Survivor Nicaragua - Sept 29, 2010 Episode Recap

Glitter In Their Eyes

LaFlor - Night 6
The episode opened with LaFlor returning from the explosive Tribal Council where they voted out Shannon.  Everyone was saying the right things - clear how we feel about each other - we have to unite...blah, blah, blah.
NaOnka said to the camera - "It was so fake!  Fake like faux fur."  She said Alina, Kelly B and Jud were in pure shock - their ringleader was gone and it's gonna bite them in the butt.

Espada - Day 7
-Men & Yve are following the howler monkeys to find fruit.  Jimmy J starts 'howling' back at them. (I was waiting for them to fling poo.)
-Marty tells the camera he's pissed off that everyone is so star struck with Jimmy Johnson. "Why did we get stuck with the celebrity?"  He said everyone has glitter in their eyes, if he walked across the lagoon right now they'd all believe it.
-Later Marty is talking to Jill, telling her that Jimmy J is a threat.  Jill tells him not to get everyone stirred up at this point.  They're all about staying strong at this point.  She tells Marty that she thinks he should tell the tribe he has the hidden immunity idol and he's saving for the merge to keep them strong, yada, yada, yada.

LaFlor - Day 7
-Fabio(Jud) is trying to get a fire started by wearing the scuba mask and getting his face right in there - he takes a huge lung-full of smoke and gets lightheaded - he's cracking wise that he'll take what he can get out there.  He says it's his strategy to be fun to have around but he doesn't just want to be the funny guy, he wants to be kept around for his mind and spirit. (Right, he's no rocket surgeon - he should stick with the goofy, non-threatening thing.)
-NaOnka - he's so stupid - I can't stand him - he's such an airhead.

Espada - Day 7
-Marty says he has an announcement to make and he shows them all the hidden immunity idol - says it'll come into play in a merge situation, we'll keep it until WE really need it. (Yeah, right.)
Applause
-Jimmy T - "You just strengthened this tribe by 5X."  Jimmy T tells the camera  that what Marty just did shows he's a nice guy, he (Jimmy T) would have kept it for himself.
-Jill - Marty's stock went up right there and that's good for me.
-Tyrone - Everyone was impressed with Marty's sharing of the idol but he thinks Marty's shady - doing his own thing.  (See, Tyrone is no dummy.)
-Marty tells the camera that he presented the idol like it was for the tribe but- "we all know the idol can only belong to one person and it belongs to me."

Espada - Day 8
-Dan is struggling - he's got a bum knee but he contends he's not the weak link - he's at least as strong as the women...(yeah... you keep telling yourself that buddy.)
Yve says she's not so sure about Dan.

LaFlor - Day 8
-Pow-wowing on the beach are Sash, Brenda, Chase, Kelly Purple and NaOnka - they think Alina or Kelly B should be the next to go but they're leaning toward Alina.  NaOnka - That's what you get b*tches.
-Alina knows there was a line drawn at Tribal Council and she ended up on the wrong side of it.  She sees them all talking and figures they'll want to keep Ben & Jud around but that puts her and Kelly B in a bad position.

CHALLENGE
-They will race out onto the field to retrieve 10 tribe coloured barrels.  Once they have all 10 of their barrels over the line they must arrange them on individual platforms.  Then they will throw sandbags and attempt to get them on top of the barrels.  The first tribe to get a sandbag on all 10 barrels wins Immunity and Reward: herb garden, fruit, vegies, and spices.
Medallion of Power - they can have 2 of their barrels pre-placed, with sandbags on top.  LaFlor decides not to use the advantage for this challenge.

And they're off - (I don't think Jeff remembers the tribe names because he only refers to them as the older or younger tribe... or is it psychological?)  The younger tribe starts out fast - Jeff is telling the older tribe to pick it up but they're pretty even getting the barrels and start throwing sandbags about the same time.
-LaFlor has Ben throwing and Espada has Tyrone throwing - Tyrone takes them to an early lead and LaFlor switches Benry out with Chase but Ben comes back and starts pouring it on.  Jimmy T is telling Tyrone to gives someone else a shot but he tells him to be quiet - Jimmy T goes to Jimmy J and says you're wasting me here and Tyrone listens to Jimmy J when he tells him to switch out - Jimmy T got one sandbag on the barrels but it didn't help them - LaFlor won Immunity & Reward!

Kelly B & NaOnka both go to pick up the fruit basket and Kelly B conveniently parts the fruit so the camera can see there is a rolled up clue to the hidden immunity idol in there - NaOnka says I see it too. (Kelly B, dang it.)  NaOnka tells the camera, I don't care, I'm going for it.

LaFlor - Day 8
They get back to camp... just barely... and the basket and the girls are on the ground - NaOnka & Kelly B start cat scratch wrestling over the clue.  Nay comes up the winner (surprise) and takes off with the clue. She says this is worth a million dollars as far as I'm concerned.  Kelly is playing it like she's the victim, can you believe that? Everyone is shocked by Nay's bahaviour and unimpressed that she smushed the bananas.
NaOnka tells the camera she knows Kelly B is playing it like Nay just pushed her out of the way and Kelly had no idea what was going on (but we know that's not true.)  NaOnka says she hopes it happens again - "I'll push her so hard that leg will fly off." (Oh, that's horrible... HAhahahha - okay, I can't help it, I'm enjoying her this episode - could be everyone else is so boring.)

-Okay, NaOnka's reading the clue - It has the first line of symbols (Clue #1) and a second line Clue #2... can she figure it out?  Nope.
-NaOnka shows the clue to Brenda (oh, meeting of the minds) so, can they figure it out together?.. Nope.
Brenda says NaOnka has the power right now as far as she's concerned and she's going to stay as close to her as possible.  They are gunning for Alina.
-Umm, I just have to say, didn't Kelly B & Alina get a clue to the hidden immunity idol in the first episode?  Why aren't they trying to look for it?  Hello.

Espada - Day 8
They returned to camp after losing the challenge.  Jill said it was a disaster and tough to take.  Jimmy T addresses the tribe - tells them he feels like he has talents that are being wasted (what a whiny baby - you have to show them your worth not whine about them not valuing you...Gaaah.) "I got skills man - leaving me on the bench can hurt us." Jimmy T tells the camera it must be because he's such an obvious leader (this guy is delusional) ah, but he does admit he has a high opinion of himself... (huh, so slightly self-aware but still having trouble relating normally in this situation - is it because the older you get the less patience you have for getting to know people?  Could be.)
-Then Jimmy T tells Tyrone he stayed in too long and should have let him in - Tyrone says he just wants to win, do you want to win or make sure everyone has a chance to touch the ball?  (Hmm, Tyrone also has a high opinion of himself but I much prefer his attitude to Jimmy T's - that guy bugs me.)
-Marty found the tension enjoyable - maybe we'll finally get this tribe to play the game - it starts now.

-Later Marty & Jimmy J are talking - still want to keep the team strong - Jimmy J says he's sure Dan's in lots of pain with his knee and back... Marty seems to agree but he tells the camera he wants to take Jimmy J out so they'll lose their daddy and they'll have to come to him.

-Marty goes and talks to Jill- "Coach has got to go."  She says, whatever - in her mind Danny, Coach and Holly are all one person so she doesn't really care in which order they go - just tell me who to vote.  Marty thinks Jimmy J is more strategic than the other 2 and he needs to go first.  Again she's whatever (really?)
-Jill tells the camera she doesn't really follow Marty's logic (it's easy, he's jealous of Jimmy Johnson and the respect he garners in the tribe.) Jill thinks Dan is physically the weakest and would rather he go but she doesn't say that - so Marty says, "fine, it's Jimmy J then."
-Marty knows he'll have Dan - Dan says he's sure he's in much better shape than Jimmy J (yeah, you keep telling yourself that... the egos on these guys is amazing to me.)  Jimmy T is on board of course, he's made no secret of the fact that he wants to be the leader too.

-Holly is talking to Jane and seems all paranoid, bug-eyed, jumpy, looking around furtively - she says she's sure it's her tonight.  Jane reassures her she doesn't think so, and she'll tell her if her name comes up.  Jane thinks it should be Danny and Coach is her fishing buddy so she doesn't want to see him go.
-Later Jimmy J is working the ladies down by the water, Jane, Holly & Yve, he says he may not be seeing them for a while after tonight-  they all say nooo - Yve says he's her favourite person there.
-Marty approaches Tyrone and asks if he can count on him for everything (huh?) Tyrone looks leery - Marty gets to the point and says, "How about voting Coach?"  Tyrone, "Ahh, I don't know about that."  Tyrone knows Marty is all about Marty.  Jimmy J's whole life has been about motivating the team - Tyrone would rather vote Dan as he's the weakest - "Dude's got ailments."
-Marty thinks Tyrone is not thinking the game through and that's not smart.

TRIBAL COUNCIL
Marty, what happened at the challenge?
 - We had a little lead going in, lost ground and couldn't pull it out in the end.
Jimmy T, any frustration about how things went down?
 - I always want a little more play time.  They know my skill set.
So you said, "Put me in Coach, I'm ready to play?"
 - I did tell him he's wasting me and I think he knew it and put me in.
Jill, it looks like you're relying on Jimmy J for strategy.
 - We're all leaders in our own fields and it doesn't always gel - he's the most accomplished leader of all of us so we often look to him (Wow, what a neutral statement - boring.)
Jimmy J - is your contribution helping to form the strategy of the challenge?
- I don't think I'm forming strategy - I listen to them and let them make the contribution.  I also fish and give my all in the challenges. (It's like they're all running for office.)
Holly, can you give me an example of Jimmy J's leadership?
 - He calls tribe meeting and he tries to boost morale as much as he can.
Jimmy T - How you getting along with Jimmy J?
 - I don't think we've had the time to talk.
How is that possible?  You've been out her 8 days, you'd think the celebrity alone would have you talking.
Jimmy T - Maybe he sees I'm a threat and he doesn't want to be bothered with that (hmm, me thinks someone's projecting.)
 - Tyrone gives a "Yeah Right" look - What's that look about?
Tyrone - that's baffling to me - Jimmy Johnson being threatened by Jimmy T.
Jimmy J says he thought he had a great relationship with Jimmy T (well now you know how he really feels.)
Jill - you lost the challenge - how much does that weigh on you?
 - A lot - we're up against young, strong looking people.
Dan how do you measure up?
 - Average - I'm not the top, I'm not the bottom.
Jill is that true?
- Well, around camp he's stiff and little slow...
Jane, do you notice Dan stiff around camp? (At this point, Dan looks like he wants to have Jeff whacked but Jeff's still desperately trying to get some fireworks going at this tribal council and they're not taking the bait.)
Jane says yes she's noticed the scar on his knee and thinks it bothers him.
Jimmy T, you get back from the challenge, what went down? (Oh, so we're starting over again.)
 - We're trying to keep the tribe strong by voting out the weaker members and I'm fine with that it's not going to affect me any.
So you're not a weak player.  Definitely not.
Who would you say is a weak player? (Really, really trying to create some drama with that one.)
Jimmy T - I don't want to call anyone out but we have 3 or 4. (Denied.)
Then Jeff proceeds to poll the whole tribe asking if they consider themselves weak and everyone says no except... Jimmy Johnson.
 - I'm the oldest and one of the weakest too.
So, Tyrone, is that a free pass to vote Jimmy J?
 - There are definitely other dynamics but you asked him a direct question and he gave you his answer based on a self-assessment.  (You can tell Tyrone respects Jimmy J and won't say anything bad about him - ever.)
Marty, what's the goal of tonight's vote?
 - I'm anxious to get the game accelerated - looking beyond the weakest/strongest and challenges - there's a lot going on here.
Man, if I didn't think they were thinking about that the last thing I would do is remind them. (He finally gets a good answer and he smacks him down - ouch.)
Marty - Well, I just think it feels like we're doing a lot of waiting around and now the pace is picking up and going to Tribal Council is a big driver of that. (So... it sounds like Marty likes going to Tribal Council?)

FINALLY it's time to Vote - Jimmy T votes for Jimmy J, says "You say you listened to us but you never listened to me - Go long Coach."

Tallying the votes: Jimmy J, Daniel, Jimmy J 2,3, 4, 5 ... JIMMY JOHNSON is the third person voted out of Survivor Nicaragua.  (Wow, everyone voted for Jimmy J - was it him saying he was weak? Or was it editing?)
SO... with Jimmy J leaving us that means: Susan N, Kelvin H and Roxanne S. are out of the pool.

Jimmy J's parting words: I had fun.  I was miserable the whole time but I still love the game of Survivor and it was a great adventure.  It was the most stressful time ever, including his Super Bowls and College Championships.  He says he knows they'll come together and be successful.  (You can stop running for office now.)

Next week: A fierce storm is coming - Hurricane NaOnka!  Kelly B, you knocked me over - NaOnka, screw your leg - keep it away from the fire.  (Ooooh.)

Have a great rest of the week everyone,

Coleen.

The Amazing Race - Premier Episode Recap - September 26, 2010

They Don't Call It the Amazing Race for Nothin'

The 17th season of the Race around the world started out last night with the eleven teams coming into shore on lobster boats in Gloucester, Massachusets, America's oldest seaport - and the teams are:
Brook & Claire - home shopping hosts from Reno, Nevada.  They think they'll do well because they're great communicators, manipulators and they could sell ice to eskimos.
Chad & Stephanie - They've known each other for 8 months and have recently bought a house together - (wow) they say their whole relationship has been moving quickly - Chad tells us he's going to ask her to marry him on the Race.
Katie & Rachel - Beach Volleyball partners from New Jersey - they've been teammates for 5 years, they're smart, tough, athletic and don't have a problem being bitches.
Connor & Jonathan - Ivy League a capella singers - they say tenors are known to be manly, bad-asses (smart asses is more like it - but they seem to have good sense of humor, I think they'll be fun.)
Nat & Kat - Doctors/friends - they're used to stress and sleep deprivation, they are a team of nerds and proud of it.
Michael & Kevin - Father & Son and internet sensations - Michael's an immigrant and Kevin is first generation American so he documents their culture clash and puts it on YouTube.
Nick & Vicki - Tattooed bikers from Las Vegas, want to show people not to judge a book by its cover.
Ron & Tony - best friends, actors, met doing The Wiz - the race has been Tony's dream and Ron wants to help him achieve it.
Jill & Thomas - Dating couple from California, he's competitive and outspoken and she want to prove to him that she can do this.
Gary & Mallory - Father & Daughter - she's Miss Kentucky, he's raised her as the son he never had, hunting and fishing - she says she's used to getting what she wants.
Andie & Jenna - Recently re-united biological mom & daughter - they're getting to know each other on the race, this is their time together.

Phil tells them there will be a new element on the race this year - the first team to check in at the first Pit Stop will receive an Express Pass - it can be used at any time before or during a task they don't want to complete and they can bypass the task and go on to the next clue.  The other thing he tells them is that there are two flights heading out for their first destination but there are only 3 spots on the first flight and it is scheduled to arrive 1/2 hour before the second.  GO!

They run to their packs and the first clue tells them they are heading to London, England then on to Stonehenge to get the next clue.  They are all off in their Smart cars.
-Ron & Tony say one of their strengths in navigation, they have a compass and head south.
-Thomas seems like a jerk - he tells us what college he went to and thinks his education will help him and I get the impression he's held that over his girlfriend's head because she didn't go to college she wants to prove to him she can do this. (See, seems like a jerk.)
-Andie & Jenna - Bio-mom and daughter- this is the first time they've been in a car together - I'm sure we're going to be hearing a lot of that - This is the first time we've ___ together.  We get it.  Jenna gets to see if bio-mom can drive.
-Connor & Jonathan - end up on the wrong side of town - Jonathan says he hopes they make it out of the States.
-Brooke & Claire miss parking lot turn off or they would have been first to the airport.  Ron & Tony make it first followed by my team - Chad & Stephanie.  Jill & Thomas are the next in the lot, she says they're third and he's Negative Nelly, "I wouldn't bet on that." (Grr, he bugs me.)  Volleyball team is next, they decide to try for the first flight anyway, eventhough already 3 cars there (2nd flight is another airline).
-Mallory & Dad get there - she is just way too chipper - Brook & Claire (shopping girls) get on same shuttle and all the girls are shrieking for the driver to take off before Nat & Kat (the doctors) get on - They're all so Excited!
-Ron & Tony are the first on the first flight.
-Chad & Stephanie (my team) get in the regular line to check in (Nooo!)
-Jill & Thomas are second on the first flight.
-Someone who works at the airport tells Chad & Stephanie they're at the wrong counter - they start running.
-The volleyball girls get there and are also running... but Chad & Stephanie make it to the counter and are 3rd on the first flight (Phew!)

-All the other teams are getting to know each other as they're getting their tickets.  The volleyball girls tell Mallory (Miss Kentucky) that they've been calling her Sunshine - she loves that (she's so smiley and giggly - it fits.)  They all realize the green team - the singers - aren't there yet - someone says Jonathan looks like Harry Potter (kinda) and they've been calling them Team Glee (haha - cause of the singing - I like it.)

-Of the first three teams in the other lounge, Ron & Tony and Chad & Stephanie are talking and friendly - Thomas & Jill are off by themselves shooting dirty looks already - did I say I think Thomas is a jerk?

-Team Glee finally shows up and while everyone's glad to see them they have now been discounted as a threat by everyone and the shopping girls say they know not to follow them.

-First flight takes off and they're all gunning for the Express Pass - the second flight takes off and they are all hoping the first 3 mess up so they'll get ahead.
-First flight lands and Jill & Thomas are the first out - Thomas tries to get in the wrong side of the car - Ah, they may speak English but you have to drive on the wrong side of the road.
-Tony & Ron say their first stop will be to buy a map.  Chad & Stephanie, she's driving, also tried to get in the wrong side of the car - then the driving a stickshift with the left hand is really weird.
-Tony is the big boy and he's well educated which he'll downplay in the race (uh, okay.)
-Stephanie doesn't like Chad cussing and yelling at her, she says he used to play football so he gets intense but she doesn't like it.

-2nd flight arrives - Brook & Claire (shopping girls) first out - Claire tells us Brook is one of those people who's just good at everything - has to drive a stick shift left handed - no problem, she just does it.
-Nat (doctor) is a Type 1 diabetic, she's got to prick her finger and check her blood sugar while driving - she's on an insulin pump so she'll have to make sure to take care of herself on the race.
- Everyone is having trouble with the roundabouts.  Ron & Tony got a map but they've still ended up going in the wrong direction.
-Bio-Mom hasn't driven a standard in years and with the stickshift on the wrong side she's having major trouble - burning out the clutch.  She kills the car in the middle of traffic.  The Glee team was right behind them and Connor tries to help her get the car stared/moving but he can't - they take off - Andie realizes that she has to take her foot off the clutch... Ahhh, there they go.

-Nat & Kat (the doctors) are the first team to make it to Stonehenge (and they were on the second flight - everyone is lost) - the clue tells them to find the Castle that is the opposite of NorEaster - they need to figure out they're looking for the Eastnor Castle - where they'll find their next clue.
-Jill & Thomas are the next to arrive and he's pissed someone from the second flight beat them - then Brook & Claire get there right behind them and he's even more mad.  They don't greet any of them.
-Docs ask a local what the clue means, he tells them it's probably Eastnor castle, Jill & Thomas ask to use the internet and find Eastnor Castle and the volleyball girls are there too - glad they caught up.
-The Docs and the Shopping girls team up to find Eastnor castle when they both stop at a gas station to ask for directions.
-Volleyball girls get stuck on a hill, having troubles with the standard- hill-starts are tricky - Rachel gets out to push and Katie guns it and takes off without her...

-Ron & Tony are still lost - they're finally asking directions.
-Sunshine & Dad and the Glee Team get to Stonehenge and get the clue.
-Bio-mom & Jenna and Stephanie & Chad get there - Chad, "I guess we're not third anymore."  Ya think? Try 8th.
-Nick & Vicki and Kevin & Michael (father/son) get there - Ron & Tony are still lost.

Eastnor Castle - Jill & Thomas are the first there and get the clue - Storm The Castle.
-They have to climb a wall at Eastnor Castle (up a wide ladder) guarded by a mob of peasants that shout and dump buckets of dirty trough water on them.  Once they get up the wall they have to retrieve a flag from the battlements then travel across the moat in a medieval round boat, on the other side they take their flag to the knight in shining armour that matches their flag and will get the next clue.
-Brook & Claire are the first up the wall, Jill & Thomas right behind then Nat & Kat - they all get their flags and head to the moat/boats.

-Mallory & Dad get a flat tire - the Glee boys were again right behind the car in trouble, they decide not to wait though and head out - Gary gets the tire changed but he's worried how far they'll be able to go on the donut.

-Back at the moat, they all jump in the boats.... and promptly sink.  They all have to start over, and over, and over.

-Stephanie & Chad and the Volleyball girls get to Storm the Castle, the volleyballers are calling Stephanie Tinkerbell (pixie hair cut.)

-Ron & Tony finally get to Stonehenge - and they lose most of their confidence - can't believe this is happening to them (it's because they said their strength was navigation, they jinxed themselves.)

-First 3 teams make it across the moat by slowing down and concentrating on balance in the round boats.
-Chad & Stephanie get to the boats after the others are gone  - he's all football, testosterone, "We're going to kill this." They jump in the boat and promptly sink, again and again and again - Bicker, bicker, bicker.

-Bio-mom is lost - Nick & Vicki (the tattooed duo) also lost - and of course Ron & Tony have no idea where they are - everything starting to look the same.

-Jill & Thomas get to their knight and get the clue to the Roadblock - one team member must ride out with the knight who will take them to a medieval slingshot where they'll have to launch watermelons at a suit of armour until they knock it over - once that's done they'll get the next clue from the court jester.  Thomas is going to do the task for them.
- Claire grew up around horses so she's going to do this taks for the shopping girls - and if anyone has been on the internet in the past two weeks - you know this task doesn't go so well for Claire...
-And Nat is doing the shooting for the doctors.  They get started and they're all having trouble finding the range.

-Team Glee is storming the castle.
-Stephanie & Chad are still sinking in the boat - its their 12th attempt (ouch.)
-Volleyball girls are b*tches, making fun of everyone.

-Thomas is the first to hit the suit of armour - they get the clue to search the grounds for the Pit Stop!  Thomas sees a knight in the trees and they head over and find Phil & the Mat right away.  Jill & Thomas are team #1 and they win the Express Pass.

-Nat is the next to knock over her armour. They get the clue and are 2nd to the Pit Stop.
-Volleyball girls get to the slingshots.  Kevin & Michael (father/son) are storming the castle.

-And there is it!  Claire pulls back on the slingshot and the watermelon shoots out backwards and nails her right in the face - OMG!  That would hurt so much!  Everyone is just shocked, Brook consoles her and they give her a little time to recover but Brook tells her she has to finish - Are you kidding me?  "They don't call it the Amazing Race for nothin'."

-The Nerds (Team Glee) float right past Chad & Stephanie and it just pummeled Chad - he couldn't believe nerds could beat the big football star (I say it's karma baby.)

-The Volleyball girls are impressed with Claire getting back in there and finishing the task- she's one tough cookie, "Okay, she can hang." (Like she'd want to with you two.)

-Claire finally hits the suit of armour and Brook is a great teammate, she's so proud, gushing, telling everyone she got hit in the face - Claire, deadpan, "I can't feel my face." (Hahaha - I can't help it, I laughed out loud.)
-Connor is the next to hit the armour - Volleyball girl next - they all start running for the Pit Stop behind Brook & Claire.

-Chad & Stephanie finally made it across the moat and he is flinging the watermelons.
-Mallory & Gary just get to the castle - she's so excited to be storming the castle (She's just SO EXCITED)
-Michael & Kevin (Dad/Son)- trying to get across the moat - sinking over and over and over.

-Andie & Jenna still can't find the castle - finally get a map that has the castle on it.  They say they just don't want to let each other down - this may be their only time together.
-Tattooed duo is also still lost - Vicki thinks they may be last but, nope, Ron & Tony are still out there - somewhere - they have no idea where they are still/again.

-Chad knocks down the armour and gets the clue to search the grounds for the Pit Stop - he guarantees it must be on the other side of the castle and they take off running in the totally wrong direction - (Noooo.)

-Gary & Mallory get to the moat and see Kevin & Michael still struggling with the boat. Gary says, "They looked like a couple of carnies in a dunk tank."  Gary & Mallory get in the boat and off they go.  They make it across, in one go, totally dry.  Kevin is telling the camera, "once we figured it out" and Dad cuts in, "we didn't figure it out, the other team went by..." (at least he's honest.)
-Chad & Stephanie are still wandering around the grounds - Chad, "This is the stupid." (No, you are.)

-Andie & Jenna are storming the castle - they thought going up the ladder, this is easy, then they got hit with the cold water...

-Nick & Vicki finally get to Eastnor castle and storm up the wall - then they don't know what a battlement is so they can't find the flags... (They're not really showing us not to judge a book...)
-Gary is doing the slingshot and Mallory is enchanted with the Jester, "Oh, I wish I could juggle on a ball." (If they ever want to distract her, just show her something shiny.)
-Nick was even touching one of the flags, Is this it?  YES!  They finally figure it out, Vicki swears they're not that dumb.
-Chad & Stephanie are still running around the castle looking for the Pit Stop (it's not inside, dummies.)
-Nick & Vicki head down to the moat but can't find the boats now - do we have to go over to the other side and get one? (They ARE that stupid.)  Finally they see the round things and realize..."We're morons."
-Jenna is doing the slingshot for her and Bio-mom.
-Nick & Vicki are sinking in the moat.
-Ron & Tony finally get to the castle and start storming up the wall.
-Chad & Stephanie are still wandering the grounds. (Grrr.)
-Gary & Mallory finish the melons and Kevin & Michael are right behind them.
-Jenna hits the suit of armour and Nick & Vicki finally make it across the moat - he's doing the slinging.
-Ron & Tony get to the moat and sink, over and over and over again.

Here's How They Finished:
1) Thomas & Jill - unfriendly jerk won the Express Pass.
2) Nat & Kat (doctors) - I really like this team, they're smart, tough and efficient.
3) Jonathan & Connor - Jonathan slips on the mat and lands on his butt - shouldn't have run past the girl that got hit in the face... instant karma.
4) Brook & Claire - They say to the camera, we were right in position to come in first - then the watermelon got us - hahaha - at least they're laughing about it.
5) Katie & Rachel - volleyball b*tches
6) Gary & Mallory - (Father/daughter) get there same time as...
7) Michael & Kevin - (Father/son) - and they said these old guys couldn't do anything.
8) Chad & Stephanie - finally find the mat - Chad had a very humbling day - realizes the arguments will affect them negatively and thinks they'll grow on the race.
9) Andie & Jenna - Bio-mom and daughter
10) Nick & Vicki - Phil asks them what country they're in - Vicki says London.  Phil, "Yes, you're in the country of London."  He's so dry, and a little mean... He asks them if they know what place they're in and Nick says 10th, he counted the cars.  She's surprised and so happy to still be in the race.
11) Ron & Tony ***ELIMINATED*** Ron said he just wanted to help his friend live his dream of being on the Amazing Race (didn't do so hot there).  They are both very appreciative of their friendship this won't change a thing.

So, with Ron & Tony leaving so soon, Sandy G, Ozzy R, Elaine & Kevin R, Laura H and Susan N. are out of the pool.  At least now you get to root for whomever you'd like :)

Have a great week everyone,

Coleen

Survivor Nicaragua - September 22, 2010 Episode Recap

Fatique makes cowards of us all.

Espada - Night 3
We opened the episode with the older tribe returning from tribal council.  Holly feels like she's on the outs - she made an alliance with Wendy then voted against her - she knows it's part of the game to lie but she wants to show these people she can kick their ass on Survivor.  (I don't think anyone on the tribe even knows her name at this point.)

Espada - Day 4
-None of the older tribe have been sleeping and they decide the order of the day is to fix their shelter.
-They get together for a morning meeting and Jimmy J starts handing out the assignments.  Jimmy T doesn't like the fact that no one will listen to him and they all follow Jimmy J like he's... a two time Superbowl winning coach.  Marty is fine with Jimmy J taking the leadership role, so he can take the heat when they next have to vote someone off.

LaFor - Day 4
-Sash and NaOnka are talking, she likes his smile.  He tells her he's half black and wants to bring in as many minorities as he can - when the time is right he wants to talk to Brenda too.  He says they want to make as many friends as they can, try to keep the numbers in the game.
-NaOnka says she sees Kelly B as a charity case - her mind may be there 100% but her body can't be 100% and that is going to hurt us. (Really?  And this woman is a teacher... I always hated PE teachers.)

Espada - Day 4
-Holly (Swim Coach) sees Jill (ER doctor) pulling a bunch of snails out of their shells and make a face as she tries one.  Holly knows that face means they are not good to eat.  Jill tells Holly and Jimmy T they should try these and Holly says she can't fool her, those aren't good to eat and she takes the pot and goes and dumps them.
-What the F... Was that? Jimmy T says she's gone off the deep end.  Jill thinks Holly's mental state is not good, and if it's one thing you don't want to appear in Survivor it's mentally unstable.
-Jill & Jimmy T tell the rest of the tribe what happened with Holly and they're all speculating about her strange behaviour.  As she comes back within earshot she hears Dan say she's Crazy as S___.
- Since she's completely delusional, she thinks he's making fun of her and decides to release he anger by stealing his shoes, filling them with sand and sinking them in the water.  Payback, she says. (This is DAY 4!  This has got to be one of the most bizarre and earliest breakdowns I've ever seen on Survivor - the Older team certainly got the crazy end of the stick.)

Espada - Day 5
-The next day Dan notices his shoes are missing from inside his bag... his $1600.00 alligator shoes (I said pardon?)  Still no one is freaking out, they're just speculating on who is playing the game that hard already.
-Holly feels like this game is turning her into someone she's not  - it's draining her (it's Day 5 - don't they have to have some kind of psychological testing before they go on this show?)  She decides she has to come clean (Noooo... you'll just make it that much worse.)
-Everyone is gathered around the shelter, Dan is lying down inside it - Holly comes over and tells them she has something to say - she dramatically grabs Dan's knee (his eyes nearly popped out of his head) and looking him straight in the eye she tells him she took his shoes out of his bag, filled them with sand and sunk them in the water.
-Dan, "if she were a guy I would have knocked her out."
-Everyone else plays lip service to her being honest and playing with integrity from now on but Dan says he'll never trust her.
-Tyrone says Holly keeps getting stranger and stranger.  Every time she opens her mouth it's obvious she's crazy.  I'm keeping one eye on her and one eye on my shoes.  (Hahaha. Cuckoo.)

LaFor - Day 5
Over on the young people tribe, NaOnka has lost one of her socks and she loses it.  "Who took my sock, who's playing games with me."  She stalks around looking for her missing sock, finds another pair of socks, obviously not hers, and just takes them.
-Jud (Fabio) says he can't find his spare socks.  Henry, "Nay's wearing them dummy."  "She is?" (Jud's really is not too bright but he does seem like a sweet soul... he's doomed.)
-Fabio goes over to NaOnka like he's going to confront her but he loses his nerve and she goes off on him, "What are you looking at?"  He has no idea how to respond to her overbearing antagonism.  They decide to hate each other.

Espada - Day 5
-Holly pulls Jimmy J aside to talk to him - she tells him she doesn't think she can do this, she wants to leave and starts crying.  He gives her a pep talk - tells her they really do need her at this point.  She seems to rally and decides to stay but he knows she's still tenuous.

CHALLENGE
-One person from each tribe will crawl through the mud (under a rope crawl) to a stack of hay.  They have to search through the hay for a ball (a bit bigger than a softball) then they have to run the ball to their mat and the next person can go.  Once they get all 4 balls on the mat, 3 other tribe members have to balance/bounce/pass the ball on wooden shields to a barrel - the first team to get all 4 of their balls in the barrel wins Immunity and will also win reward - the choice of a tarp & rope or fishing gear.
-The Medallion of Power advantage - they can start with one ball already in the barrel, meaning one less person going through the mud and one less search through the hay.  Espada decides the stakes are too high on this challenge and decides to go for the advantage.  They hand the medallion over to LaFor for next time.
-LaFor has to sit one member - they sit NaOnka (really?) and because they took the advantage Espada can sit one person too, so Dan sits out.
-They start out pretty even but the young tribe catches up, they start the ball passing and get one in right away - then they get the second in and they're ahead of Espada even with the advantage but they start to have trouble getting the third ball in the barrel and Espada is able to catch up, pull ahead and finally ESPADA wins immunity and they take the fishing gear.

Espada - Day 6
They are all jubilant coming back from winning the challenge.  Holly is glad she didn't leave (I bet).  Jimmy J says in his experience once someone's had a set back like that it's easier to have another - he quotes Vince Lombardi -"Fatigue makes cowards of us all."
-They open the fishing gear and Jimmy T finds the clue to the hidden immunity idol.  Jill reads it out to everyone and they start working together to figure out the symbols.  They figure it out as "15 yards west of the tree man?"
-Everyone takes off digging under random trees.  Jill keeps thinking it over and - Ding - figures out the final symbol is Tree Mail!  She goes and tells Marty (and Dan is there) and they take off for Tree Mail.  Jill figures Marty is smart and a good ally to have.  Marty's not overly enthused to have Dan included but he likes him well enough and figures he can use him later.
-Marty starts digging, Dan kind of stands around then wanders off and Jill & Marty find the hidden immunity idol.  Marty - I GOT THE IDOL, I got the first Immunity Idol... I.. uh, We, we got the idol.  Jill - Yeah, we. (That was pretty telling, I think Marty is smart and I hope he appreciates Jill's sharing of the clue enough to stay loyal - but I wouldn't bank on it if I were Jill.)

LaFor - Day 6
They're all bummed having lost to the old people.  The boys are talking and surprised that Kelly B killed it in the challenge.
-NaOnka is also surprised Kelly B did well in the challenge.  Nay said she sat out to see if Kelly B would use her leg as an excuse but she was awesome - NaOnka was so proud (sure you were... backfired didn't it?)  No one is thinking of voting Kelly B now.
-The boys want to vote out NaOnka, especially Jud after the whole socks debacle.
-Alina & Kelly B are discussing who they want to vote out and they feel NaOnka made enough of a fool of herself that it will be easier to get rid of her later, right now they want to vote Brenda out, she's too close with Chase.
-The guys tell Kelly B they want to vote NaOnka, she says why, Brenda is way more of a threat.  And like that they're going for Brenda.
-Shannon & Benry pull Chase aside to talk to him, they know he's tight with Brenda but they tell him she's playing him and Shannon goes on that they can't let the women have power, with Sash they have 5 (he's so hung up on the women taking over - it's weird - and it makes me hope they totally do.)
-Chase feels torn between alliances - he's not sure what to do.
-NaOnka and Brenda are talking - NaOnka sees Shannon is the ringleader, talking to everyone but them - she wants to vote Shannon out - then Jud (Fabio) cause she hates him.  Brenda likes her list.
-NaOnka asks Brenda if Sash has talked to her about their minority alliance - she laughs.  Brenda tells the camera she's got people on her side and she's not even doing anything (they all better watch out for this one, the face she shows them and the face she shows us - is not the same.)  They agree they're voting Shannon.
-Chase goes and tells Brenda that they want to vote her out first.  She asks him why he needs Shannon? - I don't - why don't they take Shannon out? - We should.  Of course they weren't smart enough to make sure no one could overhear their conversation... and Alina heard the whole thing - thinks they're screwed.
- Alina tells Fabio, Kelly B & Shannon what she overheard and that Chase is not with them- Shannon is not happy.

TRIBAL COUNCIL
Jeff - Shannon, how much more difficult has this been than you anticipated?
 - It's been brutal, I've never been camping before but I'm sticking it out.  It's been interesting we've had people say we're all together and now I'm finding out there's no loyalty.  We'll see - He better hope his girlfriend stays with him on this tribe tonight, cause if not he'll be going home next.
Wow!
Chase - He's talking about me.
Who's your girlfriend? I guess he means Brenda.
Shannon - Everyone knows it's Brenda.
Chase says he's been between alliances the whole time.  The only people he trusts are Brenda and Henry and he came there tonight not sure who he's going to vote for, Shannon or Brenda (TMI dude, shut it.)
Shannon - All your talk of honesty and loyalty, where's that been if you've been lying the whole time.
(It just seems Shannon's trying to run roughshod over everyone but Chase especially and it's really making him mad that it didn't work - it's probably especially making him mad because his chosen boyfriend is siding with a woman - how dare he betray him that way?)
Jeff flabbergasted at how much whoop ass came out of his first question.
Shannon is still going off and Jud raises his hand - I'm just trying to tell Shannon not to make enemies man, he gets so angry so fast and it's too early for that.
Shannon - make enemies? He's trying to vote me out.
Brenda, you're conveniently placed between them with Shannon losing his mind behind you (you can tell Jeff is secretly LOVING this.)
Brenda - I think a certain weakness has been exposed - it's hard to trust him (Shannon).
Shannon starts polling the rest of the tribe -Do you not trust me? I tell you to vote one way and I'm honest - most of them avoid answering.
But do you really think it's the smartest move to throw it all out there before the vote?
Shannon - that's just the way I am.  I speak my mind (What I heard: I am the alpha male, they should all just follow me.)
(I don't think the young ones are all that smart.)
-Sash pipes up - "He's digging his own grave."
-And Shannon strikes back - "I'm going to get this out of the way - Are you gay?" (WHAT? I had to rewind it, I couldn't believe someone would self destruct that completely at Tribal Council this early.)
Shocked and disbelieving looks all around, except for Brenda's satisfied little smile - and he kept it going.  Sash says he does alright with women in New York and Shannon says,"New York if full of gay people."
Jeff repeated it - in shock at the ignorance of that comment... (mouth hanging open...)
Jud - Be Quiet, Dude.  We are a tribe for the next 2-3wks...
Jeff tells him to get his head out of the trees, they are definitely divided.
Alina, is it foolish to believe you can trust someone just 6 days into a million dollar game?
Very foolish and surprising everyone's saying they can't trust Shannon when he hasn't lied but Chase has.
Henry, surprised trust is this big and issue?
It did happen fast - all of a sudden there are two alliances and I don't know who to trust now either (Shannon didn't like that.)
Brenda, why are they targeting you?
I think Shannon wants to take out a strong girl but I'm not sitting here all day plotting (wow, she's got the innocent act down - we'll see how long that will work for her.)
Shannon pipes up that it wasn't just him, they were going to vote NaOnka but the girls thought Brenda was a bigger threat.
NaOnka, news to you?
I thought they might vote me cause I sat out of the challenge but we were such a tight unit...
Jeff tells her to get out the tree Fabio's in...
I don't want to be in that tree.  I don't like Fabio.
He's sitting right behind her throwing his hands up.  See the attitude I have to put up with.
NaOnka - am I complicated? Noooo.  (No one making eye contact... again.)
Jud/Fabio - Can we vote already? (I'm with you buddy.)
Hold on - Kelly B, what's the criteria for voting someone out tonight?
Kelly B - We have to determine what will bring us together to win more challenges.  I think that's how people will vote tonight. (Not with Shannon having shot himself in both feet and one hand...)

Finally it's time to vote:
Fabio votes Brenda - I guess this is still the game plan.
Brenda for Shannon
Shannon for Brenda
Sash votes Shannon - Shouldn't have messed with the biggest bachelor in New York (okay, over selling it now.)

Tallying the votes:
Shannon, Brenda - Shannon 2, Brenda 2 - Shannon 3, Brenda 3 - Shannon 4, 5, 6 and the second person voted out of Survivor Nicaragua is SHANNON!  Haha, couldn't have happened to a nicer homophobic misogynist. So, with Shannon leaving that means Alexis G, Brittany & Sarah R and Laura H are out of the pool.

Shannon's parting thoughts  - Biggest mistake I made is I should have gunned for Chase.  They lost a leg and both feet (get over yourself).  These are a bunch of kids - I should have been with the old tribe.  I've been married for 11 years (wait, what?  He's been married since he was 19... Ohhh, it's starting to make some sense to me now.)  He hopes the older folks jump on them and they get what they deserve.

Next week - LaFlor has to make a game changing decision with the Medallion of Power.  Jimmy J is talking to the monkeys and NaOnka strikes - "I'll push you so hard that damn leg will fly off."  (I see she's making friends all over the damn place :)

Have a great weekend everyone,

Coleen

Survivor Nicaragua - Premier Recap - Sept 15, 2010

Young at Heart

Last night was the first episode of Survivor Nicaragua and it opened with all the Survivors walking in the jungle. They are already in two groups so they think these are their tribes… “think” being the operative word.

Blonde boy Jud says there are monkeys everywhere and “it’s like real – no fences like a zoo.”
Jimmy Johnson is among them, he’s a two time Super Bowl winning coach and he thinks nothing could top it off better than winning Survivor.
Old guy Jimmy T says there is an older mafia boss looking guy who looks like he’ll push Jimmy’s buttons, he doesn’t like his buttons being pushed (Keep in mind, no one has even spoken to each other yet – calm down there Jimmy.)
One of the young girls, Alina, says there is an old guy with grey hair (Marty) who is pissing her off already – she hopes he tries to take a leadership role and gets kicked off quickly.
Brenda is young and single, very single, and flirty – she’ll use that if she has to.

The two groups come in from different directions and stand before the All Powerful Dimples – that is, Jeff Probst. Jeff asks them if they’ve already formed opinions on each other.

-Dark hair, plaid dress – Yve – says definitely you learn a lot from everyone walking in, not just by how they’re walking but how they’re watching the other people.
-Kelly B – young, dark hair, pants – tells us she’s had her right leg amputated and is hiding it so people don’t make assumptions about her abilities.
-Marty (grey haired guy) – says he wants nothing to do with Jimmy Johnson out there, doesn’t know why he’s even there.

Jeff tells them somewhere in this lagoon area is a Medallion of Power which can give you a huge advantage in this game – it is a tribal power, not individual. Go Find It! And they all take off running around looking for this thing. Brenda, young, long dark hair, sees the medallion up in a tree and quickly climbs up there and gets it. Her ‘team’ all high-5 her. - Jimmy J - I don’t even know your name but you done good.
-Alina noticed on the way back to Jeff that Kelly B has a limp, wonders if she has a hip problem.
-Marty thinks his tribe has the Medallion and that it’s huge for them to win something this early in the game – Jeff says it would be great if that were the case but… this isn’t how the tribes are going to be divided.

Jeff tells all those over 40 to go to one side and all those under 30 to go to the other. The young ones are jubilant – the oldies, not so much. The Older tribe is Espada and they’ll be blue – the Younger tribe is La For and they’ll be Yellow.
-Jimmy J wanted some of those young people to help carry him. Chase Rice (my yummy race car jackman) was really disappointed to lose the great Jimmy Johnson from his team.

Jeff then tells La For they have a decision to make – they can keep the Medallion for the unknown power or trade it for flint and fishing gear – whatever they don’t take will go to the other team.
-First they think they’ll keep it – NaOnka wants the POWER (I think I would have kept it, it could have been the best advantage ever, you don’t know!) – Jimmy J hopes they keep it so they’ll get the gear – then Jud says he’s much rather have the gear and fish/food it can provide them so in the end the youngies give up the Medallion and take the gear.
-One of the young guys – Shannon – says he doesn’t want to underestimate the old team but he sees no reason why the young ones should lose to them.

Espada – at camp
-Marty introduces himself to Jimmy J, pretending he doesn’t know who he is… right – Americans are football crazy – they all know Jimmy Johnson.
-Jimmy J says all the adventures he’s had in his past, he’s been the one in charge, here he doesn’t have that. He thinks some of them may be awe-struck by him and he’s ready to play on his superstar status – but he knows that some of them may resent him for it too.
-Marty’s filling Dan(mob boss guy) in, that that really is the Jimmy Johnson.
-Holly (swim coach with bad curls/headband combo like Olivia Newton John in the 80’s) she’s all hyper and comes up to Wendy tells her she likes her right away and trusts her and she’s with her all the way. (HUH?) She says being a swim coach she’s a really good judge of character and she’s usually right. (We shall see.)
-Wendy tells the camera she’s a little naïve, sheltered. She says she’s a ‘goat rancha’ so she’s not used to a lot of people. He goal is not to be voted off first but she talks a lot and her husband thinks she’ll be the first to go, she says she’s going to hide herself from her tribe and bite her tongue for a while.
-Marty tries to talk to her, asks where she’s from and from her western attire says she must like horses – she says yeah and walks away – he thinks she’s weird.
-Jane, dog trainer, grabs some coconut husks and a pair of reading glasses and has MADE FIRE within minutes! GO JANE! She says she’s 56 yrs old and many may write her off but she’s the kind to keep busy. It’s very important for her to win the money so she can pay off her farm and she lost her husband in ’09 so if she wins she hopes she won’t have to work so hard. Oh… Go Jane!
-Marty is so impressed with Jane making fire – says this tribe has just as much going for it as the young group does.

And I just gotta say, are they all from the South? There are an awful lot of twangs going on this season, let me tell you.

LaFor – at camp
-High 5’s all around. Sash, dark hair, lots of stubble – “We’ll dominate. Great beach, great waves, beautiful girls – doesn’t get much better than that.”
-Jud – Surfer dude blonde hair – “These are my people.” He steps on a twig and gets a huge piece stuck in his foot.
-Shannon – dark hair, blue eyes – says the guy with the long blonde hair (Jud) is a dumb blonde. I don’t think I’ve ever called a guy a dumb blonde before (they show Jud pick up a little crab which promptly pinches his finger and he freaks and flings it off) Shannon – He’s just retarded. (Not politically correct – but possibly true.)
-The other young guys take to calling Jud “Fabio” – Jud didn’t realize they were talking about him at first, thinks Fabio is kinda cheesy but whatever, he’s going to win so they can call him Fabio all they want. I guess I’m Fabio.
-Shannon and Chase are off on their own and Shannon says they are obviously going to be perceived as the Alpha Males so they should team up – Boston Rob and Russell could have run the place last time if they had teamed up.  Shannon says whatever they do they can’t let these girls take over – "we already get owned in marriage, there’s going to be a woman president soon (?) We have to sack up." (What? I’m thinking he’s not getting married anytime soon after this airs.)
-Kelly B is paranoid about her leg, she thinks everyone is staring at her and decides to call everyone together and reveals her prosthetic leg. They ask questions – it was a birth defect – someone calls her a RockStar – Jud/Fabio asks her how she makes it move… (She’s not a cyborg dude.)
-Shannon tells the camera he feels for Kelly B and if they voted today he’d give her the money but if they lose to the old folks, she has to be the first to go cause she’ll win in the end with the sympathy votes.
-NaOnka says she’s not giving her any special treatment – “You feel you can out run me, let’s race girl.”
They show Kelly B take off the leg and go out swimming with everyone – my friend Lynne said, “If Russell was there he would have thrown her leg on the fire.” Bah, hahaha! He probably would have tried.

Espada – Night
Jimmy Johnson is throwing up – and everyone knows it. (Oh Hollywood.) He says he over-did it, in the excitement of being there he just did too much getting wood, etc.
-Jimmy T says he’s got to be careful, he’s not a young man (Jimmy J, 66 – Jimmy T, 48 – but he looks older and he has bitch tits.)

Espada – Day 2
-Jimmy J is grousing to his tribe mates that he got zero sleep, bugs biting him all over, cold and sick (nice violin music playing for him, well played CBS.) He says he’s seen every minute of Survivor and he never imagined it was this difficult (then you weren’t really watching – wait until it starts raining on you too old man.)

La For – Day 2
-Brenda & Chase are talking, bond on football & Jimmy J – she was a cheerleader for the Dolphins and he thinks she’s cute. They flirt and he, for some reason, really trusts her (oh, no) he doesn’t want to have two alliances going though, he doesn’t want to be a dumbass this early on.
-Brenda tells the camera she’s used to having guys do what she says and for some reason Chase just came up to her and told her the guys have a little alliance going on (Chase, Chase, Chase, I’m shaking my head) She’s going to use that information to get her to the end. She knows Chase trusts her and he’s a really nice guy, but he’s clueless.
-Alina & Kelly B are going for water (I think) and find a clue to the hidden immunity idol attached to the water barrel. They read the clue it says they can choose to share it or not – they quickly say they’ll keep it secret – but they can’t decipher the symbols so they hide the clue in some trees to come back to it later.
-Alina tells the camera she’s not happy to kinda be forced into an alliance with the amputee girl because of this shared find. She wants to get rid of Kelly B because no will win against the sympathy vote (wait until they learn her Dad died in the earthquake in Haiti – she’ll be gone so fast her head will spin.)

Espada – Day 3
They get tree mail.
-Jimmy J says their team needs motivation and that’s one thing he can help with. He tells them all to take a knee (not really but he did tell them to huddle up) he tells his tribe that he knows there is no way a jury is going to give him a million dollars and he knows that, but he wants to make sure that one of them wins it, nothing would make him happier than to make one of them a million dollars (it was a good speech, very sly of the silver fox to take that tack, we’ll see how it works for him.)
-Tyrone – is giddy, “I just got a pep talk from Jimmy Johnson.”

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE
-LaFor comes in with the girls chanting and dancing – Espada not impressed.
-Two Kelly’s on the LaFor team, they decide the blonde Kelly with purple on the ends of her hair will be Purple Kelly and the other is the Gimp.(oh, I’m going to hell for that one.)

The Challenge – One person from each team will be at the top of their tower pouring buckets of water down 5 sections of gutters that 5 other tribe members will hold up to make a channel down to their barrel – when the barrel is filled (takes about 5 buckets full) a net with puzzle pieces will fall and the rest of the team can get busy solving the puzzle. First team to get the puzzle done wins immunity.

*Medallion of Power * gives the team holding it an advantage in the challenge. Should they choose to use it in this challenge it will then go to the other tribe in the next challenge. In this challenge the tribe with the medallion (Espada) is offered to have a full bucket load of water prefilled in their barrel.
They confer and figure this isn’t a very physical challenge, they are on an even playing field with the youngin’s on this one so they’ll save it for now. They do not use the Medallion.

-And they are off – both teams are working pretty well and getting good water flow into their barrels – the young ones seem to have a bit of an edge because the water pourer seems to be getting more in the chute – and LaFor is the first to release their puzzle pieces but Espada is right behind them. It’s all women working on the puzzle – Jeff says it’s wisdom vs enthusiasm... yeah, sure.

But it is so close… and La For (the young ones) wins the First Immunity!

Espada – Back at Camp
-Jimmy T – 48yrs old – says to the camera he feels knocked down by the game already. To some of his tribe mates he tells them he’s voting Jimmy J. Marty tries to interject and Jimmy T gets super agitated, “I’m not going to not be heard here” – he thinks Jimmy J is hornswoggling them all – of course he wants to win – then he says he’s got to calm down and storms off. (oooh kay then.)
-Jimmy J is off talking to Holly, he says they have to take out the weakest player, he thinks it’s either himself or Wendy but he thinks the team will be stronger if they get rid of Wendy.  Well this sends Holly into a tizzy because she impulsively made an alliance with Wendy on the first day – now what does she do?
-Wendy thinks she’s on the outs, no one’s really talking to her, she hasn’t made a bond with anyone, and Holly won’t even talk to her. She’s concerned.
-A bunch of them are huddled in a circle debating Wendy or Jimmy J and no one will commit or voice who they’d rather vote for… (Getting to know you, getting to know all about you…)

Tribal Council
Jeff – Let’s talk about first impressions. Jane, what’s the first impression people usually have when they meet you?
Jane – They might call me a Southern Hillbilly.
Jill (short red hair) pipes up – I call her Survivor McGuyer cause within an hour of hitting that beach she had a fire going, she can do anything here.
Jeff – So Jane, did you know you could do it?
Jane – Hell yeah, I knew I could do it cause I read an article that you wrote and you said why would anyone come play Survivor who didn’t know how to make fire. So she listened and learned how to make a fire, practicing for 2 months before she got there.
Jimmy T, how big were the first few moments for you in making those first impressions?
-Unbelievable you know, where I come from I have the power, when I talk people listen. And when you get here, you have people that are stronger and you have one of the greatest leaders in the NFL and it’s very frustrating, I’m just another player here. (Oh waaa.)
Jimmy J, when you hear something like that do you feel a target on your back?
-I’m not the boss but I’m going to be a target every tribal council, I know that. I’m not a threat to anybody, no jury’s going to award me a million bucks, I know that – I’m not here for the money, I’m here for the adventure (Tyrone looks at him sideways – uh huh) I’ll only be here as long as I can help this team be successful.
Jimmy T, can you buy that?
-No way, he’s here to win this thing and I think he can win the game. If he leads so well and deserves to win the game, the jury’s going to let him win that game.
-Jeff asks Marty something about everyone being leaders and was it a shock – Marty says something about being careful not to be too much of a leader, making sure you don’t lead in such a way that it gets you into trouble (spoken like a true executive.)
-Jeff asks for a show of hands of who thinks they’re in trouble – about half of them raise their hands. He asks Holly why she thinks she’s in trouble and she gives some gibberish answer about making an alliance right out of the gate and not agreeing with the weak links Coach laid out.
Wendy, why do you think you’re in trouble?
-I don’t think I connected very well with the people here. I was very busy but some people talked at the camp and I don't feel like I got a lot of that. They would be quite surprised if someone asked me some questions. Not one person here asked my age.
Yve – that’s one question I never ask anyone.
Holly – I asked you.
Wendy – no you didn’t.
Tyrone – you’re not supposed to ask a lady her age (yeah) He’s looking at her like, here comes the crazy. She’s 48 – Tyrone – sarcastic, you look so young.
Wendy, that’s typically not a question you’d ask, it’s interesting it has you tweaked.
It doesn’t have me tweaked, I just think it’s interesting – Maybe I should start to toot my horn, maybe that’s what I need to do… (Oh, here it comes… she’s got the crazy eyes) maybe I should have been talkative and talk talk talk and driven everyone CA-Razy – but I was quiet and that’s not me, I have the nickname the chatter box... (and then she lived up to it, she wouldn’t shut up – Jeff even tried to wrap it up but she asked if she could say one more thing) I can bring a lot to the tribe with my leadership, I’m friendly, my strength, strong-willed, people like to be my friend, people like to be with me, they trust me all the time - and trust is important... (everyone is shifting and uncomfortable and she just made up their minds for them… Bye bye Wendy.)

They Vote:
Wendy, 1 – Yve, 1 – Wendy, 2,3,4, 5 – First person voted out is WENDY! Her husband is psychic.
So with her leaving through the graveyard (yeah, she had to walk through head stones) that means that Krista H, Jeff T and Ryan H are out of the pool (but they get their money back.)

Wendy’s last rambling thoughts – I guess the whole game is fair, this is probably the only time in my life I was reserved with strangers, I know if I had been myself it would have worked out better (I wouldn’t be so sure) I didn’t hear that they wanted to get to know me better, I wish I could go back, maybe put me on the young people’s tribe.

Next week on Survivor – Holly is shown filling Dan’s shoes with sand and sinking them in the water. On the other tribe Jud is getting on NaOnka’s nerves and at Tribal Council the first question asked opens a bunch of whoop-ass (ooh, sounds great!)

Until next week,

Coleen
