Holding on for Dear Life
Last week Tyler went through Dan's bag and found out his advantage was an extra vote. Karma kind of bit him when Mike pulled out his hidden immunity idol at tribal and said he would use it for Shirin if they didn't vote for Tyler... only Tyler and Will fell for it, the rest called Mike's bluff and Shirin joined the jury.
Merica - Night 29
-They get back to camp and they are speculating how everyone voted, supposing that Dan voted for Tyler and Tyler voted for Dan... Dan very adamantly stated that he voted for Shirin and Sierra backed him up saying she recognized his writing and then Will steps in (since he doesn't want it known he voted for Dan) and just says, "Don't do this, just don't do this." But Mike is being a sh*t disturber and saying one of them is going home next time so they better start scrambling.
-Mike is loving that he's caused so much turmoil within the six alliance, he can't wait to see the fallout.
-The six split off and have heated discussion - Tyler is telling Dan he had to write someone else's name down because he couldn't vote for himself and if he voted Shirin and Mike gave her the idol, it would have been him going... Dan finally saw his point.
-Later Will told Dan basically the same thing, he wanted to split their vote... and he's acting very sincere like it was important Dan know that from him directly (uh huh.)
-Dan takes it in and says he's okay with it, but he tells the camera the fact that he got two votes gives him pause. Will & Tyler flinched. Mike is still enemy number one but he has a hidden idol so he's guaranteed one more go around. They show Dan right in Will's face urgently conveying that they are not going anywhere, he's okay with the vote against him - there was even a bro kiss involved (Dan in your face so intense is a little scary.)
-Tyler meanwhile is not so happy that he was called out like that - he wrote Dan's name down and he plans on doing it again - Dan should realize he's on the bottom of their alliance but... he wouldn't call Dan extremely gullible, he's just extremely loyal and in this game they're one and the same.
Merica - Day 30
-Today is Rodney's birthday! They wish him happy birthday in a wheedling kind of voice which was kind of annoying - but Rodney loves the attention - he also tells the camera he hopes he gets a Reward that gets him off that beach today.
-Treemail tells them they will get the opportunity to nourish their soul and feed their belly if they can get through the stumps. Will tells Rodney if he has to give up the Reward to him, he'll do it. Rodney also thinks Mama C is going to make sure he goes on the Reward - he feels he has 0.00% chance of not going on the Reward today, that's how much faith he has in these people. (Famous last words?)
REWARD CHALLENGE
They will be divided into two teams of three - they will start by unspooling ribbons from a pole to release a key, once they have the key they'll build a ladder to climb up and use the key to release a bag of balls, they'll then walk across a net sling to the finish where they will attempt to land the balls in a series of targets by rolling them down a ramp then jumping on the end to launch the balls towards the targets... oof, that may be difficult to aim. First team to get one ball in each target wins Reward of: delivering much needed supplies to local orphans - school supplies, bedding, clothing, balls, bikes and they'll get an afternoon of bbq.
-Only six people will be participating in the challenge - they do a schoolyard pick and Will was the person not chosen (burn!)
Teams are:
Dan, Tyler and Rodney vs Carolyn, Mike & Sierra. (Rodney is pissed he's not on a team with either of the people he thought would take him on the Reward.)
Off they go - Mike, Sierra & Carolyn get out to a lead working together better on the unspooling of the ribbons... actually Mike and the ladies continue their lead through the ladder and net sling... once all the guys are through the net sling they realize that Rodney left the balls on the other side - and Jeff doesn't let him just go get them, he's got to go back and then come through the net sling again (way to go you goomba.)
-Mike starts launching balls at the targets which gives him a bit of leg up on the learning curve - he gets one target before the guys start but Dan proves a quick study and gets the guys up - they go back and forth but the guys are up 4 to 3 when Sierra & Carolyn want Mike to switch out with them but he won't, says he has it... Dan almost finishes it but the ball went over the top of the last target and MIKE, SIERRA and CAROLYN win the Reward! (Oh no, princess Rodney is going to have a meltdown.)
-Jeff gets it going, bringing up the fact that Rodney continues to be shut out of the Rewards and Rodney says it's his birthday today too Jeff. He says he's not going to plead his case but he does anyway, saying it's day 30 and he hasn't left the beach...
-Mike tells him he loves him but he's got to get food in him too. Then Carolyn says it is a once in a lifetime opportunity for her as well and she's not giving it up. Which really gets Rodney because things were said about them giving up the Reward to him. (Welcome to Survivor, these people are not your Mother, they don't owe you anything, bro.)
-Rodney tells the camera, "these people are fugazy. It's your own damn birthday and they don't take you on reward." They just turned him into the psychotic person he is.
REWARD
The ambassadors of Survivor Good Will come driving into the orphanage and start giving out the supplies and playing with the kids - it was food for their souls stepping out of the game and just playing with the kids and then they got huge heaping plates of food.
-They all agreed this was the best reward, Carolyn even said it was worth the beating she's going to take when they get back.
-Carolyn tells the camera when you think about it, this is not a horrible Birthday, he's on freaking Survivor for goodness sakes.
-She further goes on to say spending this time with Mike makes her see him in a different light - he's still got a lot of power in the game, he wins challenges and has a hidden idol... maybe she should look at aligning with him (I don't see that happening.)
Merica - Day 30
Rodney's doing the dishes and working himself into a state - stuck on this beach which doesn't even grow any coconuts or fruit - stuck here with scumbags who neglected him on his birthday when they claim to be a family. Carolyn & Sierra are not going to the end now, the only people going to the end on his watch is him.
-Dan, Tyler and Will are just staying away from him, hoping he'll cool
off - Dan says he's not going to cool off, it's Rodney. And when Rodney does come back to camp and they say they are sorry, he goes off - he expected it from Mike & Sierra but Mama C, she's been on four rewards and it's his freakin' birthday (Really? It's Rodney's Birthday? Why didn't anybody tell us? (yeah, that was sarcasm) Could this guy be any more self centered?)
-Dan tells the camera he understands Rodney being upset but even by Dan's standards he went a little over the top on his tirade.
-Rodney then declares his latest brilliant plan, he's going to play up that he's checked out, he wants them to vote him out so Mike won't play his idol and they can blindside Mike.
-Dan tells the camera, "I don't think for a second it will work." But he hopes that Rodney's display puts him on the chopping block and takes the heat off Dan.
-Tyler says they sat around and watched Rodney stomp around, kick the dirt, spit, curse - he's lost it, he's going crazy and it's scary because he's in Tyler's alliance and he doesn't think this plan will work.
-Tyler asks Rodney, "What if Mike plays the idol and votes me, then I'm going home." Rodney's answer, "I really don't think he's going to play the idol." (Why? Because you don't want him to?) Rodney believes he's going to act so well convincing them he wants to go home that Mike would be crazy to play his idol. Tyler says this is Survivor, you have to anticipate crazy (as Rodney's been displaying all day.) Tyler knows he can't leave his fate in Mike's hands.
Merica - Night 30
Everybody is back and they're all in the shelter in the pouring rain and we get more of Rodney's poopy diaper about how none of them stepped up for him on his birthday. He attacks Mama C that she's supposed to be like his Motha out there, would you abandon your son on his birthday and go pawty? You should write my name down, I'm done with you fake *ss people, I have to go home to my real family.
-Mike interjects, Why should they give up their reward when you lost the challenge? Cause it's his birthday - Sierra blows up at that one, "It's just another day in the month... if I have to hear..." Rodney, "You're gonna hear it, until you write my name down and get me out of here." (Oh I so hope this blows up in his face! Happy Birthday to US!)
-Mike sees right through the plan, try to make me feel safe so I don't
play my idol. I'm not an idiot, "Just cause I talk slow, don't mean I think slow."
-Will says Mike didn't buy Rodney's act for a minute - he has his immunity idol and we're back to square one.
-Tyler and Carolyn go off to talk, he asks if she thinks Mike's going to vote for Tyler next time, she says him or Dan - Tyler's got to win immunity. But then Tyler asks her about her hidden idol, if she would think of using it for him (sure, just like she gave up the reward for Rodney) she said she'd use it when they needed it but i wouldn't trust her as far as I could throw her.
-Carolyn feels like she's the one in charge right now, Tyler trusts her and Mike has no one else...
DAY 32 - IMMUNITY CHALLENGE
-They are out on the water for this one - they will be balanced on a very small perch on the side of a dock, leaning back holding on to a rope, every ten minutes they will move down the rope so they are leaning farther back... when they can't do it anymore and fall in the water they are out of the challenge (obviously) last person standing wins immunity. (This is always a lighter persons challenge, we'll see if Mama C can get another W or if Mike has the arm strength.)
-Off they go - Tyler seems to be the first person struggling but Rodney's got to be the center of attention, he starts playing up how bad he's feeling to Jeff, he complains some more about the having the worst birthday ever and how he's emotionally drained... his constant spoiled brat complaining seems to be wearing on everyone, even Carolyn seems annoyed. Jeff continues to bug other people and as he's talking to Dan - Will is the first person out of the challenge - followed very closely by Dan. Sierra is the next out and Rodney is right behind her.
-We're down to Tyler, Carolyn and Mike... and they have to move down to the next knot - but Mike can't make the transition which makes Dan happy, Tyler can't hold on and it's Carolyn winning her second immunity.
-Dan says good thing is Mike has to play his hidden idol tonight, bad news, he got two votes last tribal and there has been a lot of talk about his advantage, which makes him an easy target.
Merica - Day 32
-They get back to camp and everyone congratulates Mama C - mama see, mama do. She says she has so many options she's got to carefully weigh the best one for her.
-Dan feels one of three people are going home tonight, Mike, Tyler or Dan. Even though they say Tyler's a threat, Dan's name keeps getting written down.
-Dan, Sierra, Carolyn and Rodney are around the fire and Sierra asks what they're thinking - Carolyn says guys vote Mike, girls vote Tyler - that way Mike gets four votes, he plays his hidden idol and Tyler gets three votes, the girls and Mike.
-Carolyn tells the camera as far as Dan knows they are gunning for Tyler but it's not a bad idea to vote for Dan because then they'd get rid of the advantage.
-Dan tells Carolyn his worry is that Tyler and Will voted for him last time and she and Rodney tell him he has nothing to worry about from Will.
-Meanwhile Tyler and Will are talking at the water hole and they are thinking Dan because of the advantage he could be a huge threat going forward (Tyler is just trying to cover his butt, Will doesn't care as long as it's not him.)
-Mike is talking to Mama C - he tells her he thinks it will be a 4-3 vote, four for him and he's voting for Tyler. He's hoping she'll be 100% with him right now, because his options of who to side with are very limited.
-She knows this could be her only opportunity to side with Mike, but she's not sure if it's the right move to make right now. (Tell him to vote for Dan then.)
-Tyler comes and tells Carolyn that he talked to Will and they're on board to vote for Dan - she tells Tyler that she agrees they should get rid of Dan and the advantage.
-Then she tells the camera she could go either way tonight, Tyler is the only other person that knows she has a hidden immunity idol so he could blow up her game at any time... (What's she going to do!?)
TRIBAL COUNCIL
Mike confirms he does have his hidden idol with him tonight so one of the six will be going home tonight, that's guaranteed. Mike says he thinks Tyler should be worried, he thinks Dan should be worried - he's e
njoying this, to be perfectly honest. He's got fireworks, popcorn and pepsi, he's going to sit back and watch... Rodney pipes in if he has popcorn could he share, he's 150lbs and "stahving ova hehre."
-Dan acknowledges that he was surprised to get two votes last tribal and he found out right away who both of those votes were. As much as nobody wants to say who's on the bottom of the six, that painted a pretty clear picture to him. Dan's greatly concerned it could be him.
-Tyler said he didn't exactly scramble after the challenge but he definitely took a minute or two to touch base with everyone he's been aligned with in one way or another (that made Dan's head snap around because Tyler did not talk to him, obviously.)
-Mike said everyone has speculated about Dan's advantage - he doesn't know what it is but he hopes it was worth $480 (if he uses it right it could be worth a million.)
-Carolyn says the advantage is somewhat of a threat because they don't know what it is - could be another immunity idol, could be the special powers idol Tony had (could be an extra vote...)
-Dan says everyone has approached him to make a deal to use the advantage with him (everyone kind of looks around because I don't think anyone really did that) but Dan says it's irrelevant if they know what his advantage is or not, just the fact that he has one makes him a bigger target.
-Jeff tells Sierra this is the perfect tribal to make a big move at seven - and she agrees saying she thinks a big move will be made tonight and everyone will be shocked but it's a move everyone has been waiting for and she's keeping every option open (huh?)
-Tyler says they are at the point where you have to look at the 5, 4, 3 positions and better make sure that every vote you make has been thought out. He hesitantly says..."yes"... he would be surprised if it were him going home tonight.
And with that, it's time to vote:
Dan votes for Mike - You have no idea how much this breaks my heart (yeah, whatever)
Mike votes Tyler - I've been trying to get you out of this game for a long time now.

Tyler's final thoughts - he left it all on the field so to speak, his tactics to go after Dan were right but no one followed suit. He played to his full potential but it's difficult to get ahead in this game if you're not winning challenges. Unfortunately he came up a little short today.
-And they showed Sierra, Carolyn and Mike voted for Tyler.

-Tyler comes and tells Carolyn that he talked to Will and they're on board to vote for Dan - she tells Tyler that she agrees they should get rid of Dan and the advantage.
-Then she tells the camera she could go either way tonight, Tyler is the only other person that knows she has a hidden immunity idol so he could blow up her game at any time... (What's she going to do!?)
TRIBAL COUNCIL
Mike confirms he does have his hidden idol with him tonight so one of the six will be going home tonight, that's guaranteed. Mike says he thinks Tyler should be worried, he thinks Dan should be worried - he's e
njoying this, to be perfectly honest. He's got fireworks, popcorn and pepsi, he's going to sit back and watch... Rodney pipes in if he has popcorn could he share, he's 150lbs and "stahving ova hehre."
-Dan acknowledges that he was surprised to get two votes last tribal and he found out right away who both of those votes were. As much as nobody wants to say who's on the bottom of the six, that painted a pretty clear picture to him. Dan's greatly concerned it could be him.
-Tyler said he didn't exactly scramble after the challenge but he definitely took a minute or two to touch base with everyone he's been aligned with in one way or another (that made Dan's head snap around because Tyler did not talk to him, obviously.)
-Mike said everyone has speculated about Dan's advantage - he doesn't know what it is but he hopes it was worth $480 (if he uses it right it could be worth a million.)
-Carolyn says the advantage is somewhat of a threat because they don't know what it is - could be another immunity idol, could be the special powers idol Tony had (could be an extra vote...)
-Dan says everyone has approached him to make a deal to use the advantage with him (everyone kind of looks around because I don't think anyone really did that) but Dan says it's irrelevant if they know what his advantage is or not, just the fact that he has one makes him a bigger target.
-Jeff tells Sierra this is the perfect tribal to make a big move at seven - and she agrees saying she thinks a big move will be made tonight and everyone will be shocked but it's a move everyone has been waiting for and she's keeping every option open (huh?)
-Tyler says they are at the point where you have to look at the 5, 4, 3 positions and better make sure that every vote you make has been thought out. He hesitantly says..."yes"... he would be surprised if it were him going home tonight.
And with that, it's time to vote:
Dan votes for Mike - You have no idea how much this breaks my heart (yeah, whatever)
Mike votes Tyler - I've been trying to get you out of this game for a long time now.

Tyler - that's two, that's enough and Tyler is joining the jury. (Wow, Carolyn really is a ball buster, no compunction about burning bridges.) And with Tyler leaving that takes: Cindi & Robert, Alexis G. and Lynne B. out of the pool.

(Oooh - no Hantz' PLEASE! Oh good, I checked and the potential pool does not include the devil or his kin.)
Next time - The majority alliance crumbles and Mike sees an opportunity - he's telling Dan they're all gunning for him and then tells the girls that Dan is voting for one of them... oh yeah, Mike needs to slow his roll, this could blow up in his face.
Tyler's final thoughts - he left it all on the field so to speak, his tactics to go after Dan were right but no one followed suit. He played to his full potential but it's difficult to get ahead in this game if you're not winning challenges. Unfortunately he came up a little short today.
-And they showed Sierra, Carolyn and Mike voted for Tyler.
