Fort.

-Nick & Vicki say the food doesn't smell very good - they get to the ship - he heads up on deck - she ties 10 at a time together and he hauls them up - spraying poopy smelling liquid all over - ewww..

-Last 3 teams are at the sugar cane press- Chad, Kat & Brook all chug the juice and get the clue for the Detour - they all choose Balanced Meal and head off on bike rickshaws... but Chad & Stephanie go the opposite direction (uh oh.)

-Jill & Thomas are Team #1 to the Pit Stop - they win a $15K Discover gift card. Nice to know their efforts paid off.  Phil mentions they U-Turned a team (when they're like 5 hours ahead of everyone - pretty douchey move) you can tell it never even occurred to them that they didn't have to U-Turn anyone...

-Nick & Vicki were a well-oiled machine on the task - got the food delivered and got to the U-Turn - Nick said he knew it - Brook & Claire.  Vicki was just stunned to see anyone on the board - because everyone else was just so far behind... They were excited, getting to the U-Turn and were going to U-Turn Chad & Stephanie (Nick thought they were the strongest team out of the bunch left - these boys all have high opinions of their sex) but then Vicki stopped him - thought it was pointless for them to U-Turn anyone, they were so far behind them.  He thinks she's too nice (hey, good Race karma is never bad) but she wins and they leave without U-Turning anyone.

-Chad & Stephanie are lost - their rickshaw took them in the wrong direction - Darn It!  They have no clue where they are.
-Nat & Kat get to the food hut and take the 30 containers to a boat.  Brook & Claire run around a little but then find the food place too and head out with their tiffens.

-Nick & Vicki get to the Roadblock and he's putting the rickshaw together because he's the bike guy (unless it's having to ride up hill apparently.)  Vicki feels like she won the lottery with him listening to her on not U-turning anyone.

-Nat & Kat strapped all the food together and hauled it up.
-Brook & Claire also delivering their food - they are hauling machines.
-Chad & Stephanie finally arrive and get the food together as all the girls finish and are heading back to shore.

-Nick is sure he's done - nope - he forgot the chain too... Vicki's trying to keep him calm and he notices the chain - they get the clue to the Pit Stop.

-Nat & Kat first back and get to the U-Turn - they are so relieved to see they aren't the team already on the board. They U-Turn Chad & Stephanie since that's their only choice.  They are all so close together, it makes sense that they use the U-Turn.

-Brook & Claire get to the U-Turn and see they're on the board - U-Turned by Thomas & Jill - Brook says he must have a small... - Now they have to go back and do the brick task as well and they have to beat Chad & Stephanie.  They take off and get bricks on their heads - Claire complains a little, but Brook doesn't waste time complaining - let's just get it done.

-Chad & Stephanie finish the meals - with him only telling her to 'shush' once (that they showed us) but they are in last place and they can't find where they need to go for the U-Turn board.

-Nat & Kat get to the Roadblock and Nat is putting the bike together - It must be hot - they are all sweating like crazy.

-Brook & Claire have delivered 60 bricks and they're flagging - both are tired - having to do both physical tasks in that heat... yikes.
-Still no Chad & Stephanie, they are lost and he's being a goof - bicker, bicker, bicker - they finally find the U-Turn and are pissed to see they have been U-Turned by the Doctors - (you were going to do the same thing to them.)

-Brook & Claire finish the bricks and Brook takes off running - Claire is pleading with her to slow down before she pukes or passes out (or both) - Brook tells her to suck it up - she's tired too... Oooh, first time we've seen these two fight like that.

-Chad & Stephanie are carrying their first load of bricks and Stephanie says she's going to drop them - he yells at her to get mentally tough right now - she turns and gives it to him - "Shut the h*ll up and stop being such a pr*ck!" (Ha!  Good for her.)

-Brook & Claire still fighting in the rickshaw - Claire tells Brook she doesn't run marathons like her, maybe she has the wrong partner... after the fact Brook realizes it's a lot to ask of anyone - (They're so evolved.)

-Chad & Stephanie still bickering - she feels like she's going to throw up.  Chad yells at the man to count the bricks already - (Does his blockhead count?) - they are done and get the next clue.

-Brook & Claire get to the rickshaw place and meet up with Nat & Kat - Brook's going to race through this like a spider monkey - she's so impressed with them, catching up after having to do the bricks too.
-Nat is having some trouble with the bike - she's missed the wheels.
-Chad & Stephanie arrive - Stephanie is going to put the bike together and Chad's going to be an ass.  He starts heckling Nat, big smart doctor can't put a bike together... She finally has to tell him the U-Turn wasn't personal, they were the only other team behind them.  He's just trying to get in their heads to get ahead (she was wondering if he was going to come tackle her.)

-Stephanie thought she was making up a lot of time on Brook.
-Nat finally finished the bike and apologized again to Chad as they go by him - yeah, whatever.  He looks like he realizes they did what they had to, but he still doesn't like it.
-The bell is the stumbling block for Brook and the seat stymies Stephanie... but Brook finishes first - they take off for the Pit Stop.  Chad & Stephanie are right behind - he starts the obnoxious American routine - yelling at people in the street to tell him where the fort is... they are all looking for the Pit Stop on foot...

Here's How They Finished:
1) Jill & Thomas - They won a $15K Discover card and the enmity of Brook & Claire.
2) Nick & Vicki - That's their best finish yet - Vicki hopes Nick sees being nice does pay off (I wouldn't bank on that.)
3) Nat & Kat - played the U-Turn - it was a matter of survival for them -they have no regrets.
4) Brook & Claire - really close finish on the last two teams - Brook complains to Phil that a man U-turned two little girls... Phil doesn't buy it - you can't pretend you're not a threat on this race.
5) Chad & Stephanie - ***ELIMINATED*** Even though he didn't win the million, Chad still feels like a very rich man - came out engaged to a wonderful woman... aww. She says he's going to make her cry (oh yeah, major brownie points with that one.)

So with Chad & Stephanie eliminated, that means Andria S, Coleen T, Steve H, Andrew W and Kim B/Gail W are all out of the pool.  (BOO!)

Next week - Brook cuts loose (dancing) and Nick cuts [Vicki] down - show him making her cry and telling her to quit it... (too bad she can't win without him. Jerk.)

Have a great week everyone,

Coleen

Survivor Nicaragua - November 17th, 2010 Episode Recap

Stuck in the Middle

Libertad - Night 24
-The episode opened with the tribe coming back from voting out Marty - Brenda says Fabio, Benry and Dan now see that Sash & her aren't on their side, now it's only a matter of time before they go.  She sees herself and Sash as the King & Queen... but she's more the King and he's the Queen.
-Holly approaches Jane - she sees Brenda and Sash are running the whole thing and she thinks they gotta make a move (she thinks Nay & Chase are with her... I wouldn't be so sure there....) Seriously, she has nothing to lose in making a power play right now.

Libertad - Day 25
-It's going to be a rainy day - they move all the WOODEN chests around the fire and cover it with WOOD to protect the fire from the rain.. (Seriously? Has no one ever camped before?)
-Holly's getting her crazy eyes back - she wants to know if Jane's talked to Chase yet - Not in the middle of the night, no.  Holly's got a bee in her bonnet and MUST...MAKE...MOVE...NOW.  She is rallying votes for Brenda or Sash.
-Holly is talking to Benry - he wants to know what happened at Tribal last night and she tells him Brenda & Sash told you guys they were voting Jane then switched and voted for Marty - They are in total control.
Benry says Sash totally back-stabbed Marty - Totally.  So how can you trust them?  She has totally converted Benry, he wants to take out Brenda or Sash.
-Jane starts working on NaOnka (oh, please put your leg down, she has it up on a log... so wrong... anyway...) I thought Nay would be a much harder sell but she is all in - Nay says Brenda's like her best friend out there but she didn't come all this way to leave with nothing - Now is the time to take Brenda out.
-Holly's working Chase... but he Looovveess Brenda....he's not buying that she should be the next to go.  He wants to take Benry out - he threw in with Marty and he's a physical threat in challenges - And Chase loves Brenda - he feels like he's stuck between alliances again.
-Holly is now doubting Chase - You should have seen the way the wind was blowing there, lady, sheesh.

REWARD CHALLENGE
-They are divided into two teams of 5 - using only 4 barrels, 2 planks and 10ft of rope, they must work together to make their way across the beach to the finish platform without touching the ground.  If any member of the team touches the ground they all have to start over from the beginning.  First team with all 5 members on the finish platform wins Reward.  The Reward is to travel to the volcano, do some volcano boarding (what is that?) and then eat pizza, brownies and soda. Food! They're in.
-Blue team: Chase, Purple Kelly, Jane, NaOnka & Fabio.
-Yellow team: Sash, Holly, Brenda, Dan & Benry.
-They begin and the Blue team is going slow and steady - Yellow team is not working as well together - they fall off and have to start over.  Blue team continues on their focused path and easily wins Reward!  They head out in a helicopter for the volcano - it's everyone's first ride in a helicopter too - they're so excited.

REWARD
-They land right on the volcano, on an expanse of black sandy/rocks that are steaming - then they go sledding down the side of the volcano - CRAZY!  Jane, "That was fun as crap!" (She's so cute.)

Meanwhile... Back at Camp... the fire protection barrier has become the fire - the chests are fully engulfed, everything is burning.
The losing tribe members comes back to the aftermath - and they are SHOCKED!  The chests are completely gone - the machetes were in there, the handles are gone - the pots & pans - all the rest of the merge food (flour, fruit, etc)  Benry, "Why did this happen?" (Because you're all idiots!)  They were lucky the shelter didn't go up, it was scorched and the tarp was melted, but they still had the sleeping area intact.  Benry thinks it's been a day from Hell.

REWARD
- Eating!  Jane inhaled a brownie and 3 glasses of soda - she couldn't have cared less what was happening at camp - this was Heaven!
-But they do start talking about the game - Fabio wants to take a consensus of where everyone stands and Nay pulls him away from the table - Jane & Chase know the score but Purple Kelly is tight with Brenda and clueless - Nay fills him in that everyone wants Brenda out.
-Fabio loves this info - he's going to run with it (absolutely no questioning the source, really?)  Fabio's in, but he wonders about Chase - Nay dismisses Chase as not worth worrying about - she's ready to make a power move to push herself forward and nothing's going to stand in her way. (Have I mentioned she scares me?)

Libertad - Day 27
- Chase runs right to Brenda and tells her that Holly's freaking out and trying to get her out.  He trusts Brenda - he's put his game plan in her (that's what she said) and he's going with his gut - he's not going to back-stab her now.  Brenda says she's not worried or impressed with their plotting.
-Chase talking to Nay, asking how she feels about Brenda - Nay says she's shady - Chase says he thinks  Benry needs to go - he cooked up this plan with Holly.  Chase tells Nay that he told Brenda about the plan.  -Nay is NOT impressed.  She sees Chase as scattered and running around leaking the game plan.  She feels she has no choice but to flop and go with Jane & Holly - the smart people looking to get the strong people out, it's her only choice to make it farther in the game.
- Nay talking to Benry - she tells him he can't trust Chase - that he wants him out - so they have to take out Brenda, then Sash, then Chase.  Benry thinks Chase has been playing with his heart and emotions and he's being played by Brenda.  He needs to grow a pair and do what's best for him in the game.
-Nay tells Jane that Chase is not with them.  Jane's surprised that Chase is acting like he wants to get in Brenda's pants or something (Hello... since day one.)  Jane says Chase better not go back on his word to her or he'll catch hell when they get back to Carolina - Carolina people aren't like that.
-Nay is a busy bee - now she's telling Holly she can't trust Chase - she says she knew it... "What the bleep is wrong with him?"  Nay, "He sees it [that Brenda's dangerous], he's just stupid."

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE
We have a pool of water and 10 poles with knotted rope hanging from them - They have to stand on a very small platform leaning back hanging onto the rope.  Every 5 minutes, they'll have to move their hands further down the rope, making it more difficult.  When they can't hold on any longer, they'll fall in the water and be out of the challenge - Last person hanging / leaning wins Immunity.
-They start - and Sash and Purple Kelly are out almost instantly - Holly is the next to go, then Brenda, Dan and Fabio gives up... Nay is next out and we're down to Chase, Jane and Benry - the old lady against two of the strongest guys out there.  She looks solid and Benry looks like he's going to have an aneurysm - so dramatic.  It's time for them to move down a knot... and Benry is out.  Chase starts working Jane, tells her he's solid, she might as well give up - so she announces she's letting go and Jeff says, "Don't you dare give up." So she holds on and Chase loses it - JANE wins Immunity!  Good for her.

Libertad - Day 27
-Jane feels on top of the world - she knew she'd do well in anything having to do with arm strength and grip because she has to wrassle the dog's she works with in the real world.  She's pretty sure, as long as she doesn't get her hands on a hidden immunity idol, that it'll be Brenda going home tonight.
-Chase is talking to Sash - he's lobbying for Benry but knows they might not have the numbers to save Brenda.
-Nay talking to Sash, says Chase is so paranoid, he's pissed her off to the highest point of pisstivity (New word!  I like it!)
-Sash says he's hearing it's Benry tonight and Nay tells him what's really going on - It's Brenda tonight... I saw the flash of surprise and panic on his face - Oh sh*t - He tells the camera he was surprised and it's the first time in the game he's really felt worried.
-Chase tries to talk to Fabio and Holly comes RUNNING over - she starts with the crazy-eyed-rant that Brenda's got to go, and Chase doesn't have a chance to get in his Benry pitch.  Chase knows he's been playing with his heart and is worried if Brenda goes he'll have no one to trust... (Jebus man, you really do need to grow a pair.)
-Brenda asks Chase what's his game plan - he tells her everyone's voting for her and that NaOnka was the lynch pin - She doesn't believe Nay would vote for her - Sash comes over and corroborates his story, so Brenda finally understands - NaOnka is not your friend.  She starts working her allies then to find a way to save her - plays on their fears - "Do you think they're going to save you?  With me gone you'll never get the numbers back."  (She is a typical queen bee - making her drones do the work for her.)
-Of course, they're out in the open and everyone is watching Chase, Brenda & Sash talking - Nay says Chase is over there running his mouth.  Holly, "He's got to learn to shut the hell up."
-Sash is now thinking he might have to use his hidden immunity idol to save Brenda. (The Precious?)
-Holly wonders if Sash would give Brenda the idol - Nay says, "Oh, hell no."
-Brenda says she doesn't even want to see Nay's face - hopefully Sash will give her his idol and they'll blindside NaOnka... (OOooooh, this could be good!)

TRIBAL COUNCIL
Sash, were you surprised when Marty was voted out last week?
 - Yeah, I think a lot of people were surprised.  But since that happened, there has been a lot of re-shuffling and I'm more out of the loop now than ever.
Chase, you believe Sash is out of the loop?
 - I think so, he had a strong alliance and now that alliance seems to be gone.
Brenda, any regrets over the last vote?
 - Yeah - I didn't want to vote Marty - my peeps know that... (Marty is nodding like an idiot - from the jury bench - I wish we didn't need to see him anymore)... but I had to prove to my alliance that they could trust me.
How hard is it to trust people out here?
-Not hard - I've never had a problem trusting but it seems that NaOnka wants to jump ship on me - I worried about the guys but she's the one breaking our alliance.
NaOnka, that's a pretty strong accusation...
- I don't think it was me...
Hold on - You don't think it was you?
- It was not me - everybody can put it on me but Chase was running around yesterday not knowing what to do, he's like that - but it was not me.
Chase raises his hand (Just say it buddy) - He says yes, he went to Brenda cause he trusts her, this is not news.
Kelly Purple, weigh in on this...
 - She is completely out of the loop - this is very enlightening (Is she even playing this game?  She is completely clueless.)
So, Brenda, now where do you sit?
-Why would Sash  break up the strongest alliance out here, he's smart and it doesn't make sense. And why would Chase tell her about it if he was in on it - that leaves NaOnka as the one wanting to jump ship.
Sash, what does it mean to break trust in this game?
- You could get sent home.
Jeff then determines that Brenda was too proud to scramble in the game.  She says it's not her style, she says people see you as already having lost when you scramble so she focused on the people she knew could do her the most good.
Sash, this must be like a bomb went off...
 - I think everyone's alliances have changed since last council and we have to make changes accordingly.

TIME TO VOTE
Holly votes Brenda - Says, "You should have scrambled."
Brenda votes NaOnka - You are my real true enemy, and I thought you were my friend.

Jeff asks if anyone has a hidden immunity idol and wants to play it now is the time... Everyone is looking around at everyone else - Brenda smiles at Sash... and he... looks... away (oooh, burn)... No one plays a hidden idol (My Precious.)

Tallying the Votes - Brenda 1, NaOnka 1, Benry 1, Brenda 2, 3, 4, 5...  BRENDA is voted out!  (Who's the king now?)  Chase looks like a lost puppy. (Crap, he's my guy in the pool.)

So, with Brenda leaving, that means Ritch G., Bernice R. and Shelley A. are out of the pool.

Brenda's parting thoughts - she's still in disbelief that she was out-played by NaOnka.  Funny how the game changed so fast for her - she is sad it's over.

Next week - NaOnka has the tribe in an uproar - Again. (Oh, what'd she do now?)

Have a great weekend everyone,

Coleen

The Amazing Race - Nov 14th, 2010 Episode Recap

Ali Baba In A Suit

On this leg of the Amazing Race the teams were starting out from St Petersburg, Russia - Nat & Kat were the first to head out at 1:06am.  The clue tells them to fly to the city of Muscat, Oman - when they land they must make their way to Burj Al Mubkharah (a fort) where they must find a man who will give them an ingot inscribed with the time when they may climb the fort to get the next clue.
-Nat has been managing her diabetes quite well on the Race, hasn't seemed to be an issue for them.  They head for a travel agency to book tickets to Oman.

-Brook & Claire are the next out at 1:28am, they also head to the travel agency.  Claire knows she'll never be as fast as Brook (because she has ADD... or is at least hyper active) but she is pushing herself hard, trying not to disappoint her. (Hey, you took a watermelon in the face - I think you've earned the right to not have to make excuses.)

-Nick & Vicki head out at 1:29am - Nick is constantly stressed out - he doesn't really want to make new friends (Ah, the reality show mantra... I'm not here to make friends) She can't wait for him to watch the show (do you really think it'll make any difference in his behaviour?)

-Nat & Kat get to the travel agency and are told the best way to Oman is a connection through Amsterdam that will get them there at 8:55pm - that is the earliest arrival and they go for it.

-Mallory & Gary head out at 1:46am - they've been having such a wonderful time - she has 3 other siblings so she's relishing the time alone with her Dad (aww.)  They head for the travel agency.

-Brook & Claire and Nick & Vicki get to the travel agency - Nat & Kat don't look happy that everyone showed up there (it's 2am - I doubt the show had more than one agency open for them.)

-Thomas & Jill heading out at 1:53am - Thomas not happy to be at the back of the pack but they catch up to everyone at the travel agency and ask... Have you seen Chad & Stephanie?...

-Chad & Stephanie were supposed to depart at 2:45am... but they weren't there - Snoring is heard from inside their hotel room. (Uh oh, that doesn't bode well for my team.)

-Nat & Kat and Brook & Claire get the last seats on the Amsterdam connection arriving at 8:55pm.  Nick & Vicki, Thomas & Jill and Gary & Mallory get the news that their flight will get them to Oman at 10:35pm...
Chad & Stephanie are still sleeping.
-Two hours after their slotted departure time, they finally wake up - it was like everyone's worst nightmare on the Race - to oversleep.  They are so fed up with themselves.  Stephanie feels like the Race has taken a toll on their relationship - Chad feels like no one has actually beat them - they just haven't been playing up to their potential.  They get to the travel agent and are able to get a flight that will get them to Oman at 10:45pm - just 10 minutes after the majority of the teams... hopefully they'll be able to catch up.

-First flight arrives and they get cabs - Kat says it's 90degrees and very, very humid, she can just imagine what it's like in the daytime.
-Second flight arrives and they're on a shuttle bus complaining about the heat and wondering where Chad & Stephanie are... Speak of the devil - third flight arrived early and there are Chad & Stephanie, caught up to them in the airport.

-First two teams get to the Fort and get their ingots: 7:30am- they lay down to get some sleep.
-Jill & Thomas get there  and see the teams sleeping... they get their ingot - 7:45am.
-Gary & Mallory, Nick & Vicki and Chad & Stephanie all get to the Fort at the same time... but Chad & Stephanie made it to the man first - they got the 2nd 7:45am - the last 2 teams get 8:00am.  Everyone hunkers down to sleep.

-6:00am - everyone is stirring and getting ready for the day - Chad & Stephanie go for a walk and he feels the time is right, he gets down on one knee and with his dearly departed mother's ring he asks Stephanie to marry him...(awww) all the women say "awww" - Thomas congratulates him - Nick looks like he thinks he's a sucker.  We'll see if this takes Stephanie's head right out of the game or if it'll help him focus.

-7:30am - Doctor's and Home Shopping girls head up the Fort - teams must now drive themselves to Jebel Shams - the tallest mountain in Oman.  At the base of the mountain a safety driver will take them the rest of the way up due to treacherous conditions (Oh Sweet Jebus.)
-Brook & Claire immediately want to ask directions - the doctor's have a map and figure their own way.

-7:45am - Chad & Stephanie and Jill & Thomas get the clue - Chad & Stephanie ask someone and get directions easily.  Jill & Thomas bickering already - ask a cabbie who gives them directions - they were impressed with how nice the people are even though they were being pushy Americans.

-8:00am - Gary & Mallory and Nick & Vicki get the clue - Gary & Mallory have a map  but Nick doesn't want to follow them - thinks it's a safer bet to ask a local who will for sure know exactly where they need to go (you hope.)
-Nick makes Vicki ask at the gas station and Brook & Claire show up too - Vicki tells Brook what the guy told her and Nick starts yelling at her to shut up, "Seriously, shut the hell up..." (I'd like to shut him up) "...I'm going home the next time you give someone advice..." (Promise?) "... they're probably laughing at you dumb ass right now." (I seriously dislike this guy.)

-Chad & Stephanie are the first team to arrive at the safety drivers - (Engaged luck?  Or, he was stressed about the proposal and now that it's done he can relax and concentrate on the Race... it's a theory, we'll see.)
Chad says to the driver he'll get them there nice and safe - and the driver says "God Willing" - (Oh man, good think that wasn't in English, that'd freak me out.)

-Gary is nervous that Mallory's directed them the wrong way- she's sure she's read the map right - but he thinks they've make a mistake.

-Chad & Stephanie get to the clue box - ROADBLOCK - Who wants to add a little magic to their life?
-One team member must rappel 500ft down a rock face to a narrow ledge then search among hundreds of lamps for one containing Aladdin's ring (Nat's not going to be able to do that.)  Once they deliver the ring to the guy, they'll get the next clue.
-Chad is going to do it - normally he has no issues with heights but this was the Grand Canyon of Oman, it was quite majestic and terrifying.
-Thomas & Jill arrive and she's going to do the 'rap-il', he corrects her pronunciation - it's 'ra-pell' - at least she laughs about it, until she has to actually do it - Just don't... look... down...  She's freaking out a little.
-Chad gets to the bottom and starts searching through the lamps, realizing this may not be that easy...

-Meanwhile, Nat & Kat and Gary & Mallory (the two teams relying on maps to find the mountain) are both lost.

-Chad finds a ring quite quickly - maybe it was easier than I thought - they get the clue to drive themselves to Nizwa and find the giant stack of books in the middle of a round-about to find the next clue.
-Jill finds a ring 5 minutes after Chad and they head out just as Nick & Vicki show up at the Roadblock.
-As Vicki is reading the clue a mountain goat starts to eat it... Uh, you may need that... Nick can't stand heights so Wonder Woman, Vicki, is doing the rappelling (she'll kill it and he'll belittle her... just a guess) She's not afraid of anything, except bugs (I'm with you there.)
-Brook & Claire get to the Roadblock too and Claire says she'll do the rappelling - Brook impressed with her stepping up ... I didn't see you volunteering to do it honey.

-Nat & Kat have stopped for directions... Hello sweaty workman... Gary & Mallory also ask directions - Gary says they have to give up on the damn map - local tells them, "This road, not good..."  Mallory is literally praying they still have a chance.

-Vicki had a lot of fun with the rappelling (she's not normal) - starts looking through the lamps.
-Claire starts the rappel and did okay until she looked down... and her heart lodged in her throat...

-Chad & Stephanie get to the stack of books - DETOUR - Water Table or Wedding Table.
-In Water Table - they have to fill a water truck by pumping water out of the ground with a motorized pump, once full they have to direct the truck driver through the confusing streets to find the designated address for their water delivery - once they successfully deliver the water they'll get their next clue.
-In Wedding Table - they have to make their way to a market and buy 25 frozen chickens and all the rest of the ingredients to make a traditional wedding soup - when they have presented the bride and groom with the finished soup they'll get their next clue (they have to cook soup, really?)
-Chad decides on Water Table - (hmm, thought maybe they'd go with the wedding theme - but can't blame them.)
-Jill & Thomas are right behind them - she wants to do water - he's clueless in the kitchen (oh, come on, something the Great Thomas can't do?)

-Vicki finally finds a lamp with a ring in it and Claire finds one right behind her... They all head back to their vehicles and Nick notices they have a flat... Brook & Claire take off without missing a beat. (See Nick, if you were nicer maybe they'd have hesitated or tried to help you...) He, of course, has a tantrum - "Why does this happen to us?" (It's called Race Karma, Mr. Poopy-pants.)  She's trying to calm him down as he tries to change the tire.

-Chad & Stephanie get to the water trucks - Jill & Thomas are right behind them - the trucks fill quickly and they get a driver but he can't help them find the delivery address - they have to direct him.

-Brook & Claire get to the big books and they do not cook so the obvious choice for them is the water table.

-Nat & Kat finally get to the Roadblock/Rappelling - Nat is terrified of heights so they agreed before the race that any heights related Roadblock, Kat would do for them.  So it's Kat rappelling down the canyon and entranced by Oman.

-Gary & Mallory still haven't found the mountain - where are they?

-Chad & Stephanie haven't found anyone who can direct them yet.  Jill & Thomas found a local who said he'd lead them - Jill thanks goodness for the very nice people of Oman (Huh, I just noticed there are no women on the streets - everyone they've talked to, all the locals are men, that'd be weird.)

-Nick & Vicki got to the big books and also decide on Water Table.

-Chad & Stephanie go to a house and ask the guy to lead them to the right place, he will.   They see Jill & Thomas have arrived at their delivery (turns out the guy they asked to direct them is the cousin of the guy they have to delivery water to - Holy, lucky.)  They deliver the water and get the next clue, Thomas tries to hi-5 the guy and he doesn't know what to do so he ends up giving him a man-hug (Awkward...)
-The clue tells Jill & Thomas to make their way to Muttrah Souq in Muscat - it's a market - Once there they must get frankincense from a marked vendor then search for the famous Ali Baba and trade the frankincense for their next clue.
-Chad & Stephanie are frustrated they lost the lead - but do their delivery and get the next clue.

-Nick & Vicki and Brook & Claire get to the water trucks and fill them.
-Kat is looking for the ring in the lamps.
-Gary & Mallory finally get to the Roadblock after NINE hours of driving around lost (OMG!)

-Kat finally finds a ring in a lamp - Hallelujah!  They pass Gary & Mallory as they're leaving which gives them hope they're still in this thing.  Mallory is doing the rappelling for them.

-Jill & Thomas get to the market.
-Chad & Stephanie are right behind them.
-They both get their frankincense and look for Ali Baba.

-Brook & Claire go to a house and ask the woman there to show them their delivery address.
-Nick & Vicki also get someone to show them where to go.
-All are pumping their water.

-Nat & Kat get to the Big Books and decide to do the Water Table (I'm sure Kat, the vegetarian, doesn't want to cook chicken soup.)

-Mallory finds a ring in a lamp and, as the sun is setting, they head out for the stock of books.

-Jill & Thomas find Ali Bab and get the clue to the Pit Stop - Al Alum Palace.  Chad & Stephanie get it right behind them - Thomas asks a cab driver to lead them to the palace and he'll pay.

-Nat & Kat fill their water truck - they are having fun with it.

-Brook & Claire trying to get to the market and Brook turns the wrong way up a one way street causing a huge back drop and bringing the Popo (police) down on them... Turn it around ladies.

-Nick & Vicki get to the Souq (market) and get their frankincense - the guy tells them to, "Take it to Ali Baba in the souq."  Vicki, "Take it to Ali Baba in the suit?" Nick, "Ali Baba in the suit?" (I'm not making this stuff up folks.)
-They do find Ali Baba in the souq regardless of their cluelessness - and see Brook & Claire are right behind them.  The Shopping Girls get the Pit Stop clue too.

-Gary & Mallory get to the Books and choose to do the water (No wedding today).  Mallory says it took her three years to win Miss Kentucky and she finally made it on her last year of competing - just proved to her you should never give up.  They fill the truck and head to the delivery.

-Nat & Kat delivering the water - Kat gets doused and says it's the best shower she's had in days (eww.)  They get the clue and head for the Souq/market.
-Mallory & Gary see Nat & Kat in the water truck - they're still in it...  By the time these teams get to the souq, all the shops are closed except for the two they need so it's a bit less challenging...

-Heading for the Pit Stop, Kat is looking at the map again (didn't you learn from earlier today?) and Gary & Mallory are just heading for what looks like a palace in the distance...

Here's How They Finished:
1) Jill & Thomas - First team to arrive... however - they got a 30 minute penalty because they were not allowed to pay a cab to lead them... Thomas takes full responsibility for that - they're just so mad to have lost first.
1) Chad & Stephanie - Whoo! They win a trip for 2 to Belize... that's make a nice honeymoon - Stephanie says this was the perfect day, couldn't have gone any better.
2) Jill & Thomas - (Ha ha.)
3) Nick & Vicki - she cries every time they're not last... oh, and when they were last and had no penalty too.
4) Brook & Claire - there is lots of squealing and Claire attacks Phil - he recoils like she's diseased but she gets a hug in anyway.
5) Nat & Kat - so relieved to still be in it. (They went from first to last this leg - not a good day for the good doctors.)
6) Gary & Mallory - ***ELIMINATED*** It was such a special experience for them - She learned to go for your dreams and to live life full out from her Dad.  (I'll miss these two - they were a solid team.)

So, with Dad & Daughter leaving this week - Pat T, Jeff T, Laurie T, Janine S and Kim A are all out of the pool (wow, that took out half my family.)

Next week they are in Bangladesh - and there will be a double U-Turn.  Looks like my least favourite teams, Jill & Thomas and Nick & Vicki both U-Turn other teams (Curses!)

Have a great week everyone,

Coleen

Survivor Nicaragua - November 10th Episode Recap

Running the Camp

Last night on Survivor, the episode opened with the tribe returning to camp after voting out Alina.

Libertad - Night 22
-Everyone is down on Marty for attacking Jane like he did at Tribal Council.  NaOnka would have gone right back at him.  Chase tells Brenda he hopes no one bought his bull___.  She knows that's just how he is.
-Jane's going to call "that jackass Marty, Farty from now on."  She knows he's just grasping at straws cause he knows his days are numbered but he's not going to beat her.

Libertad - Day 23
 - Marty and Sash getting water - Marty wants to know who put his name down - was it Chase or Holly? (It was Alina and Jane, you dumbass.)  Sash says he thinks it was Holly and Marty says that gives him hope that Chase has half a brain... (What? They aren't there to help you win the money, he should be happy they only have half a brain or he'd be gone by now.)  Marty finds it hard to play this game with stupid people (get over yourself already.)  He feels like he cleared the air about the threat Jane poses but he knows there is a target on his back and he needs a plan.
-Marty tells Benry and Dan his plan - tell Chase and Holly they're voting NaOnka, knowing it'll get back to her to flush her idol, then blindside Jane.  They wonder if Brenda will go for it and Marty says totally.  (Proving to me he has no idea what's going on with the leadership of this tribe.)
-Jane's watching his whispered confab with Ben & Dan - she'd like to take him to the woodshed and whip his ass -   He knows he's got a noose around his neck and is scrambling like no one she's ever seen.

REWARD CHALLENGE
They will be randomly divided into two teams - they have to make their way through a series of obstacles and retrieve 3 keys - once they have all the keys and get through to the end, they'll have to open 3 locks to raise their flag and win reward.  Reward is a zip-line tour through the jungle canopy then a barbecue. Food!
-The random choosing of teams flukily ends up with Men against Women, with Chase being the odd  man out - he won't participate in the challenge but he gets to choose whichever team he wants to back and if they win he'll be able to go on the reward.  He takes a second, Brenda does the old "oh Chase" and wave and he chooses the Women.  (Really?)  He doesn't seem to happy about it either... I think he just didn't want to spend the day with Marty... and he's aligned with more of the girls.
-They are off and it's neck and neck through the first couple obstacles until the women hit the bamboo wall - and there's no coming back.  They just don't have the physical strength.  Dan holds the guys back a little but Jane is exhausted by the time they get to the rope crawl and it's done.  The men win Reward. (No surprise there.)
-Kelly Purple is crying cause she's hungry (suck it up lady) - Jeff gives the guys the option to give up their spot to one of the ladies - No way, Jose.(Also no surprise.)
-Marty thinks Chase & Jane are dumb and dumber - has no idea why Chase would have chosen to stay with the women (Look in the mirror buddy, he's rather go hungry than spend the day with YOU!)

REWARD
-Everyone is enjoying the zip-trekking except Dan, he thought it was alright. (Party pooper)  There is a lot of whoo-hooing by the guys.  Marty, of course, thought the best part of the BBQ was the chance to discuss his strategy with the boys (can someone punch him for me, just once?)
-Marty lays out his plan to flush NaOnka's idol and blindside Jane and they're all on board (Sash can act.)  They speculate about Brenda - wonder why she'd throw her lot in with Chase.  They tell Sash to make sure she knows they want her in the game... (They have no idea...)
-Sash tells the camera he and Brenda are the brightest minds there and they choose who's going home.

Libertad - Day 23
- The girls get back to camp and Holly thanks Chase for believing in them.  Chase confirms what I suspected, "Y'all are my alliance and you know how I feel about Marty."  He did show loyalty in making the obviously losing choice but it wasn't the smartest move.
-Brenda tells the camera she thought Chase made the wrong decision (lady, you were the one calling to him to choose you.. gah!)  She thinks strategically he should have gone with the men instead of with his emotions... In the end Chase has proven to her that he doesn't make smart moves.
-All the women & Chase agree as long as Marty doesn't get immunity tomorrow they'll vote for him.
-Chase tells the camera he went with his gut and hopefully showed the girls they can trust him...(to make stupid decisions?)
-Holly tells Chase that Dan & Marty are really tight and after today they'll probably try to take Sash & Brenda over with them.  Chase doesn't want to doubt Brenda and make her mad... then he proves he does doubt Brenda by looking to NaOnka reassure him she's still with them.  NaOnka tells him Brenda is solid and for him not to bug her about it.
-Then he goes and bugs her about it... telling Brenda she seems really unsure, are you unsure?  Brenda is annoyed, she's not answering him and making his paranoia worse.   Brenda sees Chase as weak, he's got the pretty, muscular package but not the alpha male personality.  NaOnka is thinking they may have to swap him out if he doesn't get the paranoia under control.

Libertad - Day 24
-Tree mail - tells them their memory must be strong.
-Jane is praying that Good will triumph over the diabolical Evil that is Marty.  Jane says anyone needs to win except him.  She'll be the fat lady singing tonight.

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE
-There is only one immunity up for grabs today
-Jeff will show them a series of symbols - they must show them back to him in the correct order to move on.  The person that makes it to the end with  no mistakes wins immunity.
-They begin and Jane and NaOnka are the first out on the third symbol.  Dan is next, then Holly, Sash, Kelly Purple... we're down to 5 going into the second round.  Fabio is the next out, then Chase and Benry - leaving it a head to head battle between Marty and Brenda... and BRENDA wins Immunity!  YAY!

Libertad - Day 24
-Fabio & Benry are talking - wondering if Marty's plan will work.  Benry says we just have to let it be known we're voting for NaOnka then sit back and play stupid.  Fabio says he hates playing stupid so much (but it's so easy for him) - he likes to call it playing it cool, and it's been working for him so far, not pissing anyone off and laying low.
-Marty & Dan set things in motion by approaching Chase - Marty needles him a bit starting with, "Are you voting with your head or your heart tonight?" Then tells him they're voting NaOnka - uses a football analogy which is unnecessary, Chase isn't going to be swayed by you.  Chase isn't such a good actor, he tells them he'll do whatever they tell him (I don't think they believe you.)
-NaOnka tells the camera she's street smart and will use her idol if her gut tells her she needs to.
-Holly asks Chase what they said to him - he tells her they said it's NaOnka but he thinks they're planning to blindside Jane (Chase may be not as stupid as he seems.)  He tells Holly he's voting Marty and he hasn't spoken to Brenda, doesn't know how the wind is blowing with her.
-Marty approaches Brenda and tells her Sash's plan was to say NaOnka, NaOnka, NaOnka and vote Jane off.  Okay, she's on board.  Brenda tells the camera what Marty said about Jane made sense, she is a huge threat but Marty's not running the camp - Sash & I are running the camp.
-Brenda goes and talks to Sash - they don't really want Marty to go, he's a good cook and he tells them everything - but they don't want to just do what the Jane & Chase group want either... they are the swing vote and tonight's tribal will show which side they're on.

TRIBAL COUNCIL
- Alina comes in as the first member of the jury and she doesn't have whore make up on, that may be a first.
Jeff comments on the reward challenge that the women were heavily outmatched and asks Sash if the men bonded on the reward.
Sash - yeah, there was some bonding and some strategizing.
Fabio, the downside of that is the women also were all alone together...
 - Yeah, plus Chase was there so there was six of them strategizing - I'm just glad we got to eat while we were doing it.
Marty, last tribal you made it clear Jane is a threat - do you feel you put a target on your back?
 - She is an incredible threat which is a compliment to Jane (gag me).  I feel comfortable but my bags are packed (He's such a weasel!)
Brenda, how much time did you spend thinking about what Marty said?
 - It's true - take NaOnka, the troublemaker or Jane, who's feeding us fish - who'd you want to take to the end?  It's a no-brainer.  It all depends on how you play the game.
Jane, you are a likable person and in some games that's rewarded, not this one.
 - She says she and Marty got off on the wrong foot and she should have just kept her mouth shut.  She knows there is now a target on her back.
NaOnka, at the last Tribal we talked about you stealing...
 - She says it's something that's going to be talked about because it was stupid but she's still there and she doesn't want to talk about it anymore.
- Marty pipes up that it has not sat well with the tribe - it was dealt with like it was no big deal at last Tribal but to lie and to steal food especially - there is no greater sin out here - it was definitely not trivial.
- NaOnka - "I'm a humanitarian" (Umm..) "I'm human." (that's better) She says Marty screws up too, she don't like him and he don't like her - "It is what it is."
Fabio's laughing at her misuse of the English language and she just gets more defensive and goes off - telling everyone to F'Off... (that's nice.)  Jeff is literally speechless, that she can go off like that at Tribal Council and still be there.  No one thinks she'll win so she'll make it to the end.  NaOnka says she's just being herself - if you don't like it F-You too.

Time to Vote:
Jane votes for Marty - Calls him a disgrace to fathers and she wouldn't let her grand kids play with his kids.
Marty votes for Jane - "Y'alls cat fishing trip is over cause y'all messed with the wrong gator." (Could he be more of a condescending d-bag?)  He does some goofy, monkey-strut back to the tribe and NaOnka shoots him the finger (I can't help but like her sometimes.)  Brenda, however, is not impressed with her hood-rat behaviour.  She needs to learn to rein it in.

Tallying the Votes:
Jeff asks if anyone wants to play a hidden immunity idol ... and no one does.  That gives Marty pause, and he's not looking so smug now...
Jeff reads the votes:
Jane 1, Marty 1, Jane 2, 3, 4, Marty 2, 3, 4, 5, 6... MARTY is voted out of Survivor Nicaragua!  (Oh Thank God!)  Fabio is not happy though.

So, with Marty finally leaving that means: Bryon L, Bill B and Sharleen H. are out of the pool.

Marty's parting thoughts: he would not change a thing about the way he played his game except he wishes more people were playing... guess they were playing tonight because he didn't see it coming or he wouldn't be there... sucks to not be in the game... it sucks.  (Ha! At least you'll have your gargantuan ego to keep you company.)

Next week - Something shocking happens... what is it?  What?

Have a great weekend everyone,

The Amazing Race - November 7, 2010 Episode

I Want To Be In The Circus, That's Where I Belong

The teams are still in St Petersburg, Russia for this leg of the race.  Jill & Thomas are the first to head out at 8:30am - the clue tells them they're joining the circus.  Teams must make their way by taxi to Avtovo Circus where they'll find the next clue.  Thomas says he's outspoken and she says he talks at he, not to her - but they work well together (sure you do.)
-Brook & Claire are next out - Brook squeals like a little girl when she reads they're going to the circus and coins the title of the episode, "I want to be in the circus, that's where I belong." (there usually is a freak show.) -Kevin & Michael next out at 8:40am.

-Jill & Thomas get to the circus and it's closed - by the time it opens all the teams are there.  They rush through the gates and get the clue to the DETOUR - Circus Band or Circus Clown.
-In Circus Band - teams  choose an accordion player to teach them a Russian Folk song - when they can perform the song correctly (on the Accordion... really?) they will get their next clue.
-In Circus Clown - teams make their way inside the big top and learn plate spinning - if they can keep 10 plates spinning on sticks for at least 10 seconds, the clown will give them their next clue.
-Jill & Thomas go for the Plates - everyone gets red noses and every team is going for the plate spinning except Nat & Kat and Mallory & Gary who decide on the music. (Gary looks like the kind of guy who may already play the accordion, don't you think?)

-Inside the tent, Thomas is already telling Jill she's going it wrong (surprise.)
-Michael's getting the plates going good - they have to start the plates spinning on one small stick, transfer it to their teammate who then transfers it to the row of sticks where they have to spin all 10... meanwhile there are clowns performing all around them, music, noisy...distracting.
-Brook & Claire getting the hang of it.  Chad's telling Stephanie how to do it and of course she's going it wrong too - bicker, bicker, bicker.
-Nick finds it pretty easy but childhood trauma of the clown room at Grandma's house has made him afraid of clowns - he barks at one not to touch him (ooh tough guy.)

-Nat & Kat are doing the accordions - Kat figured out a finger numbering system to make the song a code and they learned the code... (they're smart.)
-Mallory and Gary are out there trying to learn the song too - she has an ear for music and a good memory so she's not finding it too bad - and she's the positive little thing... that goes a long way.
-But both teams are not too happy, when they finally learn the first verse, to find out there are 3 more... yikes.

Inside the plate spinners aren't fairing much better - Kevin & Michael got up to 9 plates spinning but one dropped and it was a domino effect... argh... no one's finished it yet.
-Jill & Thomas couldn't get the plates going at all so they decide to switch and try the accordions - Thomas is just too frantic, and figures since the other task is right there what's the harm... music must be easier.

-Meanwhile Nick just called Vicki a dumbass (whatever happened to his resolution to be better after Ghana?)
-Brook & Claire get all 10 plates spinning and they get the next clue - Time to solve a Russian Mystery.  They have to figure out they're looking for the Bank Bridge - a canal bridge guarded by 4 gold winged creatures... they are off.

-Nat & Kat got the song right - slow but correct using their number system and they are off with the Russian Mystery clue.

-Jill & Thomas get the first verse down and then find out there's more - he starts whining- I can't do that... (will someone smack him please.)

-Inside Chad decides the plates are stupid and they switch to the music - Chad, "This is like guitar hero."

-Nick & Vicki get all 10 plates spinning and get the clue - their cab driver knows where to go so hopefully not too much of a mystery since they should have a speed bump this leg (shouldn't they... come to think of it, Phil never told them they'd have a speed bump - huh?)

-Thomas is still complaining about having to learn 3 songs... (Dude, shut up or go back to the plates.)
-Gary & Mallory get through the music - she enjoyed playing the accordion with her Dad - he just watched her and followed her fingers - it was good and they were off.
-Kevin & Michael are the next to finish, they get all their plates spinning and get the Russian Mystery clue.

-Brook & Claire get to the Bank Bridge and get the next clue.  Mystery continues - they have to make their way on foot to a marked building - Prospekt Tower 1 - they can ask directions but can't pay a taxi to lead them - only 2 different team members at a time can climb the tower - at the top they have to find a figurine on the ledge of the Church on Spilled Blood which they can see from the tower and figure out that's their next destination... on foot as well.
-Nat & Kat and Nick & Vicki get the clue on the Bank Bridge and take off walking.  Kevin & Michael get the clue and Kevin neglects to read the part about not following a taxi because that's exactly what they do... (Read the clue - argh!)
-Mallory & Gary get the clue on the bridge and take off on foot.

-Back at the circus, Stephanie works out a finger number system for them to learn the song too (maybe she's got more smarts than I gave her credit for) they are picking up the music quickly.
-Thomas & Jill still floundering (maybe if he was more positive, but she's not much better... contagious frustration with these two.)  They give up on the accordion and switch back to the plates - they are so pissed everyone was gone from inside.
-Chad & Stephanie get through the music because he was willing to let her lead - they had out.

-Brook & Claire ask a guy with a great beard where the 'prospekt' place is - he shows them and gets kisses (count is up to 9.)  They run right past the marked doorway (which is inside an archway and not greatly visible...nooo.)
-Everyone is still looking for the tower - show lots of teams running around the Russian streets.

-Jill & Thomas finish the plates finally and head out for the canal bridge.  They are in last place - not good.

-Nick & Vicki team up with Nat & Kat looking for the tower place.  Nick & Vicki are smart enough to know Nat & Kat are the team to hitch their wagon to - smart and athletic (Yup.)  They find the Prospekt tower and Kat & Nick head up to look for the clue.  They don't notice the figurine on the ledge - have no idea what they're looking for.
-Michael & Kevin are led to the tower by their cab - 3rd team there - they have to wait for the first pair before one of them can go up.
-Brook & Claire finally find the place - notice a cab outside which they don't think is fair - Kevin notices they brought their bags with them and Brook tells him they were supposed to leave their cab & walk... I don't think that computed, he probably thought he was smarter getting the cab to lead them (sheesh.)

-Kat finds some graffiti on a roof with her spyglass DS13.. is that it?  Nick finally finds the figurine - how dumb are we (speak for yourself) they see it's the same building as the one in the distance and he tells Kat he's going to tell the teams waiting they saw something that said DS13 - they're going to look for that... So he does.  They take off on foot.
-Kevin & Claire head up - he doesn't think Nick would lie to him "cause he's awesome" (Oh, no, Kevin, you need to find better role models) but they go look anyways.  He & Claire wander around up top and finally find the figurine too -"I think Nick may have lied to us..." (and a hero falls.)  They head down and jump in cabs (No! Read the clue.)

-Mallory & Gary and Jill & Thomas teamed up and found the tower - Mallory & Thomas head up to look for the next destination- looking for a flag no the figurine... he finally finds it though and they take off on foot.
-Stephanie & Cad still can't find the tower. Now in last place.  The other teams sneak by them as they head for the church.

-Nat & Kat and Nick & Vicki get to the church and the next clue box - Route Info - Where am I?  Peter the Great is buried inside me... they have to figure out they need to go to the Peter & Paul Fortress to find the next clue.  They ask a few people on the street where Peter the Great is buried but no one knows.
-Nick sees Kevin & Michael and Brook & Claire get out of taxis - knows they'll be penalized - Kevin asks if they lied to them and Nick plays dumb... Lying to us again? (Whatever, the race isn't a gentleman's game, and does it really surprise you that Nick would lie?)
-Nat & Kat find out where Peter the Great is buried by asking the tour bus lady and they have to head back to their original taxi cause their bags are still in it.  Nick & Vicki try to flag a taxi.
-Michael & Kevin's cab driver knows where they need to go so they and Brook & Claire are off.  Kevin wants to beat Nick and Vicki now to show them lying is not going to help you.

-Chad & Stephanie finally find the Prospekt tower - Stephanie goes up the tower to try and find the clue.

-Nick & Vicki can't find a cab - no one will stop for them (could be cause they both look ridiculous) and she wants to go back to where they left their original cab as well.  So they head there and still have trouble - Nick's now calling her a moron (this guy is such a prince - reverting to form I see.)

-Claire is reading over clues in the cab and sees they were supposed to go on foot to the church... they tell the driver to take them back to the tower - they have to do it right or they will be penalized.  Kevin & Michael can't figure out where they went but they had no way of telling them....

- Stephanie can't figure out what the next clue is so she switches out with Chad - he finds the figurine right away - yells down to her that it was right in front of her face - She says she loves it when he rubs it in.  They hop in a cab and he's still gloating ... will someone please read the clue... jeez.

-Nat & Kat are the first to the Peter & Paul  Fortress and get the clue to the ROADBLOCK - which one of you is the real player? - Kat is going to do it - Master a centuries old Russian game to get your next clue.  It's a difficult Russian version of bowling known as Gorodki.  (Phil is standing on a board balanced on the upright pins and a guys bowls them out from under him... trying to take out the host?  Yet he still finishes the explanation - what a pro!) Using a wooden bat they have 2 tries to clear the pins.  Once they've successfully cleared 3 pin formations they'll get the next clue.  All 5 pins have to be cleared off the playing square - Kat clears the first formation no problem.

-Nick & Vicki finally get a cab and he's still being a doofus - blaming her for how long it took (Maybe if you didn't look like a thug you could have gotten a cab... ya think?)

-Jill & Thomas and Mallory & Gary make it to the church and get the clue to go where peter the Great is buried.  They are asking locals if they know... and Brook & Claire get back there on foot... and find a cab right away (sucks to be Nick)- Brook says, "OK, now we've followed the rules."
-Jill & Thomas & Mallory & Gary find out they need to go to Peter & Paul fortress and decide to head back and get their original cabs with their bags.

-Kevin & Michael get to the Fortress and Michael is going to do the Gorodki.  Kevin is making him more nervous, I think, shouting out anxious encouragement.  Kevin wishes he had done the task but he's already done 4 and dad only 2... he can't do them all.
-Brook & Claire get there and Brook is doing the Gorodki - it's harder than it looks.
-Kat clears the 3rd formation and they get the clue to head inside the fortress to the Pit Stop!

-Chad & Stephanie get to the Church and the first person they ask knows Peter the Great is buried at Peter & Paul Fortress - so they head off quickly.

-Jill & Thomas and Mallory & Gary make it back to their original cabs - Jill's worried the other teams will be finished by that time they get there.

-Back at the Gorodki field, Brook is being her crazy self and has an audience of local players.  She clears all 3 patterns and they get the Pit Stop clue.
-Michael can't get the hang of it... Kevin is mister negative which really isn't helping matters.

-Nick & Vicki and Chad & Stephanie get to the Gorodki court and Nick is doing the bowling - She's so glad he has something (other than her) to take his aggression out on.  Clears 2 patterns quickly.
-Stephanie is doing it for them - she's not cleared any and almost hits the pin setter with the bat (the pins are on the ground lady - yikes.)
-Michael's still not cleared one pattern - (Kevin's mad now, worried they're going to be last after getting there 2nd.)
-Nick & Vicki finish and get the Pit Stop clue...
-Thomas is now doing the Gorodki for them - Jill's trying to give him aiming pointers (that doesn't go over well.)
-Mallory & Gary get to the fortress and Gary's going to bowl for them (he also looks like someone who knows how to bowl.)
-Thomas has 2, Michael finally gets one, Stephanie gets one and Gary is a monster - he powers through them like nothing.  Thomas gets his 3rd and they take off for their cab (huh?)... Gary and Mallory head inside to the Pit Stop.

-Neck & neck between Michael & Kevin and Chad & Stephanie for last place. (But we know both teams will have taxi penalties too.)  Michael finally clears the last pattern and they get the clue.

-Jill & Thomas have to pay their cab driver and get their bags before they can check in... but there are issues, they don't have as much money as the cabbie wants - the driver grabs Jill's bag... oh, this could get ugly.
-Kevin & Michael also have to pay their cab driver and he wants 10,000 (rubles?)  They don't have that much either... (uh oh, can you say Russian Gulag?)

-Chad's frustration is not helping Stephanie's aim...

-Thomas finally pulls out $60 US to pay off the cabbie and they take off with their bags.
-Kevin & Michael also resort to $40US so they can get their bags and go check in - Kevin's pleading.

-Stephanie finally clears the last pattern and Chad decides to leave their bags in the cab and check in first... foot race between them and Kevin & Michael - Chad & Stephanie try to check in but Phil tells them they need to go back their cab driver and get their bags first - off they go.

-Kevin & Michael step to the mat and Phil tells them they broke a couple rules - firstly they got their cab driver to lead them to the tower, then they took the cab from the tower to the church - for these two infractions they have incurred two 30 minute penalties - they'll have to wait an hour to check in.

-Chad & Stephanie have no problem with their cab driver - they get to the mat & Phil tells them they had a 30 minute penalty but ...

Here's How They Finished...
1) Nat & Kat - they won $5K each.  Phil asked them if they were afraid they'd made targets of themselves?  They're just afraid if they dont' go all out every leg they'll get eliminated.  (That's the way to play it, fo sho.)
2) Brook & Claire - corrected themselves so they had no penalty.
3) Nick & Vicki - Why did they not have a Speed Bump?  What's up with that?
4) Gary & Mallory - Father & Daughter, making it happen...
5) Jill & Thomas - $60 bucks poorer - I wonder if the cab driver was rooking them or if they him.)
6) Chad & Stephanie - because Kevin & Michael's penalty was longer than their own, they were allowed to check in and were team #6.
7) Kevin & Michael -***ELIMINATED*** Kevin's just mad, mostly at himself I think since he didn't read the clues closely enough - Michael feels like he got to know his son again on the Race (and I hope once he cools down Kevin will realize his Dad is a better role model than Nick.)

So, with Kevin & Michael's elimination that means Bob L, Sharon R, Denise R, Sue & Hannelore and Gillian H are out of the pool.

Preview of next week - Chad & Stephanie are missing in action (they sleep in and miss their leaving time - sweet Jebus) and Mallory is overwhelmed in Oman - there is praying and tears.  Can't wait.

Have a great week everyone.

Survivor Nicaragua - November 3, 2010 Episode Recap

Company Will Be Arriving

Last week LaFlor voted out Marty's one ally - Jill. This episode opened at:

LaFlor - Day 19
(They show vultures eating a dead alligator (ew.)
-Marty says the vultures are circling, he definitely feels like a dead man walking. And because no one is a bigger fan of Marty than Marty he says he can't believe he's in this position - Having no Jill and no idol he's got not protection and doesn't want to be next to go - he has to do his best to try and hold on.
-Fabio comes into camp with Treemail - it tells them to pack up and follow the map to their new home...MERGE!
-Marty is so happy - he feels like LaFlor will want to be getting rid of their own and not worry about the old people. He's back in the saddle again.

Espada - Day 19
-The whole tribe ventures to treemail where there is a chest waiting for them with a note telling them not to open it until they get the key and to make room, company will be coming soon.
-"HERE?" I get the feeling they'd all rather go back to the LaFlor camp... so they are merging 6 and 6 but really it's 8 old LaFlor and 4 old Espada... we'll see how that goes.
-Alina says they should make plans but Benry tells the camera that you can see right through Alina - she burned bridges early in the game and they agreed she should be the next to go home. (You know, I bet Dan could win this game by being the least threatening player there - that seems to be the only criteria they use.)
-Alina gets them all together and says as long ast hey stay strong together they can be final 6 - she wants to blindside Marty if he's still there.
-NaOnka says Alina was in on this plan all by herself - not even Uncle Dan was in - she's going to be the first out if she doesn't get immunity.

LaFlor arrives at the beach with their chest and Espada is surprised Jill is gone - thought she and Marty were running things (well, Alina did anyway.) They open the chest and it's full of food - They get new red buffs and Marty dictates a new name for the tribe - Libertad - which he says means Freedom, well Liberty but he's going with freedom because that suits his purpose better. He's free from his situation at LaFlor (because it's all about Marty, after all. You'd think he'd try not to be so overbearing... ah, who am I kidding, he's just going to be him.) He digs that he got to author the new name (is that what you call it?)
-They are digging into the food - Chocolate Chip Cookies - and Brenda squealed so only dogs could hear her. They got a cask of rum and Fabio wants to drink it all today (that's what you need, to get drunk off your butt...he's pretty.)
-They Feast! NaOnka says it's like her booty (I think she meant pirate booty not bootylicious but you never can tell) she snuck a bunch of nuts in her bra (it sounds naughty but it's actually just nuts - peanuts - in her bra and pockets.)
-Brenda is so relieved to see NaOnka - they go for a walk and NaOnka fills her in - Alina shady. Brenda fills her in too - Jane is good, Marty is bad and Sash got Marty to give him the hidden immunity idol. NaOnka thought Marty was a dummy giving up the idol - but she loved that Sash got it from him.
-They agree once Marty and Alina are gone the game will go much smoother for them and they'll be able to get rid of the rest one by one. NaOnka, "It's about to get real wicked." (I'm not sure what that means but watch the cocky ladies, Survivor karma can bite you in the butt.)

Libertad - Day 20
-Chase Rice! and Jane are bonding over their southern twang and the fact they're both from North Carolina - he's been missing his mom and home and she just brings that all back to him. They get along instantly and also bond over his having lost his father and she having lost her husband... Aww, they're so cute.
-NaOnka woke up irritable today (Oh sweet Jebus, watch out world.) She decided to make tortillas for everyone but got pissed off that everyone was gobbling them up and not saving her any - she had to do all the work then was the last to eat and got the smallest tortilla. Sooo, she decides to show them and takes the flour out of the merge chest (Holly watched her the whole time) and puts it in her bag and goes and buries it away from camp. (WTH, grow up.)
-Then she goes back to camp, everyone is gone now, and she steals a bunch of fruit for herself, a bowl, frying pan, whatever she would need to make herself tortillas. She says, "It tastes better when you're stealing it, (as she's munching an apple) Sweet Victory." (Wow. That's all I can say.)
-NaOnka then proceeds to give testimonial with her mouth full of apple about how it says a little somethin' somethin' about Alina that everyone's against her. (As she's horfing down stolen food... the irony totally lost on her.)
-Next we see Alina talking to NaOnka out on the beach - asking her if she's back with Brenda or still with them. NaOnka tells Alina she is not back with Brenda but that no one is with her - the rest of them are gunning for Alina so she better get immunity. Alina's upset and hurt, she doesn't understand why no one likes her.
-NaOnka takes her off and shows her all her stolen goods - tells her to eat an orange and feel better. (Then there is lots of noisy, slurping - Arghh - I have a thing.) anyway - NaOnka succeeds in gaining Alina's trust, she tells her they see her as a threat but with no alliances so she'll be easy to get out. (NaOnka scares me man, she is positively diabolical.) NaOnka tells the camera she's working Alina to have her vote on the jury... (smart - and cold-blooded.) Alina shakes her head and laughs, "I can't believe you took all this stuff."

-Back at camp they start to notice things missing - the bowl and the frying pan and the flour- Fabio,"That's really uncool."
-Holly asks NaOnka if she put the flour back. NaOnka gets very defensive, "I put it back."
-Holly says she saw her put it in her bag. "And I put it back!"
-Fabio wants to know why it ever went in her bag. She denies, denies, denies (well, bold-face lies, lies, lies) - then storms off.
-Alina looks totally guilty - she says she couldn't own up to it because she knew and didn't stop her or say anything - she couldn't have everyone be as mad at her as they were at NaOnka.
-Alina and Chase Rice! go after NaOnka and convince her to come clean to the tribe. Chase, "So you lied, it's Survivor." (Hmm, I don't know if that's the best idea... but it was soo obvious it was her, she had to try and clear the air somehow I guess.)
-So, NaOnka goes back and tells everyone she did take the flour but only so she could ration it because they were going through so much food (and the lies continue) She also makes sure they all know that Alina was with her and knew about it too.
-Marty tells her straight out he isn't buying it...(I hope not - I could smell the crapola through the TV.)
-Fabio tries to talk and she gives him the hand (talk to the hand) and she does admit that it was all her idea, Alina didn't have anything to do with it, she just knew. Fabio thanked her for at least owning up to it.
-Marty says to the camera that she lied and stole food - that should put her on the block automatically, it's simple but this game is never simple.

Libertad - Day 22
- Brenda shrugs off NaOnka's transgression as "oh crazy NaOnka" but she succeeded in implicating Alina to the point that Brenda says it sucks to be Alina right now. (I think NaOnka is the devil.)
- Sash asks Brenda, Chase & Jane if they are protecting Nay? They say yes but they are going to distance themselves... and still vote the same.
-Sash says, to the camera, it works perfectly for him that Nay is not popular around camp - he wants to take her to the final 3 cause no one will vote for her. Sash fills Nay in, tells her to keep being repentant and they've got her back. She's his number one there. (Oh, so fickle.)
-Jane caught fish and is doing the fish dance - everyone is amused and excited for her except Marty who snidely comments to Benry and Fabio that she can kiss his ass. Marty says the longer Jane stays in the game the worse it'll be - the Carolina bond she's made with Chase (Rice!) will spread it's cancerous tentacles through the rest of the tribe (that's 3 on the carcinoma count for Marty this season.)
-Marty working on Brenda that they need to get rid of Jane - she's got the saddest story, she's so well-liked, she makes it to the end and she'll win.
-Brenda's no dummy - she knows Marty’s dangerous and with him talking to Fabio and Benry it might be best to just get rid of him before he gets them all warped.

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE - two necklaces

-Each person has 2 handles that they will use to keep tension on a steel bar which runs up between them - (one on either side - pulling outward.) Relieve the tension at all and the bar will slip right through, fall and break the tile underneath and they'll be out of the challenge. The last man and woman standing will win immunity.
-They begin and within 2 & 3 seconds, Kelly Purple and Teflon Dan are out. Alina is next, and not happy, and they continue to drop off quickly... Brenda, Benry, Sash, NaOnka... it's down to Jane and Holly for the women and JANE wins immunity... but she doesn't want to stop, she's got something to prove - she holds on and we're down to Chase Rice!, Fabio and Marty... and the old guy is out next (Jane grins, yup, she wanted to best her nemesis.) Then Chase loses the bar and FABIO wins immunity for the men.

Libertad - Back at Camp
-Jane huddles all the girls together and tells them she really just wanted to beat Marty. She wanted to prove to him that she may be little but there was no way in an individual challenge he was going to beat her. (I get it, I've disliked someone that much before - it's probably not healthy but it's also a great motivation to kick *ss.)
-Purple Kelly talking to Jane & Alina saying they have to get the girls together and vote out Marty. Alina tells them to just say you're voting Nay or me and he'll never suspect a thing.
-Alina is trying to lay low and hope the drama doesn't revolve around her tonight.
-Jane, Nay, Chase & Holly talking and they want to take out Marty - he's totally demoralizing the tribe. As long as it's Alina next , they're all in for that.
-Dan, from his regular spot lying in the shelter asks Chase what's up. Chase tells him it's either Marty or Alina, they haven't decided. Dan tells him to let him know. (Playing by not playing, that's his strategy? And it could win him this thing, I swear.)
-Sash asks Chase Rice! and Jane for a favour - he told Marty he'd give him the idol back the next round if he lost so he wants to wait one more round to take Marty out so he doesn't have to go back on his word.
-Jane is not happy with that - says to just give her the idol and you won't have it anymore (That would be awesome!) But I saw the flash of panic on Sash's face (MY Precious) Jane argues what if Marty get immunity next time. She wants to take him out now, while they have the chance but Sash and Brenda are against it. Jane says he's after her and Sash says they're her alliance, they have her back. (Team Jane! I wish they'd get rid of Marty!) Jane tells the camera she is not voting for Alina, doesn't think she deserves to go yet.
-Dan, having gotten up from the shelter, scratches his balls and tells Marty not to trust Chase (Rice!). He thinks they're going to blindside Marty. (Oh sneaky Dan, and darn that Chase Rice! for being so naive.)
-Marty, of course, goes nuts and runs to Sash - says, "I know you're going to blindside me tonight..." Sash says no, there is no blindside, it's Alina.
-Marty is peaking! Spouts off to the camera that Chase is a moron (well...) Then he's chewing Sash & Brenda's ears off - that he (Marty) is a zero threat - he has no number, no idol - it'd be crazy to waste time on him, blah, blah, blah.
-Sash says Marty is digging his own grave with his over-reaction. He should be laying low but he's in his face all day.
-Marty's also attacking Holly for assurances - demands she swear on her South Dakota word of honour that it's Alina tonight. (Wow, he reeks of desperation and it's not pretty. See Marty Panic.)
-Holly goes and talks to Jane & Alina and they're adding up votes - Sash & Brenda will not vote Marty but they think they will have Chase, NaOnka, Purple Kelly... that's 6 - if only they had one more... Alina goes and talks to Fabio (nooo, he hero worships Marty.)
-Alina talking to Fabio says she has 6 people to vote Marty and she'd like him to be 7, she thinks he should be first to go. Fabio thinks NaOnka should be first to go - Alina asks him not to put in a random vote for NaOnka - then says go ahead; it just won't count for anything.
-Fabio says this is why people want her out - every conversation has a hidden agenda - well, this one's not so hidden, but she's dangerous and he doesn't want to vote Marty, they get along.
-Alina, "Seems to me we got along too." And she...walked...away. (Well played Alina - that gutted him - but I still don't think she won his vote.)

TRIBAL COUNCIL

Holly, now you're 12 people going for million dollars, can you feel the game change?
- Absolutely. People are doing anything they can to get to the end and if you just agree with what everyone else says that's not going to get you to the end - you have to take a risk.
Marty, do you agree big moves are going to start happening?
- Absolutely he does and he thinks the window for big moves shuts quickly - you have to seize those opportunities.
Then Marty gets on his soapbox and says he wants to clear the air about the misconception that he didn't like 'Miss Jane' (he says her name with such contempt - I want to smack him) says within 30 minutes of getting there she made monumental errors...
-Whoa, whoa, whoa - Jane tries to defend herself but he's having none of it - he's got a speech prepared he won't be interrupted - he goes on that Jane has the saddest story - she needs the money - anyone that lets her get to the end deserves to lose to her and he'll vote for her if that happens. (Wow, what a total d*ck! Was he thinking if he was going tonight he wanted to do as much damage as he could or, does he think he can get them to vote for Jane? He did do damage - made himself look like a total bully picking on the nice old lady, and made them think taking Jane to the end wouldn't be the best idea.)
-Jane says he has a personal vendetta against her and it did kinda come off that way.
Alina - could Marty be hurting himself by being so vocal and harsh to Jane?
- He's just illustrated to this tribe what a strong, strategic player he is and how smart he is about the game. Do we keep him out here?
Dan pipes up - We had 2 people out here steal our food - they took bowls, pan, oil, flour...
Who stole food? - Alina & NaOnka
-NaOnka says "I did it - Alina was just there." She says, "But I gave it all back because I was pushed into a corner and she got punished for it."
How'd you get punished? (Ha! I accidentally typed 'punched' first... That would have made it exciting - but wrong - but... okay just wrong.)
-NaOnka, "No one talked to me."
Benry & Fabio - "Oh Wah!"
Alina, what's your culpability?
- It was hard to admit my part but I did. She goes on to say she'd be a really great swing vote - if you want to go farther you keep the pawn not the powerhouse - and I'm a pawn. (And you're a smart girl and they're afraid of you... nice try though.)

And it's time to vote: Jane & Fabio have immunity (it almost seemed like Marty forgot that fact.)
Jane votes for Marty - She hopes everyone is smart tonight.
Alina votes Marty - It's you or me tonight - may the best argument win.
Benry votes Alina - says she's 100% percent, grade A "dirt squirrel" (What does that mean?.. man, I feel old.)
Sash votes Alina too.

Jeff asks if anyone has a hidden immunity idol and wants to play it... no one does.

Tallying the votes:
Marty 1, 2, - Alina 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... ALINA is OUT! (Darn it - I had hoped Marty would be gone.)

So that means: Lee G, Janine S and Drew C. are out of the pool this week.

Next week : Sash & Brenda struggle to hold onto power and NaOnka lets her freak flag fly at Tribal - gives Fabio the finger and renders Jeff speechless.

Alina gives a bitter farewell address: Why would anyone vote to keep Marty over me? It's Stupid! I hope it bites them in the *ss. (Don't hold back, tell us how you really feel :)

Have a great rest of the week everyone.
