Survivor Heroes vs Villains - FINALE Recap (May 16, 2010)

I will preface this recap by saying the finale was a three hour extravaganza so instead of my usual 'replay', I've tried to make it more of an actual recap so we don't spend all day here people.

Anything Can Happen

Yin Yang - Night 36
We opened with the tribe returning to camp after Rupert was voted off and Sandra played her truly hidden, hidden immunity idol.
-Parvati says to Russell he has to admit it was a good play.
-He says it was a terrible play - it shows that she lied, she was safe today.
-Parvati said he played and idol when he didn't have to - and he says it was a terrible play for him.
-He says to Sandra she straight up lied to him and she says - what, if I find an idol I'm supposed to hurry up and tell you?  Everytime you had an idol I found out after the fact. (Yeah, they don't all bow to you buddy.)
-He says he doesn't want to talk about it anymore, what's done is done.
-Parvati - it doesn't seem like what's done is done.
-Russell - cause you lied to me Parvati - I don't believe you didn't know.
-Parvati - I did not know about it.
-Russell - You're lying to me.  (Back and forth a bit)

-Russell then runs around and talks to Jerri & Colby saying that Parvati is lying through her teeth. And he thinks she needs to go next.
-Colby loves the disfunctional family of Villains fighting - takes the attention off him.

Yin Yang - Day 37
They get tree mail about steady hands and shattering dishes.
Russell says if Colby doesn't win individual immunity he'll have to go home - if he does win Russell will have to make a tough decision.  Says idealy for him it would be, him, Sandra & Jerri in the top - Sandra didn't play the game at all (Oh yes she did, just behind your back) and Jerri didn't play the game at all.  The jury doesn't even have a decision, they almost have to vote for me. (Wow, the ego on this guy is truly amazing.)  Best thing to do is probably get rid of Parvati.

Immunity Challenge #1
They will stack dishes on the end of a long, wobbly, balancing arm - when the dishes fall, you're out.  We made a little side bet that Colby would be out first, as that was his form all game... but Sandra was the first out - also not very surprising.  Then they started falling - Jerri, Russell and finally Colby loses his dishes and Parvati wins Immunity!

Back at camp:
-Colby gives his, "I know I'm going home, I'm not going to hustle, Let's enjoy the day" speech (Hmm, that sounded very familiar, he gave that speech once before this season and didn't go home.)  He tells the camera he's not actually giving up, he hasn't quit anything in his life (then he gets all choked up - manly cowboy choked up) then he says he is going to make one more attempt.
-Parvati goes off in the trees, Colby sees Russell at the fire and Sandra out in the water (Go talk to Sandra!) but no, he talks to Russell.  Makes his pitch, if they get rid of Sandra tonight, then the three of them have a better shot of getting rid of Parvati tomorrow.
-Russell thinking about it - he doesn't trust Sandra but if Colby goes to the top three his game is over.

Tribal Council #1
Jeff pretty much calls out Colby for sucking this whole season.  Colby agrees, he needed to win immunity and he didn't- but he proceeds to tell Parvati if she hadn't won immunity they'd try to get rid of her because no one wants to sit next to her in the final, then he taps Sandra and tells her that everyone wants to sit next to her.
Sandra - this is Survivor - you can't trust nobody.
Parvati - listening to Colby say if I didn't have this necklace I'd be going home tonight is news to me.  I"ve been promised the moon - I don't trust anyone.
Russell -You just have to trust your alliances but sometimes it doesn't work out that way.
Colby - the Villains run through these implosions and that's what you want.

They all vote Colby out anyway.  He did Outlast all the other Heroes though.

Colby's final thought - I know if I had won that challenge today I would have had a shot at the million dollars.  It's disheartening when the challenges used to be something I was good at.  I guess I just wasn't destined to win this game.  (Hmm, that's what Rupert said.)

Yin Yang - Day 38
Russell talking to Jerri - saying they have to win Immunity today because if they don't Parvati's going to win.

WALK OF REMEMBERANCE - weirdly, it's like they're all dead... I guess they are dead in this game.
Blah, Blah, Blah - get to see James oiled up one more time, thank you - light a big burning man at the end - Whatever.

Final Immunity Challenge
-They will have to navigate a Survivor Maze - Blindfolded!  Series of guideposts where they'll have to use their fingers to feel the symbols - they have to make their way to 4 stations and pick up necklaces then make their way to the end and get the final Immunity Necklace!
-They all do pretty well - as usual Sandra is bringing up the rear the whole challenge. Russell & Parvati get the 4th necklace and are blindly racing for the end when Jerri catches up (GO JERRI!) and it is a three way - blind mice - stumble to the final post and... RUSSELL wins Final Immunity!  (It was so close - I think that was one of the most exciting finishes to a final challenge ever!)

Yin Yang - Day 38
Back at camp - Jerri says Parvati is going home tonight.  She's not going to cry about it.
-Russell & Sandra talking in the bushes, he tells her she's in a really good spot - she tells him she doesn't expect to win, she'll be happy with the $100K.  He says no matter what he's keeping Sandra, she'll get Courtney's vote that's it - she can't beat him.
-She's feeling wonderful because Russell says he's keeping her around because she'll only get a single vote - "But I don't know about that."  (I love Sandra, she seems like the more grounded one out there.)
-Jerri asking Russell who Parvati thinks they're voting for and he tells her she thinks it's her (Jerri)- really?
-Russell talking to Parvati says he wants Sandra with them - she tells him Sandra's got Amanda, Candice and Courtney's vote.  He says he wants to get rid of Jerri because he's sure he's got her vote.
-Russell tells us Parvati doesn't think she can beat Sandra and she certainly can't beat me so her best bet for second is to get rid of Sandra.  His best strategic move is to take Jerri & Sandra to the final.  He's sure he'll get Jerri's vote but if he sends Parvati home he's not sure if he'll get hers.  This tribal council will be an extremely hard decision.

Tribal Council #2
Jeff asks Jerri what she did differently this time after the challenge.  She says she usually goes and chills out by herself but today she didn't leave camp.
-Sandra says she went to the person who had immunity and told him she was the person to keep - I'm not going to win - he knows that, he keeps telling me that.
(Parvati looks like she's ready to cry...)
-Jerri - Parvati's a huge threat - she's been kicking butt and has lots of friends on the jury.
-Parvati says something about Russell wanting to redeem himself, as far as Villains go (Oh, he doesn't care about that) she and Russell have been protecting each other this whole game. (Oh he didn't like that.)
-He says he protected her... She says, we protected each other.

They vote - and JERRI is voted out (Wow, I thought he'd get rid of Parvati - is that a shred of decency? Nah.)
Jerri's final thoughts - Crap!  One more night.  I was so sure I had it.  I'm leaning towards voting for Russell.  He's played an amazing game, for the most part he makes decisions that make sense - except tonight. (You know, when Jerri first played this game - I HATED her with a passion but she seems to have mellowed and matured - this was a good showing for her, fer sher.)

Yin Yang - Day 39
Sandra says she's trying to stay focussed on the game but her husband is in Afghanistan and she's wondering if he made it through today or what her kids or doing or her dog. It's not easy but to her it's worth it.  This is how I hustle, this is where I make my money.  This is what I'm good at, I come here, make my money, go home.
-They get their final feast.  Russell almost feels like tearing up, he's made it to the end - again.  It's a lot harder than you really think.  Russell feels good, says this time he's bringing two people that no one really likes.
-Russell asks Parvati if she would have voted for him, she says no, she'd have voted for Sandra.  He says he'd have voted for her. It's every man for himself now.
-Parvati says she's embraced her Villain side this time around and she's put her heart and soul in this game and she's there to win.
-Russell walks away up the beach and Sandra makes the best play of the game so far - She throws Russell's hat on the fire! "That's how much game I got."  Russell is obnoxious, I took his hat and threw it on the fire - I don't care.  Screw it, that's payback for all he's done to me in this game.
-Russell comes back and is looking for his hat - have you seen my hat?  Both of them are playing the innocent, 'no, I haven't seen it.'  He says he's not leaving there without it. (but they do have to leave and Parvati burns down the shelter.)
- Sandra - it's not about the money tonight, it's about the title of Sole Survivor, that's all Russell wants, that's what I have to make sure Russell does not get.  There was not a day that went by when she didn't think about what was the best way to get rid of Russell - those Heroes, they were all responsible for their own destruction.  I had to hustle and take care of myself.  I want the title of sole survivor.

FINAL TRIBAL COUNCIL
Opening Statements:
Sandra - Sole Surviving since her alliance was wiped out.  She tried to get rid of Russell three different times - had to work her way around things at camp and tried to take precationary measures so when she came here (Tribal Council) with her torch lit, she left with it lit - and she did that by herself.

Russell - Everybody says this game is a game of luck - in some cases I believe it is, but in my case, I don't believe it is.  I played as hard as I possibly could play and for some reason, when I come here, people look at me like I did something wrong.  You know - I tried to play hard and if I offended anybody I apologize but I played the game - that's all I can say.

Parvati - Came into this game knowing I was going to play with 20 of the best Survivors ever (good, playing to their egos) - what I didn't know was the threat I was going to be to everyone so immediately I had to put a line of defense together and that's where Russell came in - He was the dragon (Coach shaking his head at that - don't you know HE is the Dragon, sheesh.) Instead of slaying him, she kept him as her pet.  And he displayed his loyalty to me in the end, and only to me.  I think I played the ultimate social game, strategic game and physical game.

Jury Addresses the Finalists:
Colby - Russell, did you just say there was no luck in you getting here?  You're delusional.
          - Parvati - what strategic play did you make beyond the challenges?
-She says she was a target from day one and she's there against God's plan - she feels she had to fight harder and thinks the strongest play she made was the day she had 2 idols and chose not to save herself but to give them to Sandra & Jerri to ensure their loyalty to her.

Coach - Final 3 Villains - Parvati - charmer and manipulator, Russell - schemer and liar, Sandra - coat-tail rider (huh? who's coat-tail has she been riding?)
Starts with Russell - You can be a very little man in stature and also in word and the example you've set here should have been 'Only the Penitant shall pass'(very LOTR of him) - If you came to this Tribal and said you'd crossed the line, you could have been one of the strongest men in the game.
Sandra - It's known that I'd take the strongest to the end and unfortunately you were fairly useless in challenges.  I play with strength, honour and integrity and I wish I could be there in your stead (But you're not - and when did this become about you?  Oh, yeah, it's Coach.)
Parvati - Dead wrong about you, that you'd be weak in challenges - you were a warrior in challenges and I respect that - Ironic twist of fate is the day I finally trusted you was the day you turned on me.
-As a Christian man, he gives his word he has no preconceived notion of who he's voting for but he's watching and listening and taking it very seriously voting for the million in this game that he loves. (Oh, man, just sit down you poser.)

Amanda - Sandra how was your strategy better than Russell & Parvati's?
- She pretty much points out it wasn't but makes sure the Heroes know that she tried to help them and get Russell voted out repeatedly but they would keep running back to Russell.  It was so frustrating [that they were so stupid].  (I think that won her the Heroes' votes right there.)

Courtney - Congratulates the girls - Parvati you're athletic as hell.  Sandra you're as loyal as hell.  Sandra makes some speech about when I say I have your back I will totally have your back (huh, I guess that applied to Courtney but not so much to Jerri - remember last week when you said you had her back?)

JT - Russell - A good strategy is getting to the end of the game and then winning the game.  You did well getting to the end but do you think you did well perserving the votes of the Jury to win?
- I believe everyone is going to respect my game play.  Especially this group of people that have played the game before and knows how hard it is - I may not get anybody's vote but I have to stick to what gets me here and then hopefully they will respect the way I played the game.
Parvati - How'd you think you did?
-I love Sandra, but I was a huge threat.  She gave 50-60% in challenges, no one thought about voting Sandra off.  I had to do good in challenges - everyone was tryong to vote me off.
Sandra - Did you only give 50-60% in challenges?
-No, I gave 110% but I'm not a physical person.  BUT - I wish I knew you were going to throw that thing in Russell's bag cause I would have intercepted it and thrown it right back and told you you didn't know what you were doing. (Parvati - Me too.)
JT says he's not sore about how he went out of the game- he made his bed and he can lay in it - he's not out for vengence.
-Russell - I know and everyone looks at me like I'm the Devil (because you are the Devil, Russell)
JT tells him to lay in his bed like he (JT's) laying in his.  Cuts Russell off and goes sits down.

Danielle - says it's clear Russell has a lack of Jury Management skill - judging by how it's going so far would you change how you played the game?  He says no.  She baldly tells him - No one respects how you played the game Russell, no one will vote for you.  He still maintains he has no regrets and wouldn't change a thing. (Like talking to a rock.)

Jerri - After the last immunity challenge the plan was to vote Parvati - when did that change?
Russell said he thought about it all day and realized it was a bad strategic move to keep Jerri cause she didn't do anything to anyone on the Jury so they would vote for her.
Parvati asks if she can tell her what he said - tells Jerri Russell told her he wanted to vote her out because he was 100% sure Jerri would vote for him. (ORLY?) Jerri - You know what they say about assuming.
Then Jerri called out Sandra on the whole having your back thing - you didn't do that for me.
Appreciates the insight and is done.

Candice - Russell - have to tell lies in this game but you went too far, you told dirty lies, ones that hurt people (Really? What did he tell her?)
Parvati - Played under Russell's thumb like a spouse in a bad abusive relationship and you never got out of it - I wanted you to get out, wanted it so bad for you. (Okay, what's she talking about?  She has no clue.) I like you but I can't support that.
-As tough as this game is, it comes down to how you treat people, it's not just what you stand for but what you fall for too. (That was weird, it was like she was talking to herself there.)

Rupert - Russell - to be honest in this game is a very hard thing - to be a manipulative, deceiving, lying person is very easy - you took the easy way out and if you think you should be proud of how you got here - you are sadly mistaken.
Sandra - sitting here listening to your answers makes me feel even worse about my game play.  I wish you and I had talked more but I had been swayed by, what I consider, a disgusting human being.  You opened the door up for us and we kept slamming it in your face. (Russell almost rolled his eyes, there was a sigh.)
I want to say thank you from the Heroes, whether they give you their vote or not - you deserve a thank you.
Sandra says 'you're welcome' then gets a little choked up.
Parvati - very, very strong player - you may have aligned yourself with terrible... - she said she had no choice - no one else would align with her- whole tribe wanted her out.
He continued - she (Parvati) (and Sandra) deserve the vote because she worked to get there - she fought to be sitting there and she deserves to be in the final 3.

And they VOTE:
Jerri votes Parvati - She's perplexed
Candice voted Sandra - line blurred between Heroes & Villains, Sandra puts family first - true Hero
Danille voted Parvati - Surprise
Courtney voted Sandra - fist bump
Coach voted Parvati - wrong about you, you are a warrior. "King Arthur's journey is offically ended" (OMG, he's so cracked - and they threw in an eagle call there - come on! Don't encourage him... I think they're trying to make him the loveable loser - but he's just a loser.  Harsh, but true.)
Rupert voted Sandra - Honoured to write your name down again and give you a million dollars - love you.
(I don't think Russell got any votes - Again. Ha, ha, ha!)

Jeff gathers the votes - tells them, "We couldn't have asked for a better group of people to play in the 20th season of Survivor - thank you all."  Then he walks off into the trees and emerges on a sound stage in New York City...

Reading the Votes:
Parvati - 1, Sandra- 1, Parvati - 2, Sandra - 2, Parvati - 3, Sandra - 3, 4, 5!  SANDRA is the winner of HEROES vs VILLAINS!  She is the first two time winner.  Good for her!

And with Sandra winning that means: Jeff T. and Andrew W. are the Winners of our POOL as well!  Congrats guys.

REUNION - in brief
-Russell contends that they should let the American people vote for the winner of Survivor.  Jeff says that is not this game - this game is specifically, a group of people voting each other out and then they decide at the end who wins. (Yeah!)
-Russell gives Sandra credit for burning his hat - he was flustered by that and it rattled him for final tribal (I just thought it was funny.)
-There was a vote for the stupidest move in Survivor history (so far) among Erik giving up immunity and getting voted out - James going home with two idols in his pockets, Colby taking Tina to the final with him, Tyson switching his vote to Parvati and going home and JT giving a hidden idol to Russell - and the winner was JT! (Surprise.)  He just got a tiki with a plaque, must be so proud.
-And the Sprint player of the game as voted by the American people - between Rupert and Russell - was Russell - seeming to solidify his contention that he would win if the people voted (Just shows me that the people are stupid.)
- We get to see the first Survivor baby - Boston Rob & Amber have a baby girl Lucia Rose (Aww.)

And in the fall, Survivor will be heading to Nicaragua - with all new contestants.

So, thank you all for participating in the pool!  I'm on my Summer recap vacation.  See you in September.

Survivor Heroes vs Villains - May 13, 2010 Episode Recap

Loose Lips Sink Ships

Yin Yang - Night 33
-Straggling back into camp after Danielle was voted off Parvati goes to Sandra and says she thought Rupert was going home.
-Rupert - It was a wonderful Tribal Council for ME - everyday my chances get better to win this thing. (Really? Rupert thinks he can win this thing?)
-Parvati talking to Jerri finds out Jerri voted for Danielle because Russell threatened her.  Parvati thinks he was jealous and he wanted to make sure it was just Parvati and him.  She totally distrusts him after the move he made (getting rid of Danielle) - Russell is the biggest Villain this game has ever seen (don't tell him that - he'll be so proud.)
-Parvati says she still has to be nice to Russell cause she has to get Rupert and Colby out - then she can deal with Russell after that.  Russell slithers up to her and starts spinning his lies - that Danielle was trying to get Parvati out.
-Russell thinks getting rid of Danielle saved his butt. As soon as Danielle said she and Parvati were closer than he thought -  it clicked and he knew he had to get rid of Danielle.
-Parvati, talking to Russell & Jerri - is looking for reassurances that the 4 Villains are staying strong now - Parvati - You're not going after me or Sandra next.  Tonight was crazy.
Russell - It wasn't crazy, especially after what was said at Tribal.
-Russell says to the camera that he doesn't believe Parvati anymore - all of a sudden she's worried she's next, that tells him she feels he just got rid of her main alliance. (Oh, come on, you just turned on your own - how's she supposed to feel?

Yin Yang - Day 34
Tree mail - Sprint box says Open Now - inside is a Palm Pre - they have to go through a bunch of aps to finally get to videos of loved ones telling them they are there on the Island.  Colby's brother (Colby's the pretty one), Parvati's dad, Sandra's uncle, Russell's wife, Jerri's sister and Rupert's wife (Oh no, are we going to have to watch him maul her again?.. And wow, Rupert is really skinny right now.)

Reward Challenge
-Part of the Reard in today's challenge is spending time with their loved ones.  Hugging - Crying... Russell's wife is kinda hot. (Hey, I just realized they never did loved ones in Samoa.)  Oh man - they made me cry.
-So the challenge - Survivors have to scoop water from the ocean then throw the water from their pail to the loved ones pail, then the loved ones must dump their water down a chute to fill their bucket and raise their flag - first team done wins Reward.  They will fly to neighbouring island where they'll see the 'blow holes' (I said pardon), eat burgers, soft drinks and take with them the Palm Pre by Sprint.
-They get going - Russell & Jerri are neck and neck - the funniest was Colby getting so frustrated and yelling at his big brother, "tell me what you want me to do" (I recognize that sibling dynamic - oh, and Colby still sucking at this challenge too.)
-In the end JERRI and her sister Jennifer won Reward!
-Jeff tells her she can choose someone to go with her - Russell expects it will be him - she chooses Parvati.  Then Jerri asks Jeff if she can take one more and he says okay so she chooses... Sandra! OH BURN! (Russell is going to make her pay for that.)
-Boys heading back to camp and Russell ranting that Jerri made a terrible strategic move - all 3 girls - good thing I got rid of Danielle last night.  Rupert - Damn Straight.

Reward - The Blow Holes
- They're holes in the volcanic rock where the ocean shoots up like geysers - they were throwing coconuts in the holes and having them shoot out in the air - Fun!  Then they ate and played with the product placement.
-Jerri is worried that Russell is going to target her now - she knows he's really really mad.  Parvati assures her they have her back and Sandra says Russell's only way to the end is to get rid of those guys.  What's he going to do?  Have Rupert & Colby vote against you?  (Ah... Yeah.)

Back at camp
- Russell is still ranting - What was she thinkin? Would have made more sense to take a guy, strategically.
- To the camera Russell says he was fully expecting her to take him - He's been protecting her this whole time (Buddy, really?  No one likes you - you threatened her yesterday, why would she want to spend time with you?  He just doesn't understand wanting to take a break from the game.)
- Russell - Rant rant rant, "Hope that burger tastes like a million dollars, cause it was a million dollar decision." - and Rupert's like his little lap dog, just lapping it up.  Russell says he wants to cement something with the guys - they all shake hands - Final 3 (Yeah, right.)
-Rupert says to the camera that he wants to trust Russell but he is a Villain - but he's the best Villain I got.  If I can take a Villain to the final, I think that guarantees me the million.
-Colby asks Russell if he thinks he can get Parvati or Jerri to vote with them - he thinks Jerri and they can send Parvati home.
Although he's mad at Jerri, he knows he can control her the most - he knows Parvati's his biggest threat for the million (Hey, he must have learned from last time.)  He's got to think about winning this game.
(Hey, I just noticed they're almost out of bananas - why isn't Rupert freaking out?)

Yin Yang - Night 35
-Ladies come back to camp and Rupert's the only one up - Jerri wanted to talk to Russell but he was sleeping so she tried to sleep... Tried being the operative word.
-Rupert decides its a good time to saw wood, throw logs around to break other logs and chuck things on the fire - basically being loud and keeping everyone up.
-Jerri says he's an ass - he's loud, obnoxious, selfish and totally inconsiderate.  She doesn't know if it's cockiness or complete stupidity (I think it was Colby who said he was totally clueless) She's leaning more towards stupidity.  She wants him gone so badly. (I want to know why no one said anything to him, I would have.  You don't mess with my sleep, ask my husband.)
-So, because no one could sleep, Jerri got up to talk to Russell.  She said she was really worried that he was going to be mad at her - he says he wasn't mad (Uh huh) he just wanted to see his wife.  Then he starts the snow job - he just wants to make sure it's him and her in the final 2 - she says she's all for it (I bet.)
-Russell tells the camera that he now feels he's all powerful and he controls it cause he controls her.
-Jerri says to Russell, he can trust her no matter what - he says he was worried Parvati was trying to sway her from him and she says no way.
-Russell tells us he's not going to say anything about voting Parvati out - he hopes one of the guys wins immunity then he'll deal with Jerri's vote on the way to Tribal Council.

Immunity Challenge
With their arms outstretched they will use the tops of their hands to hold two poles against an overhead board - if they lower their hands even slightly, the poles will drop and they'll be out of the challenge. (Ouch, that's a hard one.)
-And they begin - 15 seconds in, Shadow of Colby is out (WTH?), less than a minute in, Sandra is out... little later, Russell is out... Jeff Just Keeps Talking... Jerri hasn't moved a muscle, and she's out. SHUT UP.  It's down to Rupert and Parvati - they're both hanging on by a thread but Rupert drops a pole and PARVATI wins Immunity!  Russell makes a disgusted sound - I hope that was at yourself buddy, cause you didn't win it either.
-Rupert says Parvati literally saved herself - hopefully it will be Plan B tonight and Sandra will go home.

Yin Yang - Day 36
Russell - Parvati wins immunity so that makes his decision very easy.  He says to Parvati - it's Rupert for sure.  She's on board - Fully.  The way he sees it - he can't get rid of Parvati so he's going to have to flip on these guys.
-Sandra goes to Rupert and says she wants to get rid of Russell so bad but the girls won't do it - he's so bad everyone thinks they'll win against him.
-Rupert went running straight to Russell and tells him the girls are pushing for him to go, especially Sandra.
-Sandra & Parvati are lying down in the shelter and Parvati sees Rupert talking to Russell (Russell shushes him and tries to sidle away...) Parvati asks if Sandra said anything to Rupert.
-Rupert tells us he's trying to keep Russell on edge and believing the guys are his solid way to the final 3.
-Russell goes and confronts Sandra - "Are you with me or against me?"
Sandra - I'm against you, Russell.
Russell - You're against me, you're the next going home.
S - You're not going anywhere.
R - I know, I'm comfortable.
S - I'm comfortable too.
-Russell walks the 8ft back to the fire and Sandra yells over to Rupert - "Rupert, loose lips sink ships."
Rupert - Yes they do.
S - And yes, they just did. (Ooh, so cryptic.)
-Parvati yells over to Russell - Who invited Boston Rob back to the party?  'Are you with me or are you against me?' [Giggling with Sandra] (Parvati's one of those girls that needs minions for her power.)
-Russell - What are you on over there, cause you're being stupid. (He mutters to Jerri & Rupert that they're making his decision very easy.)
-Jerri to the camera - I don't know what's going on - the camp has turned into a crazy town.  She says she was up all night listening to Rupert make loud noises and piss everyone off then Sandra and Parvati decide to start pushing Russell's buttons?  Are you kidding me?
-Russell says he wouldn't mind getting rid of Sandra - Rupert jumps on that.  Russell says to the camera - you aggravate me and I'll be gunning for ya... he might need to wait to get rid of Rupert.

-Sandra says Parvati assured her that she and Jerri would not vote for her so it doesn't matter if Russell is mad.  It's day 36 and her last chance to use her hidden immunity idol - she says she'll take it to Tribal but she's confident and not sure if she's going to use it.  Meanwhile she gives Russell a sly finger. (Seriously? Anyway you slice it that was a stupid move.)

Tribal Council
Sandra, at the last Tribal Council a Villain went home, what was the fall out?
 - The fact that Russell & Danielle fought made a light bulb go off in Rupert's head that maybe if Russell and I fought he'd be saved again.
So Rupert tried to stir something up between you?
 - Rupert and I exchanged some words so he went running to Russell who then came running to me "Are you with me or against me?" and I was upset. (Rupert looks confused.)
So Russell, tell me about your argument with Sandra.
 - Rupert told me Sandra was trying to throw me under the bus and I would really like to know if that was true or if Rupert was trying to stir up trouble.  So I went to my alliance, Sandra, to find out.
Did you go up to her and say, hey, I heard something and I'd just like to know... (Parvati laughs.)
Sandra - No - He said Are you with me or are you against me cause you can go home next like Danielle - that's what he said.
Russell - she has written my name down twice, so should I really trust her all the way?  So I asked if she was with me or against me.
I assume she said she was with you.
Russell - No, she said she was against me.
Sandra - That's what I said?
Parvati - Tries to lighten the mood - She said "I'm against you Russell" (sinister and joking.)
Russell - So she's against me.
Sandra just shrugs, (what can she say, she is against him.)
Is it still Heroes vs Villains, Parvati?
- Obviously not, with Danielle going home. She was a solid Villain from day one for me.  So there is definitely room for switching it up.  I don't see a benefit in voting out another Villain.  When it gets down to the final 3, I think it has to be all Villains.  If a Hero squeezes in there they have more friends on the jury.  So I want to keep my Villains here.  (Russell is hearing her and Rupert's not happy about it.)
Rupert, what would be the reason to get rid of a Villain tonight?
- Strategically - in the final 3 you want to be the top Villain or the top Hero or whatever - that you had the game play to get you there and you even turned on your own to get you there.  That's the game.
[Parvati turns and looks at Russell] She says she felt Rupert was talking to Russell there, she doesn't think she's the top Villains (Oh, you so do.)
Russell says he doesn't know who Rupert was talking to.
Rupert says he was talking to any of the Villains who want to show they're the top (Uh huh.)

Time to Vote:
Sandra votes Rupert and Rupert votes Sandra... (Oh, she better play that idol!)
Jeff says if anyone has the hidd... And Sandra stands up (that's my girl) - "Should I let you finish?  I wasn't going to play the idol but I got mixed feelings at Tribal so I'd hate to go home with the idol in my bra. (Rupert is SHOCKED! But the Jury is loving it, well Courtney & Candice anyway.)
-Russell asks Parvati - You didn't know?  No.  She's bad.

Jeff reads the Votes:
Rupert - 1, Sandra - 1 (doesn't count), Rupert - 2, Sandra - 2 (doesn't count), Rupert - 3 - that's enough - RUPERT is voted out.  So that means Brittany & Sarah R. and Roxanne S. are also out of the pool. (So close.)

Rupert's final thoughts - Maybe I'm not destined to win Survivor.  I thought I had this one but I'm proud of how I played.  I walk out of the game knowing I may not be as tough as I was 6 years ago but I'm still pretty darn tough... I don't need to win Survivor to know that I'm a winner.
(All the Villains voted for Rupert, it was only Colby & Rupert who voted Sandra.)

Preview of the Finale - Parvati telling Russell she's been his girl the whole time - He says she's lying.  The war between the Heroes and the Villains will finally come to an end - Jerri says she's the one in control - Colby asks - sending me home?  Russell - that's the idea.

**THE FINALE IS THIS SUNDAY - MAY 16th ***
Who's still in it:
Colby - Lindsay J & Jodi S.
Russell - Steve H, Jacqueline D.
Jerri - Lee G., Carol-Anne D.
Sandra - Andrew W, Jeff T.
Parvati - Cheryl J., Susan N.

Good luck everyone,

Coleen

AMAZING RACE FINALE Recap - May 9th, 2010

Huger Than Huge

The three remaining teams - Brent & Caite, Jet & Cord and Dan & Jordan will race for the Million dollars - starting out from Shanghai...
-Brent & Caite are the first team out at 2:37am - get the clue that they'll have to fly 6Kmi to San Francisco, California.  Once there they had to make their way to Battery Godfrey, a little known stronghold overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge, where their next clue awaits.  Brent says it's been great travelling the world but they can't wait to get back to the States.
-Cowboys next out at 3:11am - Cord says they've never won a competition together so winning this with his brother & best friend would be pretty awesome.  Jet says he doesn't know if he was more excited to be in the final three or heading back to the States.

-Brent & Caite get to the airport and the marked ticket counter - sign says the flight out to San Fran will be at 10:45am - Brent - Holy Schmoly we have a long time to wait.   The Cowboys show up and they jokingly try to direct them somewhere else - they all hunker down for the wait.

-Dan & Jordan are the last heading out at 6:00am - Jordan is so excited to be heading to San Francisco - very gay-friendly place, that's good for him.  Dan - this is the Super bowl of the Amazing Race and they have the athletic talent and brain power to win.

-So the Brothers show up at the airport - Brent & Caite are against the wall, Cord is lying on the ground getting some shut eye and Jordan puts his pack down between Brent & Caite and Cord - He figures he's now second in line (WHAT AN A-HOLE!)  When the ticket counter opens, Brent & Caite are checking in and Jordan's standing there right behind them - the Cowboys can't believe he's actually thinking he's checking in before them - He says he put his pack down, he's next in line.  The Cowboys start talking to each other about what they'd like to do to him - throw him across the airport, kick his ass - but they won't actually lay hands on him - they expect people to have integrity but that's not always the case - Jordan is just rolling his eyes and keeping his back to them - he has no intention of moving. (I would be livid - actually, I wouldn't have let his pack stay where he put it - screw that!  I'm quite the line-up Nazi - don't ever try to budge in front of me in line.)  Hopefully sweet Karma will come for them.
-Jordan, while checking in says to the camera that it's a game and that's how it's played - "You can hate the game all you want, just don't hate the player."  (Wow, that is not how everyone plays the game - I guess that's how he's justifying it to himself but me-thinks he knows how crappy that move was.)
-Jet says it was a wake up call for him - these people don't care about people, they just care about money.
-Dan - We haven't done a dirty thing this whole race but this is the final three - No one is helping anyone anymore - those days are done.  They're all on the plane and Dan has a brainwave - to move up to First Class (are they allowed to do that?  I guess they're just not allowed to buy first class tickets.) He talks to a stewardess and they get moved to first class - they're going to be the first ones off the plane.

-They land and Dan & Jordan are the first out by a long shot - Dan says, "This is huger than huge, all the money's on the table, baby."
-Brent & Caite are the next out and the Cowboys are the last in the cabs, as usual.
-Dan & Jordan get to the first clue and it's a riddle - they have to figure out their next destination is Coit Tower - a historic landmark in San Francisco.  They ask their cab driver if he knows what the riddle is talking about - he doesn't know.
-Brent & Caite's cab driver doesn't know where they need to go - they hop out at a map to look for the Battery.
-The Cowboys' cab comes upon Brent & Caite, see they're not at the clue but looking at a map and they drive past them - made up a place - whooo!
-Dan & Jordan still trying to solve the riddle - ask a guy on a bike and he knows right away - Jordan says people that ride bikes are smart, it's a general rule (sure.)  They head off for Coit Tower.
-Brent & Caite are having more of a language barrier with their Asian cab driver in San Francisco than they did in China - both of them are freaking out a bit, snapping at each other.
-Cowboys get to the cluebox and read the riddle.  They had bought a book in the Shanghai airport - a travellers guide to San Francisco and Cord knows that was in the book - they take off for Coit Tower - Good book investment!
-Brent & Caite's driver is still lost - the Cowboys cab passes them going the other way and their driver wants to help but they stop him - "this is a race, we don't want them to find it." "Oh, really?"
-Brent & Caite's driver takes them to a dead end and they literally freak out - she calls him a dumbass and screams for him to turn around, Brent tells her to shut up and she starts crying - they're still lost.

-Dan & Jordan get to the tower and they can see a clue fluttering from one of the windows at the top of the Tower - they head inside and get the clue for the ROADBLOCK.  One team member must make a completely vertical climb up the outside of the tower using a vertical ascender (up a rope), once at the top they'll grab the clue then be lowered back down the rope to the ground.
-Dan is going to do it for them - he's more athletic and not petrified of heights.

-Cowboys almost to the Tower - so excited their hearts are pumping - about to shake out of their shoes - Oh My Gravy.
-Caite's yelling at the cab driver - Battery Godfrey, Dumbass!  Brent - You're not helping.

-Dan's climbing and he's getting there - but he's also getting tired, starting to slow down.  The Cowboys get to the Tower and Cord's going to do the task for them.  They see Dan's almost to the top - Jet - You can catch him. (If anyone can, it's one of the cowboys.)

-Brent & Caite finally get to the Clue box - We've got to rock & roll through everything now.

-Dan gets the clue and is back down before Cord's even started (Damn Safety First!)
-Next clue tells them to find the Yoda Fountain - it's located at Lucas Films, home of Industrial Light & Magic. (Yes, it's THAT Yoda - Star Wars geek-gasming a little.)
-Cowboys say "Bye Guys" as they run by but the Brothers ignore them - "Huh, not very talkative are they" - "Kind of pissy."
-Dan & Jordan jump in their cab - the driver doesn't know where the Yoda fountain is but they ask him to get moving and to call in and ask on the go.

-Cord starts up the ropes - he's doing pretty well but it's tough going for him too - it's all arms - Oh My Gravy.

-Brent & Caite stop at a business/hotel and ask them the riddle - find out it's Coit Tower.  Back in the cab Brent says - Let's just shut up and let him go.

-Brothers get to Lucas Films and the clue box which is surrounded by storm troopers and Darth Vader (Cool) The teams must now join forces with Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) - one team member must put on a motion capture suit and enter the sound stage - their partner will direct them through a series of levels inside a virtual world and lead them to their next clue.  Dan's going to be the director and Jordan the searcher - they are led away by storm troopers.

-Cord gets to the top of the tower and gets the clue - "Hot Dog - Riding bulls is a lot easier than that was - that'll wear your arms out."
-Brent & Caite are on their way to the Tower, hoping they're not too far behind everyone.

-Dan is in the director's area in front of a computer screen with a head set on - Jordan gets suited up in a skinny suit with balls all over it - (The Geek factor is completely lost on them. Dan's not a gamer and Jordan's never seen Star Wars - This task would be so cool!)
So they start - Dan is giving Jordan directions but forgets to tell him to stop and Jordan's just trucking along - going out of bounds - they have to start over.  Dan tells him they're going to do this right, go slow - Jordan tells him to give him good directions then.

-Cowboys get to the Yoda Fountain and Jet seems to know a bit, recognizes that their escort are Storm Troopers - "at least we're well protected." (He doesn't drink beer but he knows Star Wars, I guess there is some hope for them after all :)  Jet's getting suited up and Cord goes to the director's cubicle - he hears Dan directing Jordan and just starts pretending he's directing Jet - calling out ballet moves, spin!  Dan's confused then trying to block Cord out (Cord is such a little stinker! But they did deserve it.)
-Dan's pissed off - he looks around like he wants someone to tell Cord to stop it - (It's a game bro, don't hate the players.) Dan & Jordan complete level one.
-Jet can hear Cord yelling - Do a back flip, do a sashay - "Am I really going to have to do all this stuff?"  So they finally get started and it's going to be fun.  Cord tells Jet to look for the start marker - Jet - I can't see anything you have to walk me through it (uh oh.)

-Brent & Caite get to the Tower and Brent's going to climb for them (that's a good choice since it's all arms.)

-Jordan & Jet are slowly walking around an empty room - if you didn't know what was going on they'd look like mental patients.  Dan & Jordan get to the final goal and the clue comes up on Dan's screen but it's text spinning 'wicked fast' around Jordan's avatar and he's got to try to read it - yikes.  They figure out if Jordan moves his head or body to the left it slows down... start spinning.
-Meanwhile Cord's got Jet in line to get through the first level but Jordan's standing right in the way.  Jet won't bump into him or try to get around him. (Come on - he's being too nice to prove a point I think.)
-Cord hits the divider and tells Dan to move Jordan out of the way - Dan tells him to shut the f' up - Jet sticks his head around and says he's going to have one of the Star Wars guys take him out (Ooh, trash talking.)
-Jordan's getting dizzy, thinks he's going to throw up - Cord tells Jet to watch out.  Jet says he thinks he's fixin' to start spinning around again.  Dan, "Jordan, start fixing to spin around." (Ha - okay, at least they still have a sense of humour about it all.)
-Jet finally moves forward and they get to the next level.
-Dan is finally about to get the clue down - it went something like "Long, long ago, on a hillside not so far away they built a Polynesian haven called Tonga." Dan & Jordan are done - Dan starts yelling different instructions like Cord did to them but when he does it it's just douchey.
-They must now make their way to the Tonga room - a tiki bar - where their next clue awaits.
-The Cowboys get to the final level and the clue starts spinning around on the screen. Cord hopes he's not supposed to read that.
-Brent & Caite get to the Yoda statue - Brent says he's doing the directing so Caite heads in to get suited up.

-Dan & Jordan tell their cab driver they have to go to Tonga - the cab driver knows that one - and they're off.

-Cord's trying to read the clue - Shoot - where's the Slow Mo on this thing? (Come on guys, remember Jordan spinning?  Hello?)
-Brent is now directing Caite - she's doing pretty well considering Brent's instructions don't make a whole lot of sense at first.

-At the Tonga Room they have to grab a trunk and take it to their next destination.  There's a sticker on the trunk that says the Great American Music Hall.  Dan & Jordan ask someone who says she knows the area where that is but she's never heard of it.  Uh oh.

-Cord finally asks Jet if he's looking around - gets him to spin to the left and the words slow down. "Oh you idiot...That's why Jordan got so dizzy." (Oh My Gravy!)
-Brent & Caite get to the clue and it's going just as fast - Holy Schmoly.

-Dan & Jordan ask at the hotel desk (the Tonga room was in a hotel) about the Music Hall - they get directions and find out it's a 10-15 minute walk.  Off they go carrying the trunk between them.

-Cord finally gets the clue down and Brent & Caite finish right behind them.  Cord can't believe he couldn't figure that out (me neither - but he did get kicked in the head... I'm just saying.)  They're all heading for the Tonga in the cabs when Caite asks "Where's all our money and stuff?" Brent -"Are you serious?!" They have to go back and get their stuff (Argh! Not the time to be screwing up.)

-Dan & Jordan are starting to have troubles with the trunk - it's big and getting heavy - they stop to change sides/arms and carry on.

-Cowboys get to the Tonga Room - Get their trunk and ask a cabbie where the music hall is - they get cross streets and literally start running through the street with the trunk like it's nothing.
-Dan & Jordan are still struggling a bit with the trunk - ramming it into each others legs - bickering.  They finally get to the Great American Music Hall and get the next clue.  Get Yourself In Order - Inside the steamer trunk are eleven psychedelic posters representing the eliminated teams and the three non-elimination legs - they must put the posters up in order of when the eliminations and non-elimination legs occurred - Once they get the order correct they'll get their next clue.  Jordan says he's got this sewn up; he's written it all down.  He says he's watched every season of the Amazing Race and he knows the final challenge is usually some kind of memory challenge so he prepared.
They flew through it and got the next clue no problem.
"Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, to get to the finish jump over to __________. (Oh, that's so simple.)
They take down all the posters and Dan shouts that he's figured it out - Candlestick Park (it took that long) he brags that he's a football fan so he was able to figure it out (I'm a nursery rhyme fan so I got it faster.)
They head out to look for a cab.
-Cowboys get to the Music Hall - they start putting up the posters - it's going pretty quickly for them too but not quite as organized.
-Dan & Jordan are having trouble finding a cab (and where are Brent & Caite, they stopped showing them at all.)
-Cowboys get the order right and get the clue - Jack be nimble, Jack be quick gave Jet Candlestick Park right away (huh!)
-Dan & Jordan finally find a cab... This is it!
-Cowboys get a cab - the driver asks them if the Rodeo is at Candlestick - It could be if we win this.

Inside the stadium all the eliminated teams are lining the way to the platform where Phil is waiting for the winning team - we watch the entry to the field and DAN & JORDAN win the Amazing Race!
(Wow, the dark horses pulled it out in the end!)  They said it was the most incredible experience and solidified their relationship as brothers and best friends.

Cowboys came in second - they are also brothers and best friends.  Jet says there are some things more important than money - the experience with his brother and to come through the race with their character and integrity intact - they can hold their heads high.  (Oh, little dig there at the end.)

Brent & Caite came in third and everyone is clapping for them except Brandy (and Carol is doing a grudging slow clap)  Jordan is yelling encouragement to Caite, his little Peach and Brandy whips her head around to glare at him. (Wow, get over it. She is so petty and immature - but wait it gets better....)
Phil asks Caite if she met her goals - she said she just wanted to prove she's an intelligent person (Lesbians give each other a look) she made it around the world and finished the race - she's very proud of herself.
-Phil stirs the pot - says Caite was the only woman left standing but there was another female team... Caite turns to address them, "Yes, and..." Brandy cuts her dead, "I don't want to hear sorry from you.  You purposely whacked us. Other stronger teams like the Cowboys should have been U-turned but you're not able to think logically."
Caite - Maybe if you treated people nicer.. (EXACTLY!)
Brandy - Obviously you're not able to take it.
Caite - I am taking it, I'm standing here not you. (Yeah! You go Barbie! - I'm Team Caite on this one.)

Then all is forgiven as all the teams congratulate the finalists and winners.  They will all cherish the experiences of the race.  Jordan says he will hold on to this moment forever.

WINNERS - DAN & JORDAN =
-SHARON R.
-KIM B.
-CHERYL J.
-ANDRIA S.

Congratulations Everyone!

Survivor Heroes vs Villains - May 6th Episode Recap

Sinking Ship

Tonight there will be two immunity challenges, two tribal councils and two more Survivors will meet their fate.
The tribe returns from voting off Amanda...
Yin Yang - Night 30
-Jerri tells us Tribal was interesting.  Candice helped them out but now she's a threat.  Anyone that flipflops that easily can just as easily flip back, so they don't need her anymore.
-Rupert to Colby - everything was working except our own Heroes - Candice was a pitiful player, so weak, greedy, manipulative - she killed us.  She deserved to be on the Villains tribe.  Colby & I are stuck on a sinking ship now - there are no other Heroes (he's so dramatic.)

Yin Yang - Day 31
-Russell to Sandra - it's going to be fun from now on.
Sandra - Why, they mad at you?
Russell - Just Rupert and Colby not talking to me, what game to they think they're playing?

-Rupert - I think Russell's a deceitful person (Nooo...) Anything he says is a lie - He could be worse than Johnny Fairplay - I have to say something to show the Villains how bad he is and let them decide if they want to be involved with that. (Still, he's no getting it - they'll gladly hitch their wagon to the Devil to go further in the game.)

-Rupert says to Russell in front of everyone that he's proven himself a disgusting, terrible human being to swear on his kids lives like that.
Russell: It is the game and you really (bleeped) it up for yourself.
Rupert: If you want to swear on your kids and call it the game that's fine.  I've played it twice and people see I'm not a liar.
Russ: You think I care what you are as a (bleeping) man? (Rupert's getting to him, lots of F-bombs coming out.)
Rupert: I think you don't give a damn about anybody but yourself and I think your team should know that.
Russ: Rupert, I'm a Villain - I'm gonna make your life Hell.  The Great & Powerful Rupert, the good guy - You're such a dumb ass.
Russell tells the camera he doesn't want Rupert there cause he's trying to stir up stuff and make him mad (and it's working - the making him mad part anyway.) Pack your stuff - get your tie-dye ready cause you're going home.

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE #1
-They will be standing barefoot on a small wooden perch with one hand raised in the air and tethered to a suspended bucket of water.  The last person standing with arm raised, whose bucket hasn't tipped will win Immunity.  Jeff also tells them he will be tempting them with food and there will be a twist at the end of the challenge (he holds up a rolled clue - looks like hidden immunity clue to me.)
-Rupert and Parvati have both played a variation of this challenge but the little perch is new.
-One minute in and Jeff says he's going to tempt them - Sandra says she wants it - he hasn't even told them what it is.  Russell copycats and says he wants it too so Jeff tells them to step down and they both do - OH, the water is coloured - nice.  Russell & Sandra get to share a plate of cookies and a glass of milk.
-20 minutes in - Donuts and iced coffee - if no one takes it he'll give it to Sandra & Russell (she's giddy) but Colby takes it (really?).
-35 minutes in - Candice whispers to Danielle if she thinks Parvati will hand on - someone's got to beat Rupert - I know.
Jeff offers a huge plate of peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, chips, candy and 2 glasses of milk.  Danielle, Candice and Jerri all step off for that - leaves Parvati and Rupert.
-1 hr, 10 minutes in and Rupert is adjusting his feet on the perch and he slips off - Parvati wins immunity!
TWIST - it is a clue to a hidden immunity idol - and Jeff reads it out to all of them and then sends them home (Nice!)

Yin Yang - Day 31
Sandra says the minute they got to camp everyone took off running looking for the idol.  Russell says they have to all split up.
-Russell & Candice are looking under a red bush (the clue said something about a burning bush) so Sandra sees another red bush across the way and - boom - she finds the idol. (Hide it!)  She's walking around holding it (Don't tell them!) She wants to read the note on it then decides she can't do it out here - (Duh!) Finally she puts it in her pocket, pretends to look some more then saunters off worried it's too bulky.  She says she's so greedy she's gonna keep it for herself (You better!).
-Rupert says he may not have an idol but he's going to pretend like he does - he puts a rock in his pocket - bulky enough to look like the idol - it's not his first game. He's trying to stay for another day.
-When Rupert comes back to camp Russell is eyeing him up and down and notices the bulge in his pocket.  Russell's convinced Rupert has the idol and they have to smoke it out so he's going to split the vote and if he doesn't play it he goes home.

-Sandra says to Rupert she thinks everyone gave up - Russell says Rupert's got it, he sees it in his pocket but no worries, they'll split the votes. (Little aside - they keep blurring Russell's pubic region because his shorts are riding so low in front - if he's flashing pubes - eww - pull up your pants man!)
-Sandra is keeping her mouth shut about having the idol (smart girl) it's good for Sandra Russell thinks Rupert has it.

-Danielle, Parvati & Jerri are talking - they say Russell is sure Rupert has the idol so they'll split the vote 3-3 for Rupert and Colby to flush out the idol.  Jerri says she wants Candice, not Colby - she'll never see it coming (and no one sees Colby as a threat anymore - huh - maybe he's non-threatening like a fox.) Colby is listening to them talk.
-Danielle tells the camera she's not sure - she thinks Candice will be loyal to them but she also thinks she can make Colby do what she wants (cause he's a boy and she has big (bad) boobs? I don't think so Tim.)
-Colby goes to Rupert and tells him they're going to split the vote 3 for Rupert and 3 for either him or Candice.  If they both vote for Candice that's potentially her going with 5 votes. They're giggling like school girls on the possibility of them voting Candice out.

TRIBAL COUNTIL #1
Rupert, after last Tribal Council what was the fall out?
 - Colby and I realized there is only one Hero left - Candice jumped to the Villains' side.
Candice, you're shaking your head - is that not true?
 - Amanda was going to go home whether I voted for her or not - she had a target on her back being a strong strategic player (yeah, keep telling yourself that.) [Amanda rolls her eyes] The numbers were already there. (Whatever.)
Colby - I have no respect for the excuses.
Candice - It wasn't going to get me anywhere going down with the sinking ship.
Colby - So that's what you should have said - game for a million dollars and that's my best play.
Candice just looks annoyed to be called out for her line of BS.
So Russell, as a strategy, Candice put herself ahead of Rupert and Colby - Good move?
 - Yeah, it was her best move - the Villain side was 6 - something has to break eventually.
So, it's Rupert or Colby tonight?
 - The consensus is Rupert goes tonight.
Rupert, after the challenge I read a clue - when you got back to camp, what happened?
 - I went back to camp, took off my sandals and went into the jungle and stayed until I felt comfortable (Okay, am I the only one with the dirty mind or did that sound like he had 'alone' time in the jungle?)
Russell, so do you think Rupert or Colby has the idol or is it still out there?
 - If they don't have it, then they gave up and I don't think Colby or Rupert would give up. (Rupert if fighting a smile, hoping it works for him tonight.)

Time to Vote:
Colby votes Candice - says he can honestly say he's proud of the way he's played the game - are you?
Candice votes Rupert - Her mother told her if she doesn't have anything good to say not to say anything.
Tallying the Votes:
Jeff asks is anyone has a hidden idol and wants to play it... they all look at Rupert, he starts to fiddle with his pocket a little - but nothing more - Okay then...
Reading the Votes:  Rupert - 1, 2, 3  - Candice - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5! CANDICE is voted out!
Colby has a big smile as does Amanda - Rupert plays it cool and Danielle looks pissed off that they figured it out and voted Candice with them.
This vote proves it's a risky move to betray trust to gain trust.
Candice's last thoughts - says she felt like she got thrown under the bus tonight but she understands she made a risky move last night and it didn't quite work out.  Karma's a b*tch sometimes. (You said it so I don't have to.)
And with Candice leaving that means Sharon R. and Wendy E. are out of the pool.

Yin Yang - Night 31
-Russell to the camera - We blew it - we were supposed to split the vote between Rupert and Colby but the girls got their hearts in the game and wanted to vote Candice cause they didn't like her - I should have sat them down and said no - this is what we're going to do.
-Russell to the girls - it was stupid to concentrate on Candice.
Jerri - well if you felt that strongly, you should have said something.
Russell - all they have to do is win immunity and they're top 5 and they'll start taking us out.
Danielle - stop thinking negatively - we're 5, they're 2 - Rupert doesn't have the idol or he would have played it.
-Russell says to the camera that he's not 100% in control of this game - he & Parvati are equally in control and that makes him a little worried - know what? I'm going to take control so fast they won't know what hit them.

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE #2
-They have to dig up a peg to manoeuvre through a table maze - First 5 to finish will move on to the next round - Next round they have to use 4 individually shaped pegs to make hand/foot holds to climb a wall - first 3 to the top of the wall move on to the final round where they must solve a slide puzzle - and the first person done will win Immunity.
-They're off - Rupert finds his peg first and Colby is the last with a peg on the board.
Rupert, Sandra, Russell, Parvati and Danielle move on.
-Climbing the wall - Russell is a monkey, Rupert and Parvati are the 3 to move on.
-Final round - Russell wins Immunity!
-Rupert says he came up short and he knows just the lie of a rock in his pocket is not going to save him tonight.

Yin Yang - Day 31
Coming back to camp it's pouring rain.  Parvati says she wants Rupert to go tonight - he doesn't have an idol or he would have played it.
Parvati talking to Russell & Danielle - We need to be locked in at 5.
Russ - Yeah, I know.
Parvati -One of those guys makes it to the end, we're done. (Uh oh, she's dictating, Russell doesn't like that.)
-Russell says to the camera that Parvati & Danielle are a team when it's supposed to be him and Parvati so all he can think of is breaking up that couple.
-Russell talking to Danielle on the beach - I don't think either one of us can win over Parvati - Time's going to come when she tries to take either you or me out but we can easily blindside her.
(Argh! My eyes - Danielle needs to cover that horrible cleavage.)
-Danielle to the camera - Russell says he wants to get rid of Parvati, which I don't think I'd do that because I'm in a tight alliance with her - But if we were to do that - now is not the time.  She tells him she trusts him 110% - He says he trusts her too. (Uh huh.)
-Then - Russell goes to Parvati and tells her Danielle came to him and said she wanted to vote off Parvati fifth or sixth.
Parvati - why would she want to do that?
Russell - I'm with you Parvati, that's all.
-Russell tells the camera that they're not going to talk to each other, that will mess up their games - now that he's playing both of them he's back in control.
Parvati says she wants to talk to Danielle - she won't tell her what he said. (He freaks out a little)
Russell - what are you thinking?  Why would you talk to her about what I'm trying to keep secret.
Parvati - Don't yell at me. Don't tell me who I can or cannot have a conversation with.
Russell - Okay, you go do that . (Yeah, do it!)
-Parvati says to the camera - Today should have been Rupert - Done.  Russell comes out of nowhere and says they're blindsiding me - I'm not voting Danielle tonight - I don't care, I'm not doing it. (She's still pissed at his high-handedness.)
-Parvati goes and talks to Danielle on the beach and quickly finds out Russell is lying - Parvati thinks that Russell is afraid that if it's the three of them in the final that Parvati & Danielle will take each other and he'll be out (Bingo!)
-Russell to the camera - I'm gonna get Danielle out tonight - once that happens, Parvati will be so scared she'll cling to me like glue (ahh, I wouldn't be so sure.)
-Russell goes and tells Colby - one thing that has to happen tonight is Danielle has to go home.
Colby - Really?  Really.
Russell tells Rupert - New plan, it's Danielle tonight.
Rupert - Yeah!  (That was easy.)
-Meanwhile Danielle is whining to Parvati and Sandra - Why'd this get hooked on me?  Why would he want to keep Rupert & Colby around, doesn't make any sense.
-Parvati says Russell's running around, double-talking is hurting his game. He's getting out-played by me and Danielle at this point and it's driving him a little crazy.  We just have to make sure Jerri doesn't write Danielle's name down.
-Parvati & Danielle got to Jerri and tell her Russell's trying to get Danielle out tonight.
Jerri - Are you crazy? It's Rupert, I'm not changing my vote - Rupert needs to go.
-Russell then goes to Jerri and says they have to vote Danielle tonight.
Jerri - It has to be Rupert.
Russell - then you'll be next, I promise you.
Jerri - Why are you threatening me?
Russell - It's not me, I can't do nothing - I'm trying to save you... (Oh, he's so slippery - don't fall for it.)

TRIBAL COUNCIL #2
Rupert, who's running the show right now?
 - I don't know, it's probably between Parvati and Russell?
Danielle, is that true? Parvati & Russell calling the shots for the Villains?
 - Danielle tries to tell him they're all making decisions together. Jeff doesn't buy it.
So, Jerri, it must be pretty peaceful around camp then with Rupert & Colby saying it's you or me dude.
 - Hell no, it's never been quiet since day one and it's certainly not quiet right now.
So, Danielle, why this illusion that its one big happy family?
 - Just a miscommunication - there were things said and no, not everyone agreed - at all.  It was mad chaos.
Parvati - Crazy could not describe what happened today.  Danielle and I were pitted against each other.
Parvati, what happened?
 - Well Russell came to me and said Danielle was trying to blindside me - she said it wasn't true and it went crazy - Russell's trying to test loyalty, that's what I got.
So Russell, you got caught.
 - No, Danielle came to me and said when do you want to get off Parvati?
Danielle - Liar, lie, lie, lie
Russell - My loyalty lies with Parvati
-Danielle calls him out on his lies then bursts into tears - no one is very sympathetic - then she goes on to say she's closer to Parvati than he knows (Parvati rolls her eyes in disbelief)-  and that's it, that's what Russell wanted to know... He catches Jerri's eye and mouths at her "Danielle" - Danielle meanwhile, is oblivious that she's just dug her own grave and continues about how close their friendship is (Oh my God - someone make her stop talking.)
Alright then, it's time to vote:
Parvati votes Rupert - 2nd times the charm, hopefully tonight you'll be going home.
Russell - Danielle - you're closer than I think?  I'll have to cut that tie.
Jerri - They don't show us her vote but she says, "I have no idea what just happened but with this vote I'm sealing my fate."
Tallying the Votes:
Rupert: 1, 2, 3 - Danielle: 1, 2, 3, 4... DANIELLE is voted out!
Parvati whispers to him that was messed up - He just gives her a look.
And with Danielle leaving that means Ritch G. and Andria S. are also out of the pool.

Danielle's final words - Russell's insane but I might have put my foot in my mouth at Tribal Council calling him out and I think he changed his vote at the last minute.  I think I played a good game this time.  Maybe too aggressive but I did my best, that's all you can ask.

Next week: Russell's on the outs with the Villains so he tries to turn the Heroes to the dark side. He uses the 'If you're not with me you're against me' line on Sandra and she says "I'm against you." Russell is shaking hands with Rupert & Colby - Final 3! (Oh yeah, it's gonna be good!)

Have a great weekend everyone!
Go Canucks Go!

Amazing Race - May 2nd Episode Recap

They Don't Even Understand Their Own Language (Shanghai)

Shanghai, the most cosmopolitan city in China, and the half a billion dollar Science and Technology Museum was the Pit Stop on the last leg of the race.
-The Cowboys, Jet & Cord, are the first to depart at 8:02am - they get the clue to make their way to the Garden Bridge which, Phil clues us in, all the locals only know by the Chinese name (Uh oh), to find their next clue.
-Cord tells us Jet is the best partner to have, he trusts him with his life.  In 2004 Cord took a hoof to the side of the head which crushed his skull, they didn't know if he was going to make it, and Jet stayed by his hospital bed the whole time (I'm a sucker for brotherly love - sniff - it explains a lot though, Cord being a little slow and Jet being kinda protective.)  Jet says Cord is the toughest guy he knows; we definitely have a shot at winning.
-They ask a couple people where the Garden bridge is - get pointed to the park bridge - Wow, that was easy (hmm, yes, way too easy.)

-Brent & Caite are the next out at 8:36am - Brent thinks its a really simple clue... but they'll see.
-Caite says it's been three years since the Teen USA Pageant where she became an inadvertent YouTube sensation - she hopes making the top three will show people she can accomplish anything she sets her mind to (apparently she still gets comments almost everyday.)
-No one knows the Garden bridge - they find a young girl who searches it on her phone and finds the Chinese name for the bridge - she tries to get them to say it, then decides to write it down for them... good idea.  They are able to take off in a taxi who knows where to go.
-Jet & Cord realize they're at the wrong bridge and get a taxi - he says sure he can take them - but once they're under way the driver admits he doesn't know where he's going... they ask him to call and take it in stride - Oh, THAT Garden Bridge. (I hope they're not just being taken for a ride.)

-Dan & Jordan are the next out at 8:53am - Dan says he came on the race for his brother but winning the race has become important to him too.  They have no idea how they're supposed to do this when no one speaks English - they're having problems finding the Garden bridge too.

-Brent says he was worried to come to China but it's incredible - the only thing that's killer is the language barrier.  Caite's quiet, I don't think she's as impressed.  They are the first to the clue box - get the clue to make their way to the Longhua Temple where they'll find their next clue.  They are not allowed to travel by taxi.  Their first order of business is to find someone who speaks English.

-Jet & Cord get to the cluebox - keep the cab driver waiting for them - Jet reads the clue and they head back to pay their driver.
-Brent & Caite are reading a MAP!  Realize it's a ways to the temple and they'll have to take the bus.  Caite says obviously she does know how to read a map since she's pretty darn good at finding where they have to go - In CHINA. "So, people, you can all go screw yourselves."   Brent, "Hell Yeah."
-Cowboys ask their driver where the temple is - can they take a boat or a train - Yes, a train, tells them the metro station is about 1km away.  They take off on foot. (Good boys.)

-Dan & Jordan ask a guy stretching if this is the Garden Bridge?
Guy - Bridge?
Jordan - Bridge.
Dan - B R I D G E (yeah, like spelling it's going to help.)
They let the guy read the clue (so obviously he speaks English) and he asks, "Where is the Garden Bridge?"
Yeah, that's what they said.  Jordan just thanks him and they take off frustrated.
- Jordan says this language barrier is not for them.  Dan says he hates China, he will not be back.
- Two hours in, they think they should go back and wait for the Detectives - their strategy is never to be alone or last so they figure they can use Michael & Louie to help them, then the Speed Bump will let them pull ahead.

-Michael & Louie are heading out at 11:00am - They were spared elimination on the last leg - hopefully that will bit somebody in the butt.  Both hope to show their children that you never give up and the harder you work the more you can achieve.
-Dan & Jordan come running up to the Detective which relieves them - they've caught up to a team that was two hours ahead of them (well, not quite - the brothers were too ignorant American to find out where to go) but the Detectives welcome them and they all head up to higher ground for Michael to use his binocular to scout out the area and use his Detective eye to find the bridge.

-Brent & Caite get to the temple - ROADBLOCK (and I see the Speed Bump) - the Roadblock clue says 'Who thinks they can sum up Buddha?'  They must enter the Arhat Hall and count all the golden statues in the room - there are 523!  (That is a lot of little fat men.)  If they come up with the right number they'll receive their next clue- If their guess is wrong, they'll have to wait 10 minutes before making another guess (oof.)
-Caite is counting for them - Oh my Gosh - Brent is glad she's doing this task to prove she's got it upstairs (let's see how she does first.) Her first guess - 520 - she has to wait 10 minutes.
-Cowboys are still looking for the metro station but notice all the buses going by - Cord wonders if they shouldn't have caught a bus.

-Michael sees a couple coats hanging from a sign - that must be the clue (What?  No coloured race marker - Hello.)  They all head down to the strange hanging coats but it's just weirdness, nothing there.  Michael figures the other teams must be having as much trouble as they are.

-Caite's next guess is still off - 522 - Not it?  Huh. (She's surprisingly chill about it) 10 more minutes. Brent really wants to get out of there, he's not so patient.

-Detectives ask a group of guys to borrow a cell phone - they call the translation service and have the translator tell a cab driver where they need to go.
-Dan & Jordan tell their cab driver to follow Michael & Louie's - Follow them - slower - F o l l o w... The green cab - g r e e n ... (oh my gravy, these two just don't get it.)  Dan starts freaking out literally - their driver stops at a red light and they lose the Detectives - Dan starts spazzing in the back of the cab, he wants Jordan to let him out so he can hit someone... (Calm Down.)
-Michael notices they've lost the brothers, they don't seem too worried about it - Louie's just glad they're not in front of them (They did nothing to help; I'd try to lose them too.)

-Caite makes another wrong guess - 524 now - nope - 10 more minutes.
-Cowboys get the metro to the temple - they see Brent & Caite's bags but run right past Brent without seeing him, he's crouched down and continues to hide from them to try and give Caite some more time.
-Cowboys find the clue - decide Jet is going to do the counting.  He's not worried about what Brent & Caite are doing - no point rushing, getting it wrong and having to wait the 10 minutes - he's going to stay cool-headed and get it right.  (We all know she's not cool-headed under pressure - "and some that is the Iraq" - Huh, I'm starting to feel bad about making fun of her for that... but not too bad.)

-Detectives get to the bridge, Dan & Jordan catch up and try to get the jump on them onto the bridge, but they walk right past the clue box (I'm not liking the Brothers this leg, they're sketchy.) All four of them head off on foot.

-Jet notices there are two standing gold statues that don't look like Buddhas by the door - he re-reads the clue and it just says count all the GOLD statues, not all the Buddha statues so he adds the two by the door and gets the correct number on the first try (of course) - 523.
-Caite comes out and gets the right number finally - they both get the next clue, tells them to Hop a Ride.  They must choose a sidecar motorcycle, one person on the back and one in the sidecar with a driver provided - to take them to some gardens.  Brent said the racing on the motorcycles was pretty exciting - (sure, exciting - I think I'd have to change my shorts after that.)

-Brothers and Detectives go in a business and ask the best way to the temple - he tells them to take the bus.  Detectives want to ditch the brothers - know they still have a Speed Bump coming up.  They all get on the bus.

- Motorcycle ride comes to an end at an open mall-type area and Caite says there are thousands of people everywhere (you're in CHINA) - The clue says the box is across from some garden - Brent says he sees a garden area - Caite says we don't want the actual garden - He snaps he's just trying to get a 'barrier' (yeah, he meant 'bearing', bless his heart, he tries.)  Caite is telling people to go away and leave her alone - she's not impressed with the crowd and pushy people hocking their wares.
-Cowboys find the clue box first - DETOUR - Pork Chops or Pork Dumplings.
In Pork Chops - they make their way to the stamp store (elaborately carved stamp bocks are called chops) they must search through the vast inventory for a chop with the picture of a pig and their names carved in it.  Both chops in hand, they'll receive their next clue.
In Port Dumplings - they must make their way to a restaurant, pick up 10 orders of dumplings then make their way through the crowded alleyways of the market to deliver them - when they complete the deliveries, they'll get their next clue.
-Cowboys (wisely in my opinion) go for Pork Chops.  Cord spots the Art Stone store right away and they head in and start searching.
-Brent & Caite find the clue box and choose Pork Chops as well - they head in to the store where the Cowboys greet them and say the pigs are elusive.  Brent can't concentrate; he's got to go to the bathroom so bad.  She tells him to go then but he reminds her she can't look while he's gone so she'll have to go with him - she tells him too bad then, she's not going anywhere, he'll have to hold it (what a b*tch.)

-Detectives and Brothers get to the temple and the Detectives get their Speed Bump - they must successfully toss coins into a giant incense burner (Hopefully not too tough, and it will give them luck - bonus.)
-Dan & Jordan read the Roadblock clue and Jordan wants Dan to do it - it's a patience thing (yeah, and Dan has shown so much patience today with the cab driver.) But Dan is doing the counting.
-Detectives are coin tossing - it's the top hole so it is challenging to get a coin in the burner - takes a few tries but they both get one in and head over to the Roadblock.  Louie will be doing the counting - Michael says Louie is a math wizard; he'll be counting for them.

-Cowboys were starting to feel sorry for Brent - they've never seen anyone have to go that bad.  Caite's still refusing to stop & go with him but he won't let up - finally she agrees - grudgingly.  He tells her to shut up.  As soon as they leave, Jet finds Brent's chop - He'll have to find that on his own.

-Dan took his time, counted at his own pace and got the correct count.  Every team has got to have a closer and he says he's this teams closer.  They take off on the motorcycle - Dan got the sidecar and he revels in telling the camera Jordan rode b*tch.  Jordan said it was awesome, helmet, crazy goggles, holding on to the Chinese man driving - okay, I liked that part.
-Louie makes his guess - 521 - he missed the 2 at the door - they have to wait 10 minutes - It's killing them - every minute counts at this point.  Louie re-reads the clue and realizes he didn't count the Samurai warriors at the door - "my bad - falling the way of the sword."  He gets it right on the next try and they head for the motorcycles.

-Back at the Chop shop, Brent & Caite are back - the Cowboys are still searching, Jet finds his chop but keeps it quiet, slips it in his pocket - doesn't want to give Brent & Caite more motivation.  He does whisper to Cord though that he has it and they're still looking for his.
-Caite found Cords but she didn't tell him, hoping he wouldn't find it soon.  Brent finds his and announces it right away.  She finds her chop not long after and they get the clue just as Jet finds Cord's chop - Cowboys head out right behind them.

-Next clue is to make their way to the Riverside Promenade - the Pit Stop for this leg of the race.
-Jet & Cord head out to the street and get a cab right away - Jet tells the driver to take off  "Muy rapido. I don't know anything in Chinese." (Ha ha.)
-Brent & Caite can't find a cab - it's rush hour and traffic's insane.

-Dan & Jordan get to the market - looking for the clue box.
-Detectives are hoping it's a long arduous Detour that everyone is struggling with.

-Cowboys get to the Riverside Promenade - Brent & Caite are there right behind them - they are all searching for Phil and the Mat.... And the tallest man in the world is standing there with Phil - he's crazy tall.

-Back at the market - Brothers choose Pork Chops - Jordan is instantly questioning if they're looking for a needle in a haystack here.  Dan tells him they're doing this one.  Dan found Louie's but can't find their own.
-Detectives show up and Dan & Jordan aren't happy to see them.  The Brothers had 20 minutes on them, fact they were still there was a relief to Michael & Louie - Find ours yet?  No.
-Jordan still complaining this is an impossible task, Dan tells him to shut up and just do it.

-Dan finds his - everyone still looking - Louie literally leaving no stone unturned - Michael's trying to look from underneath with his CSI flashlight - Jordan finds his and the Brothers head out.

-Jordan grabs a girl in the market who speaks English to tell a cab driver where to take them (poor thing, she looks scared - crazy American dragging her away) She tells the cab driver where to go  - Dan flashes him some cash and the driver understands that - they take off.
-Michael finds Louie - Louie finds Michael and they are running for their lives... Michael says you never know they could get a bad cab ride and we could pass them.
-Dan is freaking out in his cab again, think the driver is not going to the right place - Dan says he has no motivation to help us out - They get to the promenade and are looking for Phil.
-Detectives get there too and are looking for the mat...

Here's How They Finished:
1) Brent & Caite - Team #1!  She shrieks and starts jumping up and down (Not very Beauty Queen of her) They won a trip for two to Spain and a shot at the Million dollars.  Caite is ecstatic to be the only woman left and she and Brent are proving they can do anything they put their mind to - right now, that's winning a million dollars.
2) Jet & Cord - They will be in the finale. Jet - We could get a buckle.  Cord - I hope so.  If not I'm getting one made.  Jet - Amazing Race Champions.  (They're so cute.)
3) Dan & Jordan - My bother made my biggest dream come true - he's always been there for me.  We are turning it on 150%, we're going to win the Million Dollars.
4) Louie & Michael - **ELIMINATED**  It's been a great ride - Michael says there's not one bad thing he can say about the race except not making it to the end.  This is something we'll always share - can't think of anyone else they'd want to run the race with.  (I'll miss the Detectives - they were a good team - Bye Boys.)
So, that means Kevin & Elaine R., Bernice W., Robert L. and Sharleen H. are out of the pool. (So close.)

Preview of next week:  We are down to a couple of small town cowboys, a beauty queen with something to prove and brothers trying to fulfill a dream.  They must scale new heights (looks like rope climbing a building) and explore new galaxies (computer motion capture suits and directing from another room) Cord is talking smack to Jordan, going to have one of these Star Wars guys take him out... It's on like Donkey Kong!

And who is still in the running:
Brent & Caite: Nenad M., Sue S. & Hannelore M., Drew C. and Virginia D.
Jet & Cord: Shane B., Miranne D., Kaite L., and Brian L.
Dan & Jordan: Sharon R., Kim B., Cheryl J. and Andria S.

Have a great week everyone,

Coleen

And any Survivor fans - and I saw a commercial that said there will be two Tribal Councils and two people leaving on the next episode.  Awesome!
