Survivor Brawn vs Brains vs Beauty - April 2/14 Episode Recap

Head of the Snake

Last week we saw two people leave the game when dreadlocked Lindsey quit to avoid further confrontation with Trisha and doe-eyed Alexis was blindsided by her tribe and tearfully walked off into the night.

Aparri - Night 16
They came back from Tribal Council and the girls felt bad that Alexis was crying but Spencer felt awesome - Top Six!  He thinks this is the best position they could be in, if they merge now they have the numbers, six against five.
-They all put hands in that they are top six and briefly talk about who their first picks to go would be on the other tribe (Trish or Jefra... really? How bout the guys?)
-Kass, always the negative Nelly, hopes they can pull it off but she knows the best laid plans often end up splayed out on a murder scene floor (uh... weird analogy.)
Aparri - Day 17
-Kass and Sarah are walking and talking and Kass, always the bluntly honest, says the only people she's not sure of are her (being Sarah) and Jeremiah.
-Sarah takes immediate offence, she doesn't like being called a liar and she feels that Kass basically just called her a liar.  Sarah tells Kass she's offended - she's done nothing for her to doubt her sincerity and loyalty.
-They do the handshake is my bond thing but Sarah is not impressed and Kass tells us she still doesn't trust Sarah.  "So she voted with us one vote to save her own ass, that doesn't show loyalty it shows desperation and a wise move. Show me blood on your hands from a former tribe mate and then we'll talk."

Solana - Day 17
-Everything is happiness and joy-joy at the Solana camp and Tony, while saying he's having the time of his life (now that he feels like he's the alpha dog) also finds it a bit boring - he likes the scrambling and trickery, that's fun for him...
-Tony & Woo go and get tree mail that tells them to pack up all their essential items and head over to Aparri where they'll spend the next 22 days of this game.  They half-heartedly cheer, and admit they knew it was too good to last.

-Next scenes we see LJ - who knows going into the merge down in numbers could mean they're in trouble- out in the woods collecting his hidden immunity idol... and Tony off in the woods somewhere else also digging up his hidden immunity idol but saying he considers it the sixth member of their tribe - if any one of his Solana five need it, he'll help them out - so he thinks they're in good shape. (Yeah, you keep telling yourself that.)

Aparri - Day 17
-They also read tree mail that tells them to tidy up a bit as they are expecting visitors, for the next 22 days.
-Spencer proclaims they are the winning tribe (oh boy, don't get ahead of yourself.)  He says they are not going to let them forget who has the numbers (oh that will make for a pleasant welcome.)

-When they see the boat coming in with the Solana tribe, Sarah's a little trepidatious at seeing her old tribe mates but once the food starts coming off the boat, it's open arms and pass the wine!

-Jefra tries to talk to B. McGee when she notices that her girl Alexis is gone but B. just sloughs her off.  Jefra is upset, she thought Alexis would be her in, now what are they going to do?

-They all gather to read the note that came with the feast and box of buffs, it tells them they have merged and that hidden idols are still in play, including another idol with different powers that is hidden somewhere near their camp. (What?? Different powers, oooh... I can't wait.)
-Tony wants those special powers!  He's going to spend 2-3 days looking for it...

They pass out the buffs and Tony is trying to be the boss, discussing a new name... someone floats Solarri (combining the two names) and Spencer suggests they discuss it over food! (Always a good idea :))
-EATING! Then Solana brings up that they voted Alexis out, Jefra casually asks for the scoop and then Jeremiah says, "She [intelligible accent (I rewound it twice)] so I voted her out."

-Tony is realizing they could be in trouble, so his only hope now is Sarah who did swear on her badge to be with him but if she doesn't flip, he could be done, and he doesn't want to be done. (He's the scariest one there to me.  Always scheming and willing to screw over anyone to keep himself on top.  You absolutely cannot trust a guy like that.)

Solarrion - Day 18
Trish is leading a yoga/pilates class for the ladies and Tony is talking to his guys, LJ and Woo, asking who they think the head of the snake is.  LJ, again proving he's no dummy, says he thinks the Brains are the core, and Tony knows he's got to try and sway Sarah back to his side.

-Tony goes and talks to Sarah, asking her where she stands.  She tells him she's floating and tries to tell him what's been happening on this tribe but he cuts her off to give her his pitch (a little too eager dude, back off a little) he tells her it's a no-brainer then, it's Sarah (good move putting her as #1 though) Tony, Woo & Trisha then they have LJ and Jefra and that's six, they can pick the rest off one by one by one.
-He just keeps running his mouth and pushing - then asks her to swear on her badge right now.  She's like, "[whoa, dude]Swear to what?" "That you'll vote Spencer or Kass."  She tells him she can't do that right now, she wants to let it play out some more. (Always say yes! Then do whatever you want... doesn't anyone watch this show?)
-He backs off, says when she's ready to swear on her badge, he'll know they're cool. (Hopefully she won't let him bully her, but she does seem to be built of stronger stuff.)
-Sarah says she's in the best position, as there are five on each side and her - she will decide the fate of this game and either way she is sitting pretty (I don't know, I have a bad feeling about this - she needs to cut off the head of their snake and take out Tony.)

Next, Sarah is talking to Jeremiah and Kass and says LJ doesn't have an idol so he should go first.  But the other two think he does have the Beauty idol (which he does) so Jeremiah wants to take Jefra out.  But Sarah says they have to take a strong guy out (exactly) so it should be Woo and Kass says Woo or Trish and again Sarah is saying no, Trish is no threat.  And Sarah's frustrated, she doesn't understand why they think they can pick a fight with her - the last thing they should want to do is piss her off (oh, no, don't let it go to your head lady, or guess who's next.)
-They talk about it a bit more, Sarah agrees LJ is off the table for now and if Woo wins immunity, then it will have to be Tony. But Kass doesn't trust her at all, absolutely refusing to vote for Trish makes Kass think she's not with their six, she's in the one.  Jeremiah says they can't fuss
(aw, what a cute way to tell them to shut up) but Kass just wants to punch Sarah in the face. (Yeah, Kass & Sarah are the new Lindsey & Trish but more civilized - for now.)

Solarrion - Day 19
-Sarah comes to the fire and tells Kass & Tasha she's sick of people only talking to her because they want her vote.  Kass tells her she'll stop talking to her then but Sarah meant the Solara people. (I think.)
-Trish is watching from the shelter - she heard Kass & Sarah fighting the day before and she's happy to hear they're not as strong a six as they thought.

-Tasha takes Kass & Sarah off to play peacemaker and really kisses up to Sarah which just makes Kass that much madder.  (Kass needs to chill out, she's mad because they won't do what she wants but then gets mad when she's called a bully...)  Tasha is showing she's better at the social game, she knows that Sarah holds their fates in her hands - at least until the next vote, so you keep her happy and on your side until you don't need her for the numbers - Kass really doesn't like having her modicum of power usurped and is not playing smart, who doesn't deserve the Brains moniker now?

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE
Oh, this one.  They will be balancing on floating triangular platforms with their feet perched on very narrow footholds.  At intervals they will move up towards the peak of the triangle making balancing that much harder - Last person standing wins the first individual immunity.
-Off they go - no other part of their body can touch the platform, only their feet.  They are on the first foothold for 15 minutes.
-Everyone makes it to the next foothold.  15 minutes later and they all made it to move to the top... and they are all having trouble even balancing without their hands on the top (I bet their feet are asleep...) and they start dropping like flies: Spencer, Kass, LJ, Sarah, Jefra, Tasha, Trish, Jeremiah... and it's down to Tony, Morgan and Woo... no sooner did Jeff say that then the wind picked up and toppled Morgan (I have to say it, she is a little top heavy...) and it's down to Tony and Woo.  Tony tries to get to Woo, asking him how he's doing but Woo is focusing on not falling (stay on there!) Tony is pretty wobbly but he keeps saving himself... until he can't anymore and WOO Wins first Individual Immunity!

Solarrion - Day 19
Bats, why did they have to show me the bats...hundreds of them flying around a cave... in the daylight. (I'm trying not to rock.)

Back at camp and Sarah's still flexing her new muscle.  The former/new Aparri tribe gather in the water to talk who they're going to vote off - Spencer and Tasha want to take the easy vote, Jefra and Sarah is of the belief that she is the president right now can dictate who they vote for, she says she doesn't think any of them have an idol and she wants to take Tony out because he's sneaky and always strategizing.

-Meanwhile, the former/new Solana tribe is watching this all from camp and they are not impressed.  Woo and Trisha think Sarah is too entrenched with the other tribe and she's never going to vote with them - Tony is telling them to have faith, that as of yesterday he had her with them.  But Trish heard the cat-fight between Sarah and Kass and she feels like she should approach Kass but Tony tells her to hold off until he can feel out Sarah again.

-Back in the water, Sarah sways them all over to voting for Tony because she can guarantee he doesn't have an idol (oh, Sarah, where are the cop instincts now?) And Kass is livid that Sarah thinks she's calling the shots and she's going to destroy the game.  Kass wants to destroy it first.

-Next, Tony is back pitching Sarah, he is guaranteeing her that she's top three with him and Trish on their side.  If they take out Tony or LJ tonight, it will then be six against four and they can get rid of Sarah and still have the numbers.
-She tells the camera, "Listen stupid, I know this.  Do you think I'm an idiot?" She says getting rid of Tony is nothing personal, it's actually a compliment to him.  She knows he's very observant and sneaky and a lot like her - and she'd get rid of herself if she could.
-He's is going on that if she says the word, they'll vote off Kass right now... just say the word.  And she tells him she's going to go off by herself and digest everything and come up with her decision at Tribal Council.
-Tony says to the camera, "Are you kidding me?" Right there he knows that she is not voting with them... and if he feels like it could be him, he's playing his idol - no way he's going home with an idol in his pocket.

-Back at camp, Trish quietly approaches Kass saying it looks like she's now on the bottom of the totem pole.  Kass says, "yeah, I've been replaced." (Oh wah!) And Trish is IN!  She asks who Kass would want to vote for, she says Sarah and Trish is all over that, "I'd like to get rid of Sarah myself," and Kass just subtly smiles like the cat that got the cream.
-Instantly Trish is off and telling the guys that she just had a talk with Kass and she said she'd like to vote for Sarah tonight - That's it, tonight we vote for Sarah!
-Trish then walks up to Kass,  says, "We're voting Sarah. If you're in with us, you're in with us and we'll take care of you."  And she's out. (See that's how it's done, none of this talking everything to death crap!)
-Kass loves it that Sarah thinks she's running the show.  New Aparri is voting for Tony at the behest of queen Sarah and new Solana is voting for Sarah... Once again Chaos Kass will show up at tribal council (she really has a high opinion of herself.  Does anyone think of her as Chaos Kass?)

TRIBAL COUNCIL
-LJ feels like he's in the hottest seat in town right now but if he is the one to go he'll take it as the highest compliment that he's the biggest threat in the game.
-Tasha says at this portion of the game they are looking at the biggest threats so he should be worried.
Jeff asks Tony about the group division and Tony comes back with:
-You don't move forward with an alliance of numbers, you move forward with an alliance of comfort, who you're happy to be around (Spencer is just shaking his head... is Tony pretending to be thick?)
-Tony does confirm that he's a little worried for himself tonight, he is coming from a tribe lower in numbers but he may be 40 and bald and old but he still has some fire in him.
-Kass confirms that the strong men doing well in challenges in the minority group should be worried.

Jeff asks LJ about idols and he's staying mum, says it may be a big Survivor joke that there are none... but Tony pipes up, "There are idols.  I have one and I'm using it for my tribe."
-Spencer challenges him to pull it out.  Tony, "What's that going to get me?" Spencer, "It'll prove you actually have one." (Duh!) So Tony does pull it out of his bag.
-Tony puts it on and says he's using it for his tribe so he will give it to whoever may need it tonight.
-And the Aparri six are all jabbering to each other, "The other one, the other one."  Tony's loving it, "Look at 'em."  And the Solara people are all jabbering, "Same, same, same... "

Jeff says, "Should we just end the suspense and vote right now?
Absolutely!

Time to Vote:
And they don't show us how anybody votes.

Tallying the votes:
Jeff asks is anyone wants to play a hidden immunity idol and Tony stands up, asks Jeff to validate the idol and then tells him he wants to play it for LJ. "Let's see if I read these people right."
Jeff, "Any votes for LJ will not count."

Reading the votes...
"Hold on Jeff," LJ pipes up, "I'd like to cover Tony's ass myself." (Why would you burn both the idols?) But he goes and plays his hidden idol for Tony.
Any votes for Tony will not count either.

Now reading the votes:
First vote: Jefra (that stops the celebrating)
Sarah - 1 (Oh, she didn't like that.)
Jefra - 2 (And she's crying)
Sarah - 2
Jefra - 3
Sarah - 3
Jefra - 4
Sarah - 4
Jefra - 5
Sarah - 5 - tied and one vote left....
Seventh person voted out and first member of the jury is...SARAH! (OH, That is kind of sweet, her queeny-poo attitude totally bit her in the butt.)
Solana/Tony is cheering and Aparri is shocked!  Sarah asks who flipped as she's taking her torch to be snuffed.  They're all saying not me... but Kass - Spencer calls out Kass and she just shrugs. (If looks could kill, he wants to strangle her right now.)
Jefra tells Kass thank you and Spencer snarls, "Kass, zero chance of winning the game." (He is so mad!) Kass just says, "There's a long way to go." (She's quite unconcerned with his pique.  Who's looking out for number one only now, Kass?)

Oh, and with Sarah leaving us tonight, that takes Susan M., Elliot and Ritch G. out of the pool (Sorry guys, I almost forgot to tell you who was knocked out in the excitement!)

Next week: The new cat-fight participants are B. McGee and Kass... and everyone goes running helter-skelter into the jungle looking for the new immunity idol with "different powers." (I'm rooting for Woo to use his "Ninja skills" (his words, not mine) and come up with the idol.)

Sarah's final thoughts - she was sitting there calm as can be waiting for the final vote to be read ... and boom.  She thought they had a solid six, she doesn't know why Kass flipped (really? Don't you?) But they got me good. (And she was laughing about it, so it looks like she appreciates the game play anyway.)

Have a great rest of your week everyone, we're over the hump!
